I have been really excited to get back to a Dimash performance. This time, from what I was told, in a more operatic style.
He didn't disappoint, of course. Incredible, amazing and all the big words.

This original song written especially for Dimash by Igor Krutoy won both of them the equivalent of a Russian Grammy in 2019. And Dimash won the award for classical singer of the year at the same awards show for singing this song. It really is an awesome classical crossover song.

When I began listening to Dimash less than one year ago, I was incredulous. Then I began listening to everything I could. Then I found a collection of his songs on Spotify and began listening to him when I ran. The first song might have been Ogni Pietra. There I was, running along happily when all of a sudden I felt cheated. He had stopped singing and some soprano had taken over. That was my first experience realizing that Dimash is a one-man duet. When I got home I found the song on youtube and realized I had been hearing Dimash all along. He is simply the best performer/musician/singer in the world. Thanks for reacting to this beautiful song. We had the same reaction. The first time I heard him was in the Britany Speers "remake" video, whose "reaction shots" of the judges from AMG I find quite irritating and distracting to his singing; especially once I realized they weren't real but cut into the original footage. Anyway, SUDDENLY, as I was looking away, he jumped one or two octaves and I thought WHA? He is beyond magnificent and, not very ugly!
The real title of this song is ‘Olimpico’ (Italian song) and it was written by Igor Krutoy for the opening of the European games especially for Dimash. We are hoping that Dimash may sing it at the Olympic Games in Tokyo! Plymouth UK 🇬🇧

This was the closing ceremony of the World Skills competition in Kazan, the song was written by Igor Krutoy for the opening ceremony of the European games in Minsk last year Jun/July 2019 and Dimash performed it whilst the athletes entered the stadium. When it was written Igor said "I've written a cantata for baritone, tenor, counter tenor and soprano" Dimash said "I'll take them all" This was a modern take on his opera voice, you should take a look at his duet with Aida singing "Ulisse" (another Igor comp) at Igors Ice show celebrating his birthday in Jan this year, he his in his formal opera mode !! 👌👌👌😊

This song is all about lifting someone up. You are stronger than you think, you are stronger than your troubles. It was used at the European Olympics. Basically to charge them up for battle. I find the song energising. Which is what I feel they were aiming for. Lovely reaction. 😊

His vocal ability, vocal skills that he has and his acting with charisma! The control of volume and techniques with many years experiences. Octave jump and down in a manner of a second, yet so smooth and seamless, connected and supported with confidence. The way he pulls you in the song with its vibe. Very army and authoritive songs.
I don’t think anyone is better than him at this point in terms of crazy range and technique.

You are right... as a high level professional he does know his own level of skills... but in his interviews often he says that as a perfectionist in the profession he knows where it could be better... but also he says that first of all we are humans, not singers, doctors, teachers etc. ... we come as humans to this world and leave it as humans... so be a good person is the most important in the life... he is adorable, wise... thank you so much for sharing your opinions!

This powerful masterpiece doesn't fit to the popular opera style. I'm also not a big fan of opera, but this pop-opera piece is just stunning. Even if Dimash perform the "Yellow pages", I'll still have goosebumps. 😄

It's not pop-opera 😊 it's a neoclassical cantata. But it's not his most operatic piece, that's Ulisse
Dimash does btw generally not do pop-opera, his main genre is classical crossover 😊 pop-opera doesn't feature actual classical singing, it's rather a mix in between (e.g. Andrea Bocelli)

What impresses me the most here is that, normally, if i'm not mistaken, opera singers with that kind of powerful voice and lungs, are big individuals, like Luciano Pavarotti for instance, but Dimash has a tiny body in comparison.
The beauty of it all is when he passes from that low manly bariton register to his angelic soprano tone: us Dears, we all melt.

It's actually not "THE" Olympic games, held every two years (if you count both the Winter and Summer games) in different countries around the world. They were in Sochi, Russia years ago, but this is not from that event.

This piece was written for Dimash by Igor Krutoy for The European Games of 2020. This is being sung here at his first big concert in a stadium in Astana, Kazakhstan. This concert meant a lot to him! I don’t know if you are aware Dimash has been classically trained since the age of 5. He has perfect pitch and plays several instruments. He was offered a job at the local opera house and he refused it because he didn’t want to see just opera. Dimash never lost his high notes like most boys. His mother is an opera singer. He has a masters degree in music. This is why he is so very special, he is not just a singer but a singer who know exactly what he is doing! He also protects that voice. He is a great singer!

@Italian dear 4ever But you get a better grasp of Ascolta La Voce if you know "Know". I think it makes sense to see Know first.
I think Lara's version is without words, but then they add words for Diamash (and melody changes), and he improvises on that while vocalising. You can see Ascolta la Voce is never the same, but it has the main melodic line from of Know.
However, I don't think they need to be done together for comparison, just one before the other.
When you're not really into opera but the song is so good you react to it a second time.. Dimash things!

I am talked about the world Olympics (following the Greek tradition), where different countries are chosen to host either the Winter or Summer games (each 4 years apart). This year they were supposed to be held in Tokyo, but they have been postponed until next year. I believe the last time Russia hosted the games, they were in Sochi, in 2014.

I'm not a fan of opera, either, but i absolutely LOVE this track. I've seen nearly every available Dimash video performance and this is one of my two favorites--right along with the "Adagio" performance on The Singer in 2017.
That was in "WorldSkills Kazan" Russia, the costume is that he wore for publicity and show at his "Arnau" concert.
that like all their concerts have a concept, an aesthetic line and a proposal different from one another. It is incredible that it is past 6 octaves, has developed a deep voice and it fits perfectly.

I watch this perform live in New York. Oh My!!! I was breathless . I was literally holding my breathe while he was performing, the most powerful and most beautiful opera that I ever heard. It was stunning. And I was like a disintegrating candle after that. There was no strength left of me. I wouldn’t say he suck it all out, but the beauty of this song is beyond description.

Yes, it's not your regular operatic song, with all that staging and the instrumental background, that outfit is great. His Italian pronunciation is very good, and if you check the lyrics, you realise how much of the message you got without them.
This was composed for him by Igor indeed. And he first sang it at the European Games opening last year.
There are more performances of it, this video is a bit out of sync.

I think that Dimash has the ability to see the notes, articulate them with his hand movements, and connects to them emotively as well. When he does his staccatos
he uses specific hand movements, with runs he uses specific figure movements and its also possible that when his arms are outstretched he is drawing the energy and emotion from the audience and instrumentation, (something he js able to blend in or compliment ).
