* Update* Thanks to Team FastEddy for giving me a free set of bearings! :) I have a problem with the bearings. They rust and seize. Can anyone pinpoint the problem?
welll with all these videos that look like a real vehicle and find out that its not it usually pisses me right off.. this one is one of the better RC mudding videos ive seen... thumbs up
So awesome!! Laughed when you hit the rock before the puddle and tumbled in. Haha very surprised at how bogged down you were and you got out! At the cost of a shoe. Great vid!
hi bro, im a technician in qatar for rc cars and planes we have an rc car wash first in doha qatar, some people say i saw many baja5b here where they bring here for cleaning and overhaul...mudding is a part of the rc cars life, but you must clean it as soon as you finish using it in the mud or sand..dnt let the mud or sand dried and leave it ...it will damage your bearings and metal you have to clean it .
very nice video man...im an rc technician here in qatar for large scale rc plane, boats, cars, trucks,my favorite is all the gas trucks,,but i never seen a baja 5t bash like this!!!cool and very heavy duty....but i put paddle tires its make a a lot og tracktion on dirt,mud,sand....i like cleaning them and take it apart.....your video is to the xtream...yeah man nice.....make more video....
i been repairing and cleaning all kinds of rc nitro, and baja5b and 5t ,,,this is amazing..but i warned you clean it as soon as you finish bashing it in the mud,,2nd before and after you use it in sealines and mudding it spray it with WD40 to prevent it from rust..but even never wash it it with water ,,here in our shop we use different chemical for cleaning we have an rc carwash for nitro and baja trucks
Hehe great stuff. I'm highly impressed at how much abuse you were giving it :O) I'm looking into buying one. How is the suspension setup on this - Is it 'as-is' from the factory or have you dailed some settings in yourself?
@ThaMaikel13 cheers, im saving for one now :D and im thinking of getting some proline trencher tires cos them oones dont look good for loose ground and mud or snow for the british winter.
your problem with the bearings is that you are running the truck in water without greasing the bearings with WD-40 which after awhile will start to rust and seize up so before running it in water make sure to grease it or buy new bearings.
i called hpi and they are really thinking about making the 5t 4x4, i didnt ask about any transmission upgrades but they said when hpi knows about if 4x4 is a go then we will know :)
People are idiots. Nice vid. If I thought it was stupid I wouldnt waste my time to comment. Its always nice to see to see somebody do something to their rc that I wouldnt be willing to do. Rock on!
finally, someone actually goes mudding besides (scaled mud pits). great video, wouldve been a bitch to clean but like i said finally a good mud bashing vid
This is what 1/5 should be doing not racing but bashing racing is different to just having fun and maybe break something on it that’s the fun get 2 peaple and have a demolition derby bash lol 😂
its just that this thing sounds n looks like it needs either some hop ups, tuning, or throw on a clutch and have some fun peeling out. the lag at the start makes it seem less torqued to me. With a good tune you may be right there. but i think it is a somewhat over priced, engine 150, chassis 400, radio gear +parts extras 200... reasonable price would be 750-900, well at least thats what i think..
How did you mount that camera on your 5T? I have a 5B and i tried it before by taping it on the roof, but there where too much vibrations and the cam went in error. Nice vid btw.
might i suggest wd 40 or a form of oil in the bearings... and tell hpi to make the baja 4 wheel drive! cos then it wont get stuck unlike the savages. question... is the baja 5t the same as the savage 5t? good vid btw ;)
That thing is pretty neat. I still like the Traxxis more though cause they are 4 wheel drive but this thing is still really cool. whats the top speed on these things?
@nath0987 Nice mate. I'm saving for one as well, but I'm going for the Rovan 260T instead. It's exactly the same car but just bout 400$ less in price. HPI is just the brand u pay for mate ;). Look after some reviews on the Rovan. It's very good quality and service as well. + U get way more upgrades / tuning parts when u buy it. Like 29cc engine dominator exhaust etc.
I like these baja's and now I found out castle creations just made a 10 hp electric motor for them and claiming 60+ mph makes me really want to buy one BUT I'm going to hold out until HPI makes a 4 wheel drive conversion or something. I can't deal with just rear wheel drive !!! My 2 cents
I enjoyed the video!! But it reminds me of something my Dad once told me about buying a vehicle (Specifically when he bought a new Tahoe in '97)... Some people want to have the bigger, more expensive one - but if you can only afford the 2WD, get the 4WD Blazer....... Obviously it's different, but do they not make a 4WD 5T?? If they do, the same applies - people get the 2WD SUV because they'll "never need 4 wheel drive"....until they actually "need" it.
ive jumped my baja about 10 ft and landed on the rear aarm and it only cracked it, these things can take a beating! but i dont know about mud and water, kinda painful to watch
i have a hyper 7 that i got this christmas. it was $368 with a gallon of gas. plus another 80 for rechargable batteries. i drove it in the snow a couple times nd freaked out that the electronics were gonna break. idk how u can stand putting a $1200 rc car through all that water and not worry about it.
finally someone who enjoy's his toys and not being affraid of breaking stuff, hats of to you
welll with all these videos that look like a real vehicle and find out that its not it usually pisses me right off.. this one is one of the better RC mudding videos ive seen... thumbs up
There's certainly no age on fun! Awesome vid. And that's how you go mudding!! Keep enjoying dude!!!
I love the slow motion with the backwards camera view it's like the real thing.
By far the best video i`ve seen to show off how much abuse these things can take. Ace.
hell yea! just like benhangman said finally someone who's not afraid to get their toy dirty or break it!
After watching this video, I'm now in the mood for some WRC. Nice job!
I have not written a comment yet, but now I have to: This is one of best RC car videos on youtube! Nice!
So awesome!! Laughed when you hit the rock before the puddle and tumbled in. Haha very surprised at how bogged down you were and you got out! At the cost of a shoe. Great vid!

