- A lovely ride from the BBC to the QI studios beside the Thames in the company of the spectacularly clever Mr Stephen Fry.

ABOUT CARPOOL:
Carpool is an online show hosted by Robert Llewellyn (Red Dwarf, Scrapheap Challenge, Fully Charged), who gives a wide variety of passengers a lift in a hybrid or electric car and they talk. It's as simple as that. Previous guests include Stephen Fry, David Mitchell, Charlieissocoolike and Jim Jeffries. - Zábava
I wish Robert had continued these. I do love Fully Charged but these are just so interesting. It's so good to see celebrities completely relaxed just talking like two mates down the pub. I also wonder if any of the other drivers in the traffic realised that Stephen Fry was sitting just feet from them.
Also was really interesting to hear Robert getting excited about the upcoming Model S.
I agree
And now you have Jerry Seinfeld with comedians in cars. Robert was too early
Stephen Fry is actually the nicest person ever, I sent him a letter recently and got two personalised autographs back! He's awesome.
I want to try that too, where did yiu send yiur letter, the address? Thanjs!😊
@@kencv9400 It will be his management company I expect.
@@kencv9400 Probably too famous now
@@gordonramsdale Stephen Fry was world renowned 9 years ago too, you probably can still contact him if you look through the right channels
"I sound like one of the Walton sisters in the middle of a sex change operation." Stephen Fry is more than a national treasure, he's a walking World Heritage Site. Great show!
I had the pleasure of meeting Robert at my University. Really nice dude, told us all about this, its great to finally see it! managed to make him laugh a lot which pleased me immensely.
The very idea that Stephen Fry had to flash ID... he should just lean out the window and say "LOOK AT MY FACE! I'M STEPHEN BASTARDING FRY!"
its just to separate him from his body doubles.
He was just at too awkward a position to do so in a passenger seat of a car lol, if he was driving he wouldn't have chance to get his ID out im sure.
If he did that he would just be another "do you know who I am" guy, and would still need to present ID to get in.
I'm just amazed by Stephen's energy and the amount of references and subjects he's able to cover in the short time
Stephen Fry makes me feel really warm and cuddly and optimistic about the world.
Fry is the most wonderful human being. -up there with Hugh Laurie.
I bet HE told you that. I expect he has been up there, with Hugh laurieload
in what way is he a wonderful human???
Outstanding what a great guy Steven Fry is !!! i really enjoyed this one.
If Stephen Fry was a taxi driver, he'd probably be the best taxi driver in the world!
Well, he owns one.
What i love about this series is that its not an interview its two poeple having a chat and what a perfect person to have a chat with in a car, mr stephen fry.
I just love Stephen Fry - a thoroughly decent and compassionate human being.
+Cruising 1 He's a selfish snob if you knew him at all.
Hi Nautilus, am I to gather from your remark that you know him personally?
Cruising eh? he'd love you alright
Who is Robert Llewellyn?
He's really good! I don't think a lot of people could talk to Stephen Fry, David Mitchell and Duncan Jones and be as interesting as them!
He doesn't suck up to them, the conversations don't feel contrived, and he just has amazing chemistry with all of his guests!
I'm a fan!
Stephen mentioned David Bowie, Mel Smith and Rik Mayall in this interview, all now sadly gone.
Oh christ yes, what a sad, but accurate observation!
and stephen has also recently passed..
Stanley13 No... he hasn’t.
a lot of people can die in 10 years

@Babsan11 The other man is Robert Llewellyn, he is a writer, actor and TV presenter in the UK. He has been performing regularly since the early 1980's. He is best known for his portrayal of Kryten, in the BBC hit series 'Red Dwarf.' He also created Carpool, this show, in which Stephen Fry is one of his many passengers.
He was also the man behind the mask in the movie "V for Vendetta"
Great idea for this show, relaxed atmosphere, great interviewer and great guests!!!
