15:04 Because you leave the bounds of the chunk, the game can't calculate the local difficulty, which is chunk based, therefore it can't put the day counter either

@@infinitedeletePanicking just makes everything worse. Since he’s actually good at the game, he focused on the correct priorities. Pulling off tricks like that is also nothing special for skilled players, so I’m not surprised he wasn’t fazed by it.
Very funny moments

3:27 is the kind of totally imaginary save that you tell yourself you'd *definitely* do in the event of nightmare scenarios like this before realizing it was an illusion and waking up at the pearly gates.
I would have been fine with a theoretical demonstration that just uses a teleport command to get to the world border rather than traveling there by normal means. But you put in the extra work to make it legitimate and I respect that a lot. A very impressive achievement! Congratulations on (most likely) being the first person to do this without cheats in Survival!

15:05 I believe the day counter disappears at y>256 because it's on the Local Difficulty line, and above y=256 you aren't in a chunk so local difficulty isn't displayed. The day counter disappearing is just a side effect of that

In the new 1.20 update, the "Trail Ruins" structure has been added to the game. It contains a variety of blocks; including yellow and regular terracotta.
That's insane that you were able to get that death message! The clutch at 3:25 is so cool! Great video!

This is incredibly refreshing content!
Last video I saw related to world border, they completely drowned the video in overdramatization, and had a 40 minute video. You did something far more impressive, with no bullshit or clickbaiting, and did it in 20 minutes of video.
Finally, some good content
The Earth itself is 12,742 km in diameter, so you flew around in an Elytra greater than the diameter of the planet. Impressive dedication!
Even if the content did get a little dry in places, it was still something of a novelty to see someone strive for something (especially to this extent) as bizarre as one of the rarest death messages. I would go as far to say that this is more entertaining then the vast majority of Minecraft content that comes out nowadays, and a great achievement on your behalf.
11:35 the villager changes aren't implemented in 1.20.2, they're only under "experimental features" and may or may not be added at a later date. Unless you're talking about the re-zombification bugfix.
i kinda forgot they fixed the zombie doctor bug. i was coming here to make this exact comment otherwise.
basically the villager rebalance and the combat test are both just experiments right now.

You probably dont wanna hear this, but there is a wireless redstone method that you couldve used, it wont break if u die so you wouldnt have needed to fly all the way back to spawn. also not sure if it works on 1.20. Great video though!

The day counter is there for local difficulty (chunk based extra difficulty for when you’re in an arena for long enough) there are no chunks above y=256 (at least thats my understanding of it)

I’m not sure if this would work but is it possible to instead of fly all the way back and use a fishing rod to instead use a daylight sensor or red stone clock to activate the pearl? You could make a chunk loader and then die which sends you back to spawn, and then put another ender pearl in a chest by the border to clip out. Just a thought (btw absolutely insane video, just wow)
The issue here is timing. He would have to make sure that the Dragon hits him within 5s of the Ender Pearl being consumed. Which he could not guarantee on a set timer. It would be entirely possible for the dragon to not cooperate, causing him to miss his chance and be teleported back to the border.
Admittedly, there would be a rather low cost to such attempt, since he could just reset it and try again immediately, but doing things unreliably is a bad habit to get into.

15:00 The old height limit was 256 and so they likely decided to hide the stats thinking they would be rendered useless when trespassing the height limit and forgot to remove it later

Why not use a second fishing rod near spawn so that it's a one way travel?
Not sure if this would work because you'd have multiple bobbers, but you could use a redstone clock to tp you after x amount of hours and then get to the border in that time.

Unbelievably impressive feat, I could only imagine the dedication and patience you have to have endured travelling BACK AND FORTH the entire world without a copious amount of Elytras and not even enough fireworks to complete the whole journey, having to build 2 creeper + sugar cane farms along the way.