toss a pair of paddles on there for the mud, realy cool rooster tails in slow mo,and better drivabilty, and of course keep spare bearings lol.
Awesome. Props for actually driving this beast instead of playing nice just cause of how expensive it is.
awesome movie man! i like how there wasn't any music so we could hear the truck!
did you notice, in the mud, the wheels were turning so fast (rear) that the mud was just flicked off them!! AMAZING!!! like at 6:47- 6:50
great! the rear view looks soooo realistic! nice!

In slow mo it is almost like watching the real version. Nice.

definetly subscribed and now sharing thats how ya geter don son in the sun muddy as hell love it
Nobody can tell you that you don't know how to bash!! Nice vid, it was enjoyable to watch.
thanks to the mud team fast eddy is going to have to give you another set of bearings great vid thought nice truck
Bearing supply places have all stainless steel bearings in small sizes, they solved problems I have had with carbon steel ballbearings.
now thats a Baja bashing video thumbs up love the mudding handels mud good
the best baja 5t vid i ever seen 5*
I don't see the problem for the bearings! Dirt and water are always a better lubricant than that corroding grease and oil.
+Shawn Young lol
I love people like you...
What on board camera do you use?
That was nice and steady, I bought a keyring style one, apparently it's HD, but it's not half as good as yours.
nice vid just a suggestion , when mudding use paddle tires they work well for this truck
they really need to make a 4wd 5th scale baja truck, that would be bad ass!
they really shoulda made this car 4WD. i love how you play with it though, dont give a damn about nothing but fun
thats what i called pushing it to the limit great video ;)
Hehe great stuff. I'm highly impressed at how much abuse you were giving it :O) I'm looking into buying one. How is the suspension setup on this - Is it 'as-is' from the factory or have you dailed some settings in yourself?
Great vid! That baja has some power love the rooster tails
I really want one of these after seeing this :) Awesome!
@KapteinKUK Nice video, really. Can I ask you what kind of onboard cam you are using? The quality is great!
@ThaMaikel13 cheers, im saving for one now :D and im thinking of getting some proline trencher tires cos them oones dont look good for loose ground and mud or snow for the british winter.

