Pianist: *plays piano so Jacob leaves*
Jacob's brain: *Em11(b5)*
To me it sounded like a lack of respect
😂😂😂 most hilarious comment I've read in quite some time!!
@@BrunoNeureiter yeah it was an odd choice for a closing chord, seemed a bit salty didn't it
Everyone clapping :
Also Jacobs brain : harmonization predictions complete. Proceed to harmoni.... Oh we are on stage . Abort !
@@sasufreqchann hahahah yes!
Jacob: *wins for the second time in a row*
Everyone clapping again:
Jacob's brain: New challenge presented. Odd time signature. Identifying polyrhythm. Proceeding to subdiv... Back on stage. Stop.
I love how the announcers were pretty shocked, and stumbled in pronouncing his name. Nobody is paying attention to Jacob but he's everywhere!
At that time, the mainstream music industry had no real idea of who Jacob was. I'm pretty sure they're all starting to take notice now. The jazz greats sure have!
Sound like the audience never heard of Jacob. Poor audience, their loss.
almost nobody cheered when they read "Jacob Collier"
lmao right I was so sad, but he still kicked ass
I can't think of any artist this young more deserving of the accolades. Hell, I can't honestly think of anybody in general more deserving.
Geoff Stockton I was stoked when I saw Sammy nestico on that list but DAYUM JACOB DESERVED IT. he's absolutely brilliant
I can't remember the last time I've seen somebody RUN to get an award.
Jacob is just...
*sighs*
There's no part of him I don't love
Simon Mitchell Bjork running into Alexander mcqueen arms receiving her awards was also iconic
Bjork!!!! She runsss like all beast
888th like
Lovely a creator he is
I am never distracted when he speaks.
but he is. :P
I'm distracted but thats probably my undiagnosed ADD
This guy is brilliant & humble. What a winning combo.
brilliant yes, humble is debateable haha. He's praising himself for getting a Grammy on his first album at age 21... Which is fine with me btw.
Psychedelta Blues humble is good but if I do something as amazing as that, I will strut a little
totally agree, not very humble but super talented
Mr T in fairness, if I was that great, I feel like it’s kind of backed up. however, he’s extremely humble in a lot of other circumstances
I red it as being grateful for receiving the award so young; not boasting.
Gives those speeches like a pro! Holy shit.
he's throwing names like Quincy Jones and Stevie Wonder at the age of 22 as if it's no biggie hahahah
I mean... he's not wrong haha I've never heard someone so young speak so eloquently and justly about where the music industry needs to go. He is much more deserving of this award than he can imagine and just his talent and presence is everything he's ever going to need. Part of me hopes he's noticed by the mainstream music industry after this and taken to new heights, but another part of me hopes he stays precious and innocent and ever so true to himself in this little pocket of the world. He is an inspiration and a need in this world. Well done, Jacob!!
why on earth didnt they play the arrangement he won for when he walked up lmao
their sound system probably couldn't handle Jacob's music
The orchestra didn't have the non-existant notes on their instruments
0:31 I love how gracefully he went and got on stage.
imagine winning two Grammys back to back and still being this humble
They seriously started playing the "wrap up the speech" music for him?!
cskillet2003 I know right?
I know. I felt the embarrassment for him when I noticed that. That was bogus as hell. He probably knew exactly what chord that was.
21st Century Mozart.
u think he's autistic? no way... both his parents were violinists and directors, his musical education is insane
what? xD
let's hope he lives a bit longer.. ;9)
You do sound like a bitter Salliery...
Nobody cares about your words man. Snobby little thing.
Turns out that wasn't a one-time award, that was an award subscription!
I loved it when he said that if we are encouraged to invest in our imaginations, we'll do nothing wrong. That statement to me is so powerful
It's almost like he KNEW he was gonna win...
When you're nominated and invited as a potential winner to an award like the Grammys, you won't go there without any preparation just in case you might actually win. I think we can clearly see the difference between the first and the second speech. The first one was prepared, the second one was obviously spontaneous and unexpected. :) I find it quite sympathetic and genuine. :)
rathork i agree
i feel like he wasnt expecting to win for the flintstones but he was really nervous for you and I
"I think we need to create right now in the music industry" (summed up)
couldn't be more true
nezkeys79 - seems kind of obvious though doesn't it? Creating being a good thing?
That man is helping us to get good music back to the industry
I love how he won twice in a row so they had to call him back
I mean Mozart was doing it 9 years earlier but he didn't have to deal with a crappy obligatory school system so I'll give it to Collier haha
Andy Chamberlain Music mozart didnt understand harmony like Jacob does
He had to deal with the Church though.
He didn't play twelve million other instruments either
The accepted rules of harmony at the time of Mozart was MUCH different than today's.
Andy Chamberlain Music all credit to mozart lol, but jacob is absolutely exceptional in many musical ways. Mozart however innovated everything, but i bet collier will also eventually change a lot. Jacob is easily the most talented musician right now.
Just waiting to his speech in 2020...
this aged well 😌
@@catherineluk2414 i literally forgot about this comment, damn, thats crazy lol
There is no reason why he will not receive this award.
Well deserved, multi instrumentalist and a knowledge of music theory and harmony vastly superior to nearly all charted artist these days and that have been in the past 30 years, it just goes to show how basic minded the music industry has become over the decades, to many fame seekers and money generators, not many have the desire to put the hard work in to create something beautiful and actually be talented and to take something away from that journey in this day and age, well done.
