The best way to listen to Orion is with headphones and closing your eyes, so you can just feel the music wash over you. You did it right.
Someone can play this at my funeral as i journey the cosmos....
This is with no doubt is gonna be on my funeral with highway to hell
"To Live Is To Die" You will love it!!
Puppets is one of those perfect albums. Not a weak track in sight.
@Johnny Quest thats was cool when i heard that
Easily my favorite Metallica album... not even sure what second would be...
@@pocketeights8 I agree 100% maybe maiden the number of the beast my 2nd
pocketeights8 Ride The Lightning
pocketeights8 Ride the Lightning
The odd timing still throws me no matter how many times I listen to this song. Never gets old. Great video man. Great insight.
hmm, it seems so smooth to me, LOL...
Dude there is no odd time signatures on this song, I think you meant to comment this on a Tool song lmao
@@nyima04011 It's 4/4 the second time around. But the first time is a mess (in the best way possible).
@@Michael_Dolences. it's 4/4 the first time too, count it out while listening. Lars just does an offbeat thing with the kick drum and snare for the last half of the bar that throws you off the rhythm.
@@Michael_Dolences. It's not a mess. It's called rhytmic displacement. Lars simply shifts the beat forward for a bit, moving the upbeat onto the downbeat.
48 yrs old listend to this when i was 14....rocked the whole album again this past sunday treat yourself and listen straight thru also, think of their age when they wrote this
This album had a continuous, ethereal atmosphere, present in every song. My all-time favorite Metallica album.
Your reactions man!
"WHAAA?"
rolls it back
Subtly slides mic out of the way (lol)
Jaw drop
Lol... im cracking up
But ooooh that switch up! Nice and gritty with a slow roll
And it always makes me laugh when you start looking around you like you can see the music from your headphones around your head.
Orion was about Bass.. RIP Cliff.
Still one of my favorite Metallica tracks! Enjoy the ride
I agree! Kirk the Ripper Hammett. He is unique and no one solos like him. You can hear his voice in his solos
If you like their instrumentals you should try “call of Ktulu”
Metallica - My Friend Of Misery
The black album's instrumental... except, lyrics happened and they were too good to leave out.
Yes.!!!🤘🏼
Awesome song! So underrated!
You should definitely do To Live Is To Die. Absolutely beautiful, its a tribute to Cliff Burton who was the mastermind behind Orion. At the end is a quote that Cliff was fond of.
I agree with you. Hammett has been one of my top 3 since I was 13, in 91. I always hear listen to this guy, listen to that guy. He's better. BS. This dude has a way of making every single note mean something, with its own identity. Keep it up, bro.
He was taught by the best for n the business. Mr Joe Satrianni.
It's crazy as last night I was just telling 'Andy & Alex' to review this one especially because of the awesome bass parts. (RIP Cliff Burton) One of the best instrumentals all-time no doubt!
You really need to review 'Anesthesia-Pulling Teeth' and check out the 1983 live version to see how awesome of a heavy metal bassist Burton was (both in playing ability and 'headbanger-ness factor'). A great taken from us much too soon!
This song is a journey close your eyes and let it take you
A tsunami of musical awesomeness that flushes your skull out & washes your soul up on the beach of tranquility
Cliff Burton's Swan song. rest in Peace, Cliff
Kirk is the GOAT when it comes to lead guitarists 🤘🤘🤘.....please react to Disposable Heroes.....your mind will be blown away like never before....
Every note was placed in order just right. This song is about Orion. This song will take there. Nuff said!
Allot of people don’t realize that the solo in the interlude is actually James and towards the end it’s Cliff on bass
I’ve been listening to this for 35 years and to listen to it with you for the first time was awesome.
Yep Metallica has been kicking my ass for more than 30 years now damn close to 35. Damn I'm old.
Orion is my all time favorite by them. But to me, .....and justice for all is their best album, beginning to end. Keep the videos going man. Digging the content.... especially the TOOL reactions
this is the album that introduced me to metallica back in late80s. so I have deep appreciation for this album! every song is a banger!! this instrumental always makes me think of the late great bassist cliff burton! keep reacting to this album, check out Damage Inc....you wont be same after!!
