the genius of this channel (apart from Winters himself)...is the lack of fixed cameras. Moving in and around the battlefield is just so immersive, it puts you right in the game as if you were at the table prodding and poking around yourself...masterful.
Totally agree , I can not stand the top down fixed camera type battle reports , I just can’t watch them , winters videos are just so much better than every other channel and this is just one of the many reasons why
And without the autistic shouting and yelling.

Fully agreed. There are several channels that seem interesting, but I just can't watch them because of fixed cameras. Fortunately there's Winters and SN.
@@marecki49 yeah, a lot of them are actually a bit boring, not very dynamic, no humour, very dry. . . this channel has been a god-send (emperor send?) for me getting back into 40k after a 20 year hiatus.

Reduce the number of rerolls means exactly that, reduce. Doesnt mean remove completely
EVERYTHING was giving out rerolls this and rerolls 1s that etc
Now there is:
1) not as many sources of rerolls *aka REDUCED*
2) rerolls are provided by strats or a single unit gets from a leader, rather than big auras giving it out to everything

But yeah, DG got done dirty. At minimum they need a native 6+++ just to compensate for their lack of mobility letting their foes get the lead on them in taking points and a longer duration shooting them before they inevitably close to melee.
That land-raider and it’s crew deserves a title. It’s a full blown character at this point.

Tbf, Land Raiders have machine spirits in lore and naming a land raider is totally in line with black templar style. Maybe "The Faith Involiate?"
If you read the lore, that Land Raider’s accurate. Their machine spirits are capable of heroic actions in combat like that.

I love how unique Sultans armies always are, and how excited he always is to talk you through what’s he got. Listening to other people’s armies and what they do, still one of my favourite parts of the hobby.

@@SultanPlays40k do infernus squads get sticky objectives? And does the second player score primary on turn five at the beginning or end of their turn?
@rodneyclark720 they don't get sticky objectives (that's only regular intercessors), but the Gladiator had moved back to take it score it as it couldn't shoot! Plus the player who goes second scores at the end 😊
@@SultanPlays40k ah, I didn’t see that had moved, I think Winters had excitedly allocated the primary before you drew the cards and rethought the plan, so didn’t cover who was covering that home objective, that could’ve made it quite a different results with only 1 point in it.

Sometimes I am watching battle reports and I am saying... Winters... You are a bloody lucker with your 5`s and 6`s.. during this game I was so upset about this bloody land raider but then I saw how big momma soaked so much damage... so I returned to "winters you are a bloody lucker" :D Great game and I love to watch how you guys have so much fun playing this game!

Just one nitpick: Helbrecht loses his +1 Strength and the crits on 5+ once his unit dies and he's on foot. He only has those abilities while leading a unit.
Not that it would have made a difference at the end there, but just for future games!
My mistake! I'm glad it didn't affect anything at the end there, I'll know for next time! 😊

Not sure if it came up but the Sword Bretheren's ability Vow Sworn Bladesmen also gives benefits to the the leaders in that unit. For example giving Helbrect damage 4 attacks.
i dont think they did account for it but yeah the PSB buff themselves and Helbrecht and Helbrecht buffs himself and the PSB. its a strong symbiotic combo

This might be the best batrep I've ever seen outside of narrative campaigns.
I was super excited that the tyranids round 3 were 57 - 17 (i think) despite the templars having a ~ 1300 to 850 army points alive discrepancy
But the templars absolutely crushed scoring to win the day

Very exciting game. At one piint I was shouting at the screen "you forgot to give BT the victory points for holding own stronghold", but you must have heard me. That was some comeback and both of you did really well scoring VP's. Well done
Just FYI - When you use Overwatch, it can be BEFORE or after they move - so the brutalis moving away from the Tyrannofex could have been overwatched.

At 1:11:09 the Tyrannofex could have still overwatched the Brutalis Dreadnought. Overwatch can be used at the *start or end* of a Normal, Advance, Fall Back, or Charge move. Since the Tfex could see the Brutalis before it moved, as soon as it declares it is making a Normal move it can be shot at with overwatch.
No? He said it couldn't see it before the charge, and they never checked after the charge.

Winters deploy the haauspex in a way where we get to see the model do something it being removed right away was a bit rubbish, 3 of them next time!
So what exactly is the Templars' weakness again? Their shooting seems really strong and they wreck harder in melee than any other melee space marine chapter I've seen in 10th
I agree, they feel very strong - they hit harder than my blood angels!
You lose the flexibility of the doctrines, but if you play them super aggressively and get stuck in, they just smash face!

I'm uh... still working it out. Might have to take some notes from this game and see what I'm missing.
Melee is quite useless against two of the top armies right now - Custodes will just murder you with fight first and Eldar will always run away from the charge range with Phantasm.
@@mikoajkosowski1750 Yeah, seems Eldar are already "broken" (as usual - I am sure one of the rules writers is Eldar player) but hopefully will be nerfed a little

You use it BEFORE the battleshock round
Hence, the opponent cant use insane bravery because its not in the battleshock step itself

Apologies for the random unrelated question, but does anyone remeber mid to late 8th edition, Grey Knights got some additional rules/addendum to try to balance them, I vaguely remember something about being able to pick one of three traits which would give your army a bonus (eg +1 armour save) or similar. Can anyone remember what this was or what it was called?
im quite new and just wondering, why was the dreadnaught able to fight and kill the Carnifex? wasnt it already the black templars turn?

btw, when sword brethren use their +1 damage or +1 attack ability, any leaders that are attached also get that effect. so helbrecht could get a 4 damage strike or 2 damage sweep, same with the emperors champion, and grimaldus would be damage 3.

Great report people. Just to say, the leaders also get the sword brethren benefits. So helbrecht also gets extra attacks or dmg.

The charge at 48 mins I believe that if you can get base to base you must, that means several of those guys that moved towards the objective should have been in base to base at the front of that pack of gaunts