Legend already - plus he knew he was going to win as he had his Fred Flintstone shirt on :)
Imagine how the other nominees must've felt losing to "Flintstones".
I DON'T EVEN KNOW HIM BUT MY TEARS DOWN MY EYES AND MY HEART FILLED WITH PROUD AND JOY TO SEE HIM STANDING THERE, TWICE. GBU JACOB. THANK YOU FOR BEING EXIST AND BEING YOU.
I love that "For King and Country" gave out the award. That's awesome :)
I knew they looked familiar. Thanks!
ikr
Same here!! Hope they collab >_
YAY! Jacob, and thank you Quincy for keeping your eye on the pulse of modern music and creativity.
even 2020 he still runs to get his award
Well deserved...he is a genius and blessed with a singular talent.
Fay Samuel he is a wonderful singular and instrumentalizer
Slash vocalizer. B-)
Absolute. Jacob Collier is such an inspiration.
love my man Jape "Jacob" Collier
this man is a legend already. I've been a fan for years and CAN NOT WAIT to see what he does in the future. Dare I say, I hope to work with him some day in some capacity. He's absolutely brilliant.
His voice. 🤧😍😍😍😍
This boy won two more Grammys this year and honestly he deserves it
The boy is a legend!! His musical brain is far out...no one is ever like him...👍❤💥👏
haha he should have started harmonizing with the "finish up your speech" music, would have been legendary! #IHarmU
“People don’t need lots of expensive equipment.”
Look around you Jacob you have like a million instruments
So...?
He also composes and performs using lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, water glasses, rocks, and nearly any other object one can find...and a cheap laptop is under $300 where 30 years ago recording equipment was in the tens of thousands of dollars so... I think one can safely say that his point is valid.
calchip he does have a high quality audio recorder. But he is right about people do not need the best tools to sound good.
He also Have a computer Worth 30.000 dollars.... So. I would like to mix more tracks and complex multi video. My computer wouldn't handle it. Or make use of more instruments. But nevertheless the idea os what matter most
He’s clearly saying it doesn’t have to start that way.... he didn’t start that way .... he was lucky to me in a conducive family environment but ... they are not wealthy family ... and it was a single parent family
He speaks in such a well put manner I fall in love with him every single time I swear
He really does deserve everything, he is just absolutely fantastic. Has set the bar right back up to where every musician should be aiming for.
He is So Humble!
He was born adult and professional. What a genius!
No wonder why I didn't see him. This was pre-telecast lol. 2 Grammys! Fantastic!
What a great speech, and such a calm demeanour as well. I would be shitting myself up there, but he just runs up
Congrats Jacob! You totally, totally deserved it!
That Gmin6 with a 9th in it just to mark the end of his speech...
yaaaaaasssssss so happy! hes so deserving!
He wins two awards for "You And I", and "Flintstones". And the band plays "Start Me Up", and "Family Affair" instead.😂😂😂
Hahaha Yeah I forgot they were cover songs so a missed opportunity indeed
Amazing, I love his way of thinking. He's so right. We need more creative people, but not just creative people also people with more appreciation to what creative people do.
Class act.
Why are the mic stands so short ????
Probably so it makes them look more humble, bending slightly down
I simply love him. Hes so genuine and inspiring
and so his total domination of the musical world started… this young fella will be a legend
Incredible! I love this.
he deserves 10000000000 grammys!!
Congratulations!
❤️❤️the best👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Bonkers!! Back 2 back even...lol!! You're a genius J, and I can't wait to see what you'll do next.
HE WON A GRAMMY??? why did no one tell me ?!
Two Grammies. Yeah boiiii.
hxlxnska zssiiil
Because Carbi B was the only one people were talking about , ( So damn sad )
@@LOLO3000 4 grammies

*wins 2nd award* "where was I"
What an AWESOME young man!!!!!!!
That boy good!
I love the way he runs it’s like he’s about to take off and just fly through the roof
jacob the only person to win a grammy for a song he covered
You are a very eloquent speaker.
Great Jacob!
Jape!
ok Grammys, u lived up to my expectations, so congratulations grammys
Incredibly well deserved!
I love how they brought him back out 😂 Absolutely love Jacob! Well deserved and extremely talented. He’s such an amazing person.
wow what a dude
2017 and still they can't put the mic stand to the right height.... some more awards and Jacob is going to have a problem with his back -.-
lol he walked out to Mary J Blige's Family Affair for his second award
thank you good sir, couldnt find that joint in my dusty mind
Genius at 25 damn
What a guy...

StevieQuincyJacob
only one wooo, when the announcer said Jacob Collier, lmao
🐸 thank you 🙏 so much Jacob 👍
nice piano at the end...
I wish he started harmonizing with the speech music at the end
2:55 Strong words at the end. Awesome. Straight up to a system bound crowd. Noice.
....and the Grammy award goes to...
Jacob: hold my beer mum...
would've been cool if he was like 'as we're enveloped in a beautiful Em7b5 chord, thank you so so much'
why are the grammys so empty
These are done in the afternoon of the “Grammys”
He just won another one
Holy Geoffrey! Someone adjust the mic stand for the poor young lad! Gripes!
Just came here to see if he wore shoes.
Why is it so empty there?
🌍❤️✨🎶🎶
what a cool guy. extremely talented, and wise. quite inspiring!
#OdedFriedGaon #OdedMusic #Audioded
頒獎都不放得獎音樂的,是鬧哪樣?
Why don't play Awarded music on the stage?
jack50806
It’s a complicated arrangement mate
I bet some of the audience looked him up after this and were like "Oh shi-"
