A discarded battery drill for 12 V-18 V used in hobby. To make "round" things of wood, plastic, etc.

Not a lathe, only a hobby application, by the way.
Better to have "something" instead of "nothing" when you need to make round things, etc.
When you mount such an old battery drill (often thrown away, found in the dump or so) in a fierce way on a plate of thick wood or multiplex you can use the fixed horizontal axis of the drill, in all kinds of ways.
I did know that (in theory, of course), but it surprised me in many ways when I made this setup now, showed, in reality.
It showed so much “usability”. I could make a few radio knobs, made for a 6 mm diameter axis. By (say) making them round with the help of a knife and a piece of sandpaper, on this (not) “lathe”.
I never had/have any experiencie with “lathes” or so. Thus it surprised me how easy such a setup can be used.
So making round knobs to be mounted on a standard knob-axis potentiometyer of 6 mm in diameter showed to be possible and much easier than I had thought.