This is my favorite Metallica song from my favorite Metallica album!
You seriously need to pay a listen to "Disposable Heroes", it's arguably their best song ever, 10/10 music and lyrics.
Man.
What a great video.
You made my day.
Greetings from Sweden.
I physically can not stop getting goosebumps of that intro and the solo. that bass is just life!
and that handover of the guitar (kirk) to have cliff (bass) join in on the very end of that already epic solo... you can't beat that.
You're going to love Disposable Heroes
Great reaction as expected from you, yours are some of the best! The song is an absolute classic. Saludos from Spain!
The guys from Metallica were in their early-mid 20's when this album came out.
Right there with you in your opinion of Kirk Hammett. One of my personal all time favorites, especially from that era.
Cliff Burton's bass starts the song (distorted)... then a distorted bass solo at 3:10 of this video, a clean bass solo at 5:35, and another distorted bass solo at 8:30.
3 guitar solos and 2 bass solos in one song - who cares about lyrics anyway? :P
You’re reactions are genuine...real AF.
Best Metallica Song PERIOD
You were digging that headbanging you are now officially a Headbanger
Best channel I have found, You get the Tool shit and Metallica stuff, good knowledge of your craft. Cheers friend!🤙🤘
if you love this then you have to listen to "To Live is To Die" ...my #1 song.
i just stumbled on your channel and i can tell you love the guitar, but this song is unique in the way that the bass is actually the biggest star, this is cliff burtons master piece and it shows, bass is the instruments that commands the pace of the song.
agreed! Kirk is amazing. it my book within the top 15 maybe top 10
My book of music number one 👑

Ahh sweet tool and tallica... Great start to the day =)
@DramaSydETV
Did you catch that from 8:31 - 8:50 was a Bass solo? 🔥🤘🏼
RIP to the GOAT, Cliff Burton!!!!
Man, I cried when I was a teenager and heard this instrumental for the first time and still, to this day( I'm 43 now) I get goosebumps and watery eyes man, great reaction!
that sound will take you on a journey
Nice one. What a classic Metallica song. Try Welcome Home (Sanitarium).
Good see ya vibing on Metallica
One u need to see live
1985 Metallica/ Day on the green
For whom the bell tolls
Here u see not only the late Cliff Burton
But the others when they were only 22 & 23 yrs old
Frigging mind blowing
Loved jammin out with you. Four Horsemen is still my personal favorite, but I'm glad to go on this journey with you.
DUDE YES YES YES YOU GOTTA DO A METALLICA MARATHON!!!!
I think you’d enjoy some Rush tunes. They bring it every time
First time I've ever heard that song. Great reaction. I like how you let it ride
This song will take you for a ride to the realm of your imagination. If you like music that will take you to another place, I strongly suggest you listen to Pantera - Planet Caravan.
Awesome watching your reaction. I could tell that took you on a journey.
It's amazing how an instrument can tell you a story.
From one Patriot fan to another , Metallica's instrumentals are the best in the business ..
Just subbed.....I like your style DramaSyde. You're a genuine dude.
Amen man. It is s a great album
Oh and i love instrumentals too so this to live and to die and kutulu is some of my favorite songs ever. The breakdowns in these songs are beautiful. No other genre can illicit so many different emotions than metal for me. Such a shame cliff was taken from us too soon.
Wow, loved that. Fist pumping for sure☄️
Kirk Hammett was rated number 11 of best guitarists of all time according to Rolling Stone. Came out a few years ago (more than 2, less than 6...lol) I’ve always loved him. I listened to them growing up (first album I bought was the black album...I was 14 when it came out, lol) and was OBSESSED. I haven’t listened to any of these songs in such a long time now, and it’s so familiar to me. Makes me cry a lot, lol. Goosebumps on almost every song.
Yes tool and tallica discography reactions cant wait.
Orion just might still be their pinnacle of aesthetic musicality....
It's hard to not be a good player when you are taught but the master, Joe Satriani.
