Sweet! You ought to make a video and let us hear what it sounds like 😊
I’ll have a video in about a week of it playing on the main channel CZcams.com/jacobviral 👍
nice job on the build :)
Good job on that curve Port
Thanks turned out good for first time
Nice box 👍
This is the most detailed video on doing kerfs though, I still have trouble with the tuning part of it I need a 4th order but not sure how to tune it
Do what everybody else does.. shrink the port til you get the tuning you want lol
Exactly what overpriced sundown said. If you’re not a pro at designing/tuning enclosures make the port to big. Shrink it till you like the tune.
@Jon Doe just make to what you know is to big. Then you can make the length whatever you want and shrink it if necessary. There are several free box design programs online. For a 4th just use the recommended sealed size from the manufacturer. Then make the ported side twice that. So you have a 2/1 ratio. That’s typically most musical. The low tune is determined by what the sub will play down to in a sealed enclosure so you’re not really tuning that. Your only tuning the high side. A tune of 50-53 on the ported side typically sounds pretty good. So say your sub plays clean down to 25hz in sealed enclosure and you do a tune of 50 on the port side. If it’s done properly the sound should be pretty linear from 25-50hz. Peak around 40 hz. If you know anything about box building that will be quite easy to understand. If you don’t then you probably feel like you just read some thing in Chinese. Lol there’s lots of information on the Internet as to how to properly build a 4th. It’s pretty simple. I’ve built a lot of them and some subs just don’t work well in a 4th. Any sub that works well in a sealed box will do very well in a 4th. If a sub only really works well in a ported box it will not do as well in a 4th. 6th order is my favorite. That’s where both chambers are ported.
Very good job done
First time and worked ;) thanks bee
Kerf looks great!
Thanks poppa T was my first time too.
Gorgeous☺️ Nice work. Wait for new videos💯
Thank you!
Now you got to use an AMM-1 and see what it's tuned to.. but it looks pretty good for your first time... I never built one yet... awesome job brother,🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙 yeeeeeeeew!!!
Thanks Jose based off the length and port area it should be around 38-40hz
Diy'ing a box for 30$ and then using a 300$ to check the tuning is ridiculous. Experienced builders can build off rules of thumb. Tuning will change anyway once enclosed in a vehicle so the AMM-1 to me is just unnecessary luxury.
Edit: 450$ tool

@@GTILOUD that's how it's done brother
This so perfect bruh am building my box thanks for this video bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥 straight to point.
Your welcome it worked and turned out great
Great job.
Thanks Lou!
Nice
Dude you gotta give yourself more credit than you do. That box is awesome!
Thanks danny I’m not a pro builder and worked for me
You should look into building and selling those enclosures, I would definitely buy one
It’s a good idea but can be time consuming and expensive to ship.
nicework! should you put some glue in the dados? then make your radius and screw it. wouldn't hurt. great job!
Thanks it worked for me at the time :) Yes correct glue reinforces the port kerf.
Nicee
You should put the sub in and test it out after you build them 👍😎
I’ll have a video on it in about a week on the main channel 👍 CZcams.com/JacobViral
Your going to have to let us hear it.
Within a week in main channel CZcams.com/jacobviral it will play 👍
Nice job. You did good on the kerf. Just tune it 31-32 next time. Sounds so much better. Just me. I hate anything over about 35 hz.
Thanks Michael and for normal radio music and casual is why it’s tuned higher as won’t see the lows.
@@JacobViral2 considering you basically had a circular saw and a drill, and it was your first time ever doing a kerf I think you did a great job. I hope your CZcams gig pays the bills because you do so much for the car audio community.
I’m glad the brother got his own line of amps!!
I don't understand how you can be sure how many cuts to do, and still know how much of the board you have left for port length. Like how do you calculate that and still stand by your requested tuning?
I just used a box calculator to figure length after login the normal cubes achieved and desired tuning for port length.
Nice work bro. What box design software do u use?
I never use any software besides a simple cubic and port tuning calculator on 12 volt box calculator site.
Just watched your video and loved it....Been wanting to see how that was done without all the fancy tools. Appreciate all your help I'm gonna be atemping a box like this, but with 12 in double baffled ..question with a pair of 12s how much port area would I need? With your 10 inch box you used 2 in port.my subs are super beefy but bought them used and they weigh per sub bout 70 pounds a piece. Not sur what brand they are. They have carbon fiber caps and triple slug magnets...jus need help. However, awesome video .....
Glad you enjoyed Jeff. For a pair of 12s assume it’s 4-5 cubes so around 70-80sq inches of port area. Would depend on your box height for your width to be right. For this single 10 I just went for about 28sq in of port.
How did you find out how long that piece should be that you curfed
Port tuning box calculator for port length and then I just measure estimated within 1-2” on the length and as mentioned in the video I left afew extra incase error.
I don't really like that box how you made it I was wondering if you could send me the dimensions and the sizes I need to make that exact box for my car audio evil 12-in sub
I showed the breakdown on paper check 👍
2 yrs later and you still never posted a video of this enclosue in actuon 🤣 🤣 🤣
