selena's spanish album Revelacion got nominated for a grammy recently! that's her best project imo
in case of folklore, as a swiftie, indeed the album is a good choice to play it on repeat all tracks during the night. i have anxieties so I need to sleep with music turn on by the speaker. and folklore is one of my background song to accompany me to sleep. sometimes, the mind or the society tricks us with how music should be so trendy and punchy with heavy beat and bass. truth is, we can only fell asleep if we (at least) not offended by friends or persons or the condition. you fell asleep because folklore is the type of smooth sonically, means you dont offended, by the minimum, you kinda okay with it. your ear and soul tolerates it. even though it might not impress you.

I personally think Taylor has grown a lot, to me the "problem" with her takes are that we literally see her evolve through a magnifying glass, she went from "ew no I'm not a feminist" to "I'm sorry, I didn't really know what feminism meant", from "Nicki blame the males" to "I'm sorry, I didn't understand and shouldn't have said what I said" and regarding many other social issues, I can relate to that, you know, we have all been there. She knows when she should apologize and she tries to learn, I respect that.
I'm glad I didn't grow up famous, the amount of bad takes and trial and error situations regarding social issues I had growing up are not possible to count.

About Selena's controversy with Black Lives Matters, she really didnt gave an formal apologize. But in 2020, with all the tragedy that happened, she gave her Instagram to some black influencers, and the highlights are still there. A lot of content was posted on her ig, and it was so good bcz she is literally the most followed singer ever. So yeah, she didnt said anything about that terrible tweet, but I guess she learned from life and did very good supporting the moviment.

most swifties often mentioned her folklore album and I agree, it's just good! but to me evermore is so great, cause it's a bit underrated. I prefer evermore than folklore though, but I think I mostly play these two albums most of the time lol. since I prefer more to hyper-ballad, instrumentals so I don't quite listen to her pop albums but honestly her discography are just masterpiece after masterpiece!

I respect your opinion, but there is something that is not true. Camila did defend Normani. She posted several tweets saying that they should not follow her or be her fans if they were going to have that behavior, that it was not necessary to offend someone to praise her. To let you know.

Exactly! Because people want to twist facts just to justify their hate! and to think that Normani has been okay with Camila even after she left the group. They even took a picture together at BBMA 2018 and suddenly that article. Camila made a mistake when she was 14 but she clearly got educated and continue to do her best to promote equality. The hate she's been getting I think was just to tear hear down to lift someone else.

At the end of the day Normani said herself it took her time to say anything and apologize for what was said by her and her fans.

About Selena's tweet, she did apologize the next day in her concert on stage, and said that she worded it badly in the heat of the moment, but that she didn't mean it as it came out (and before the whole twitter thing, she had privately donated a large sum of money to the movement hence why she said "you don't know what I do"), and we have clearly seen how active she was during the protests in 2020 and she has given her account to black activists for 2 weeks to raise awareness on the movement.

Just wanted to say that I've personally watched your channel for quite a while, and a lot of the artists you avoid I do as well for similar reasons. You've articulated the issues so much better then I ever could and I wanted to say I appreciate that you put yourself out there to address it.
I'm a fellow black/mixed girl, so what you've said in this video resonated a lot for me. I tend to avoid saying anything negative about these artists online since stans enjoy dog piling on folks that don't love their favorites. Especially if it's due to them having racially charged pasts and saying, "They've changed!" due to X, Y, & Z.
Just because they supposedly went to a seminar or made a couple tweets/stories to "apologize" doesn't really mean much. It very much gives off damage control so that they can still get a bag ngl -shrugs-
I want to clear something I am a swiftie but i would not say she a good person or bad person I would say she is a person we all are, we made mistakes and grow up but it is different in her case she is a celebrity and everyone watching what she do but people hate her for no reason is what I see problem here and I am saying it for all celebrity you don't need to like their music but you also have to admit that they are human and they will make mistakes and grow up and dont you all make mistakes and grow up on your own, but celebrity get it worse so we really need to stop with this idiolizing celeb things and start to see them as a human who are not perfect if your feelings are important their feelings to, stop treating them like they are robotes .

