This Cake IS A Chocolate Lovers Dream
Its Very Moist And Delicious
RECIPE:
1 cup salted butter softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp pure almond extract
3 large eggs at room temperature
2 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups whole buttermilk
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the butter, sugar, brown sugar and flavorings. Cream for 2-3 minutes until combined. Add the eggs 1 at a time beating well after each.
Sift together the flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add to the creamed mixer alternately with the buttermilk starting and ending with flour.
After all of the dry ingredients have been added, stop and scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl. Beat the batter for 30 seconds on medium-high until creamy.
Pour batter into tube pan
Place into the oven and bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes back clean. Cool in the pan for 30 minutes until the sides release from the pan.
Carefully remove from the pans and cool completely on a cooling rack. Frost as desired.

Thanks for informing the public on what constitutes a pound cake. Traditionally the pound cake contains a pound of the four ingredients. 1 pound flour, 1 pound sugar, 1 pound butter and 1 pound (4 large) eggs.

Chef Jeffery, I made this cake just now. I watched the video when you uploaded it few weeks ago and knew it was going to be good. I was not disappointed. The only thing I changed was I added 1/3 cup of boiling water with 1 instant coffee packet. I made a melted butter and cocoa icing and poured it on while still warm. I baked in a 9 x 13 pan. So good! This will be for memorial day tomorrow. I made a small tester cake for myself so I know its good!! YUM!!!! So glad you made this recipe!!

My grandmother made an actual cocoa pound cake. She was frome Georgia but they also were made in Alabama too. The texture of hers was like a pound cake. It baked for an hour. I have her recipe.

Is it because of the pan? I have a small version that my Aunt gave me. And the middle lift's out just like your's. I also noticed that there was a triangle shape cut into the paper, why not just leave it with a circular cut out? German chocolate cakes require wax paper on the bottom before cooking.