Some of Joe's other students: Steve Vai, Alex Skolnick (Testament), Rick Hunolt (Exodus), Larry LaLonde (Primus), and David Bryson (Counting Crows).
Absolutely 🤘🤘
One of their best songs. I think their magnum opus is One.
Lol he was like let me move this mike so I can head band lol
1:23 is the only appropriate reaction to hearing Orion's central riff for the first time.
James Hetfield did a harmonizing guitar solo here, at the interlude
Just subbed. I want to take that Metallica journey with y’all man..!🤘🏼👍🏼🤙🏼💪🏽🔥
Welcome to my teenage yrs! Congrats.
Wowwwwwww
''Pulling teeth'' is another masterpiece, its made after Cliff's death, they have his record playing and decided to make a song by encourporating their parts to this bassguitar record - and boy they do that like no one else...
I think you mean To Live is to Die, not Pulling Teeth.
Great neck work out
Great reaction. For some new Metallica I recommend reciting to moth into flame. It’s fantastic
It is a journey to Orion man!!!
Great reaction!!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 epic Metallica
No one will ever do it like Metallica EVER
Metallica won a Grammy for their cover of Queen's 'Stone Cold Crazy' (credited for being the first 'thrash metal' song in 1974). Thanks for this one. And to think there are people who complain about "80's" music...
Metallica's covers... that's a whole conversation unto itself. They take a song and give it absolute respect but still make it their own. Stone Cold Crazy, perfect example. You can *always* tell it's Metallica, but you can *always* tell it's *Queen's* Stone Cold Crazy.
By the way, the second solo after the interlude is James Hetfield not Kirk Hammet!
เสียงดนตรีหนักแน่นมาก สุดยอดการเล่นดนตรีแบบเฮฟวี่เมทัล
I did a list of who I think the greatest modern guitarists are a while back, I hope you do not mind if I share it with you, Drama!
Blues - Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton
Prog Rock - there can only be one - David Gilmour
Metal - Dan Donegan, Kirk Hammett, Zaak Wylde, Tony Iommi, Chris Rorland
Finger Accoustic - Luca Straiagnoli, Marcin Patrzalek
Rock - Jimi Hendrix, Jimi Page, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Steve Gaines, Alex Lifeson, Tom Scholz, Peter Frampton, Angus Young, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Ted Nugent, Slash, Eddie Van Halen, Roger Fisher.
Country - Roy Clark, Glen Campbell
I have not included everyone from the rock & metal genres because it would make this list way too big. As you can see I have Kirk Hammett right up there
To live is to die of of And Justice for All
Huge album in their growth
Do it right, album by album starting with Kill'em All...then do them in order....it shows the journey of the band, their development, and history...
So you're just gonna throw out ride the lightning lol
@@fildenhardin7074 .... it would be next?
Metallica and zeppelin are my 1 and 1a of all time. Just depends on who I listened to last
Point of fact. That second solo...and the feed back guitar bits before the first solo...that's Cliff on Bass.
DAMAGE INC,
🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥
Ah memories of spending an afternoon in bed with my high school boyfriend playing this song on repeat ❤️😜
If you haven't listened to Damage Inc yet, you need to check that song out!! It will not dissapoint!!
Cliff (THE BOMB) Burton. Was there anyone better? RIP
Patiently waiting for DISPOSABLE HEROES.
I WAS BIRN FOR DIEING.
This 50 something y/o saw them this album tour...the line up...Suicidal Tendancies...Guns 'N Roses...Metallica...Aerosmith...
For my old ass...Orion was Metallica's apex song...and Master of Puppets was their apex album, they haven't made anything that compares to this yet. Tujillo is a great bassist, but Burton was the musical musical genious of the group.
Disposable Heroes, please!!! :D
Great👍
React them live. React to Metallica - Master of puppets live in Seattle 1989
Keep it 80s for great Metallica, back when they were still pretty much an underground band, that 80s Metallica is the greatest heavy metal ever created though.
Hands down, bar fucking none.
Brown lifes matter for Metallica 🙏