I’m Mexican and work constantly in my life to break down my own racist behaviors because it’s in all of us. Part of that process was holding myself accountable to the artists I listen to and understand why my Black friends don’t support them. I realized if an artists actions cause harm to my Black friends, they aren’t the artist for me either. Solidarity matters. ❤
as a camila fan/stan i can admit that she's done some problematic things in the past. but i think that's just part of being human, learning, and growing. i was originally a fifth harmony stan but it was pretty clear that the management/industry was toxic in general. fifth harmony was never gonna last. sad as it is to say. i can't wait for Normani to drop a full album cause all her solo drops have been BANGERS. i support all the girls in their solo projects now that 5H has disbanded. for me i loved each of the girls (my lesbian heart did find camila the most attractive but like - we all have our preferences & normani could still knock my ass out any day & i'd say thank you) and just want them all to be happy. whether as a group, solo, friends, or not. it's just sad to me how toxic the industry can be & how management was never on all of their sides as a team or on making them a strong group.
i've grown up listening to taylor swift and again can agree that taylor swift has been problematic at times. but i also think that the industry is again - toxic. her documentary on netflix really helps show how far she's come if you are interested in seeing things from her perspective. she explains a lot of her thought process as a teenager, young adult to now. why she never spoke up about things, as well as divulging things about her personal life a her own feelings during bumpy times.
but i'm also generally someone that doesn't care much about an artists personal life or opinions so long as they aren't outstandingly bad. if they make bops, i won't deprive myself of listening. just figured i'd give my 2 cents! thanks for the awesome reaction.

You have good content and this was a good one! Yea, Katy had a baby named Daisy. I don’t know any Selena songs except for Lose You To Love Me and I loved that one. But, that’s all I know about her. I like her TV show though. I think Normani is going to be big, waiting for an album. Camilla I can’t get into right now. Its ok, folklore is a mood. Its not supposed to be poppy, it supposed to be slow and deep. Evermore is a bit more upbeat, but not much. People tend to like it better than folklore. That’s the consensus, its just is better. No shade at all. Taylor isn’t for everyone. I didn’t listen to her until 2020, never had listened to an album of hers before. I liked Red Taylors Version. the Vault tracks were outstanding. I do have to like how she is standing up and taking control of her masters the way she is, taking action and winning. Good for her. Loved this video, check you out again soon.

When comes to these 4 I am definitely more of a fan of Katy, Selena, and Taylor.
I have vibed and I’ve loved many of their songs. For Katy I’ve been a fan since 2017 during Witness era (which had some cringe monents ngl) but I think Witness and Smile are very underrated albums of hers.
Camila is just someone that I can’t even vibe with at all. And I knew something was up even before she got exposed.
I personally think the other three are worth revisiting with their recent projects. But Camila isn’t worth listening to anymore whether it be for self respect or otherwise. This isn’t hate for Camila. But it’s just how I feel.
I’m hoping in the future you revisit the other girls again though. Smile, Rare, and Folklore/Evermore are just great works to go through. Rare unironically is perfect for putting on make up.

ok i get taylor has had her controversial issues but i do think she grows and gets educated for her fans. plus we can’t deny the fact that she is one of the only major artists using her voice to fight for artists rights, setting examples and changing the industry to benefit who creates the art. that said i think it is valid to not resonate with her person and the way she deals with issues cause she sure is privileged
I feel like it’s always a question with artists of how much of their “brand” is their doing and how much of it is being pushed by their executive team. I mean Selena Gomez was a Disney kid after all, and we all know how hard it can be on young stars in that environment. Especially those who don’t fit the mold and appeal to the same demographics that Disney has in mind (most of the time being white, middle class, suburban homes with kids ages 6-11). Honestly I feel like Selena really grew as an artist when she moved more to the Latin music scene.