Crazy video !! fantastic on board vues !!! Do more vid like this one !!
The vie was nice, the slow mode Ass shot was priceless though. Lol
Who couldn't appreciate a well coordinated slo-mo?
you have to oil the bearings down before installment And you must do it like bi-weekly. Nice Vid
i called hpi and they are really thinking about making the 5t 4x4, i didnt ask about any transmission upgrades but they said when hpi knows about if 4x4 is a go then we will know :)
Great video, good to see one driven hard...
awesome video,love the mud work
People are idiots. Nice vid. If I thought it was stupid I wouldnt waste my time to comment. Its always nice to see to see somebody do something to their rc that I wouldnt be willing to do. Rock on!
Cool i just got my new baja today iv been waiting a long time for it so yeah cool vid
Sht I'd like to see this thing with some diff. tires. With some minor paddles this thing would haul.
Very Nice Vid. Great Job.
mate, this is awesome!!!!!!!!!
That can't be the 26cc motor because mine don't move like that for sure. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong. Lol. Great video.
finally, someone actually goes mudding besides (scaled mud pits). great video, wouldve been a bitch to clean but like i said finally a good mud bashing vid

Need some Hostel MXTs for that mud! I'm surprised the stock tires did that well! Bash on after all, it's a toy.
great video....one of the best ive seen.....
damn.. lovin the slow motion
How did you mount that camera on your 5T? I have a 5B and i tried it before by taping it on the roof, but there where too much vibrations and the cam went in error. Nice vid btw.
Awsome and funny video and cool truck, good work!
might i suggest wd 40 or a form of oil in the bearings... and tell hpi to make the baja 4 wheel drive! cos then it wont get stuck unlike the savages. question... is the baja 5t the same as the savage 5t? good vid btw ;)
air compressors work amazing to clean them
i'm no expert here, but did he have to modify the servos and electronic or are they water-proof from stock
5:48 looks a bit like my dog after a long walk!
Great Video ! I Love Slow-Mo and Bajas . 5*
Super Cool video. Very entertaining! Love it!

unstoppable ! love it
the baja5t is my favorite rc truck
The mud? Don't you have to tear it down completely after and clean and lube all the bearings?
Its still going strong. :)
I only had to clean it and change the bearings.
where did you buy your conversion kit from? I have the 5b and just wondering.
I like these baja's and now I found out castle creations just made a 10 hp electric motor for them and claiming 60+ mph makes me really want to buy one BUT I'm going to hold out until HPI makes a 4 wheel drive conversion or something. I can't deal with just rear wheel drive !!! My 2 cents
Really SICK video!!!
Did you water prove the servos RX at all, would have thought these would have packed in tbh.
Great video, now that's getting dirty!
the word slow motion rewind the thing they should of put it higher and did you get one running back??? :)
ok i gotta question does the water effect those at all? like electronically wise or performance wise...or anything wise :P
Now THATS how you run your Baja!
@nath0987 Sure mate, have fun with it!
What kind of motor do you have on this thing? Like maybe a super charged electric w/nitro, or gas-operated or what?
Doesn't it look like at 8:26 that he "skipped" the truck on the water after the bonce?
I enjoyed the video!! But it reminds me of something my Dad once told me about buying a vehicle (Specifically when he bought a new Tahoe in '97)...

This0is0pointless Wrong, LOSI 5T is 4WD
Awesome video thanks for sharing!
Really liked this video!
ive jumped my baja about 10 ft and landed on the rear aarm and it only cracked it, these things can take a beating! but i dont know about mud and water, kinda painful to watch
is it safe to mud with this just all stock? do i have to buy any waterproof electronics for it?
this is such a great video
Absolut geiles Video.Bin Begeistert.
MAYBe its just me but this duznt seem like the best truck to be mudding with?
hi, did you make them mud guard yourself and if so can you make a vide on how to, thanks
i have a hyper 7 that i got this christmas. it was $368 with a gallon of gas. plus another 80 for rechargable batteries. i drove it in the snow a couple times nd freaked out that the electronics were gonna break. idk how u can stand putting a $1200 rc car through all that water and not worry about it.
