I just think it's important to remember that the woman showing us these beautiful places in China, is a Chinese person holding a camera. Her experience is not necessarily indicative of what the experience of the average tourist would be like.

Tofu is well known among the Chinese ethnic groups of people and every groups has their expertise in cooking tofu eg. Hakka Tofu. Hokkian Tofu, Teochew tofu and others. Yes, making good tofu depends solely on natural water source without that it is not possible to make it. In this video Yan has taken us to the remote rural areas where they have ample underground water source through wells collections. soybeans are the main ingredient source of making tofu , from the process it will have various downstream products produced eg. soya bean drinks, tofu skin, Tofu has many forms, from puffy tofu, silken, soft, firm etc. This video entails just a little about the Tofu. Actual process of making involved quite a lengthy durations which is not possible to show in video. Anyway at least Yan showed us the village that is known for making Tofu in China. Good work Yan.....!

A great contrast to my own place, my primary residence is a low rise house, in a layback part of a city, but my secondary residence just in the CBD, and on Level 44. But, I miss most the four chamber house in my home village back in Chaochou, China where I only spent not more than 5 years of my childhood. People in Laos and Thailand always refer ourselves to Tang Ren, and the old folks in my home village told us that our forefathers came all the way from Henan Province, China. But, really I believe we are more local, at least an aborigine not less than the Miao and Yi. I love all the peoples around me, particularly their foods and cultures.

This season of unseen China is so enjoyable. It makes me feel at home watching all of your places visited. It hasn’t been since Disney’s “Wonders of China” that I have enjoyed what many haven’t seen of China. While visiting Disney, visiting the exhibit was my favorite.

Unseen China this maybe but it can also be Un-spoilt China too. Looking at the old buildings & way of life seemed like time stood still here. And tofu is as much Chinese as can be. You can find it in almost all Chinese cooking even in wedding banquet! Those potatoes are huge! Thanks again for your vlogs...it calms my mind.......sitting comfortably in my chair!!!!LOL

There are so many ways to travel through China. If one chooses a food theme there are countless routes to take. Or travel through scenic routes that would lead one to many different places. Or travel through historic significant sites and that would also lead one to other places. I don't think a person can see all of China in one life time. Thank you, Yan, for doing the travelling for us, bringing down-to-earth commentary, and allowing us to meet locals virtually.

The first time I went to China, a long time ago, people had an ID with a rural or urban status, so people from the country couldn't migrate to the cities. But a lot of people did. Then the government realised that the land was better farmed as bigger collectives and people were needed in the factories. The last place I lived in China was Airport District, Zhengzhou. Right next to the Foxconn factory. The biggest factory in the world. That was an eye-opener.
