oh Wahnsinn, da steht auf dem Wegweiser "Darmstadt" und "Lorsch". Ja, hier wohne ich, das ist die hessische Bergstraße und die heutige A67!

Good "old timey" music! The Komiker Harmonisten had that gift of cheering people up, even these days. (bitte vergeb mein Deutsch....)
The Autobahn was a fantastic achivement! But in those days there were no fences on the sides, preventing wild animals to enter the road. Pretty dangerous, especially in the dark.
IA-45338 - was für eine Nummer! Das entschädigt für den ganzen Aufwand vor dem Start: Choke ziehen, Zündung ein, Handgas einstellen?, Handschaltung auf Leerlauf, Anlasser ziehen - los gehts die Fahrt im Adler.
Die Bäume auf dem Grünstreifen gab es auch in den 70ern/ frühen 80ern noch - allerdings wohl nicht an den Transitstrecken- aber von Berlin Richtung Stettin ganz bestimmt.

I wouldn't call 1938 a better time. Better time for music, yes, but being in the middle of a world war isn't exactly amazing compared to how we have it now
WW2 was a hoax....at least from the German perspective.
Yes it was a better time because everybody knew it was war. Nowadays we have quiet wars and only 1 % of the world knows it's war....multiple wars on so many levels.

Completely addicted to this music, never heard by me before finding this place. Not to mention footage of pre war Autobahn networks, I suspect built for the coming war.
More it was built as a way for the German people to enjoy their country and travel around it.

Oskar Joost on "Fernsehsänder"? Already in 1938?
At the Olympicgames in 1936 their have been the first official TV-Transmissons send and where seen in so called "Fernsehstuben" . So in 1938 Oskar Joost could be seen in TV already.
The first mile of Britain's first motorway didn't open until 1959, Germany obviously had to be crushed, it was light years ahead.