Fascinating. Two very intelligent and funny people having a chat. Kryten and Melchett should be running the country.
Yes Darling.
Best carpool so far. Couldn't you just listen to Stephen and Robert talk all day, so interesting and entertaining.
Such a tribute to Stephen's awesomeness that this episode continues to get viewed after almost 4 years!
Totally brilliant! Great concept and Stephen Fry must be the best passenger ever. A mass of anecdotes, totally relevant such a memory.
I loved Shenandoah. I like the line about "I just had to try! And if we don't try, we don't do. And if we don't do, why are we here on this earth"?
It just starts off with them talking bout Charlie love it!
i love stephen fry
Two amazing chaps in a car. What a brilliant show. Love this!!!
For those of you that think he's being awkward and spouting rubbish I've got to tell you you're missing out. Look up some more of his stuff, maybe you'll get a sense of him. He's a national treasure. Language, tiger
look up him? Like that Australian Phone book I saw, Headed ,'How to Look Up your Friends''
What a great car pool. Stephen Fry must be the perfect passenger!
That was so utterly interesting , Stephen is very likeable , seems kind and extremely fair minded , can see why Kathy Burke gets on so well with him . Quite a heart of sweetness under all the quick wit . Always had a soft spot for our Stephen ; )
what a great series, never seen this before, totally watchable and re-watchable!
I didn't think it was possible for me to like Stephen Fry more that I do. But I do now!
How has it taken me twelve years to find this? It must be the best Stephen Fry interview ever. It's more like two old mates talking about nothing and everything at the same time; with classic lines such as, "I have an absorbent mind - like toilet paper".
this entire half hour is an absolute delight to behold...I just want to fall asleep listening to Stephen Fry's voice...
You had Stephen Fry in your car. I am not only jealous but extremely jealous, aaaah!
@fullychargedshow
Thank you!! We never see him in swedish media, you know. We hardly see Stephen Fry either so thank God for youtube and all the kind people out there posting clips!!!
stephan fry for king!
@batmanofni You are almost prescient. It is a medium low budget TV show in the UK, on 'Dave' which if you are outside the UK is a TV channel not some bloke I met. If you follow to the carpoolUK link you'll see the new shows are appearing once a week. I've now recorded over 100 shows and what ever happens, there'll be a new one every week until June.
Oh, I've met both of these wonderful men now. Excellent, interesting, superb.
This ride could go on for hours and I'd happily listen. :D
Stephen's Jimmy Stewart impression! He's always been so good at that!
my friends live next door to him in norfolk and i have met him 6 times he always makes me laugh
How random. It's three in the morning and I am binging these videos instead of sleeping.....and I find out that Stephen Fry went to prep school in the village I grew up in (Uley) , and then they name drop the town I lived in during my teens (Dursley). What a shocker.
This is the best channel on CZcams. Every episode a gem.
Two of my favourite human beings. This was great.
i could listen to Stephen Fry talk all day
Wow, Blackadder in one room, Red Dwarf in the next, and then Only Fools and Horses in the next. All that quality comendy on TV at once. Those were the days!
@jimbo1825 As many other people have commented, carpool is anything but an interview show. It's just a conversation. Hard not to take offence at your angry orders, "do this, do that, shut the fuck up". Fucking charming.
Excellent series. I could listen to Stephen Fry just ramble on all day. He seems wonderfully down to earth. Very clever idea for a show. Nothing's really happening but you find yourself riveted to the conversation. Like it!
Stephen Fry makes this world considerably more interesting to live in.
Stephen I watched your interveiw to the end.. I whole heartedly agree with you. People need to keep a sense of humour.
I did not click on this expecting to hear about Charlie....... This was awesome.
Stephen fry's noises at 11:12 !!!! :D love him soo much!!!
"I'm sorry, I don't care where you're going, we're following the Tesla."
I'm gonna get those cameras in my next car, so I have evidence of who's wiping snot on my door handles
I love this fella that's driving the car; a good person who's doing the right kind of interview.
Stephen looks tanned and lovely!
I would love to get an excuse to have a conversation with Fry, but I fear I wouldn't hold up my end. So, thankyou for this opportunity to eavesdrop on a great one.
He makes some extremely valid points about the people who'd want to get into politics in the latter half.
Aww he was so nice about Charlie :-)
Great interview format - much more relaxed than the whole chat show thing
I agree with Stephen here. I remember the last couple of years of my education seemed to focus rather heavily on "tricks" in passing exams.
Loved this episode. Thank you for uploading!
I love the way they talk about a 40 grand car being , "a bit expensive" :D
Extraordinary man. A genius.
I'm reading thin he was and filthy haired. It's amazing.
"Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly." GK Chesterton
Funny to see the reactions to a Tesla roadster and talk of the coming model S now 8 years later. There have definitely been some progress but S definitely didn't end up costing 35-40 000...
the big man has such a presence.
that was so funny :) you cant not love and adore and fancy stephen fry he is fantastic :)
Oh stephen fry
I'd walk right past Jesus at a party if Stephen Fry was there.
What a lovely conversation. How I would've loved to have been in that car.
Stephen's nerdgasm at 11:12 made me snicker so much though.
why is this so enjoyable??????
Gr8 stuff, thanks for posting
FREAKY: They were talking about Andy Serkis (Gollum, other random parts) who also played "Alley" in The Prestige. Alley was Tesla's assistant in that movie. Then they see a Tesla. BRAINSPLOSION
I would totally love to meet Stephen Fry... I wish he would come to Singapore or Malaysia for a visit or somethin, so that i can meet him.
Stephen Fry is such a hero of mine
I LOL'ed at stephen frys orasmic noises at 11:10
So simple yet so enjoyable to watch.
Yes, but I do recognise him! I've watched some of his older work recently and realised how great he is. All respect to him! :)
Don't worry; we love u Bobby. Talk all you want; I quite enjoy it. It means you're both having fun and it's a real conversation. Carpool is fantastic and you're never the other guy to us!
If they want quiet, they can watch Parkinson re-runs.
It's just mind boggling the amount of times I've had an urge to write down things Stephen said throughout the video.
What a man.
Very, very enjoyable... Far, far better than the American version. Love it.😍
I cant believe Stephen Fry is talking about Charlie, that is so awesome!
Craig Charles? The CHARL. Oh yes, yes I knew him. Amazing character, amazing.
@Dinnderladyman Okay, as 'the other guy' I would like to defend myself only in the fact that carpool is just the recording of a conversation, I could have given Stephen a lift and warned him, 'I'm not going to say anything or laugh, can you just do a 30 minute monologue. Of course Stephen could have done that, but it would have been a bit unfair on him.
that man is a walking Encyclopedia
woman--he married a little guy, who he calls his Husband--jeeeez
Damn Stephen Fry is great what a chap :-)
these kind of things are great for playing in the background
This is just delightful :)
The original Comedians in Car Getting Coffee
I'd imagine so.
Stephen Fry is a national treasure and any of charlie's videos will never come close to any of stephen's incredible work.
Watch some of older work :) he's awesome.
What a terrific video!
More of this!
Love how he says his mind is like lavatory paper then describes posh people as calling the toilet a lavatory.
Stephen bites his cuticles at 21:00, just like I do. A singer I know is constantly on my case about that.
It's just impossible not to love Stephen :)
I could listen to Stephen Fry read from a cereal box.
Yes, and it was weird how much I agree with everything he said. Awesome guy.
One of the best!
This is a brilliant idea and could see it as a very low budget TV show.
11:12 Dat nerdgasm.
Damn, my dad saw Stephen in the Apple store where I live back in December. Can't believe I didn't go with him and attempt to talk to him. :C
Wicked wicked stunning car..
