Dan Marino was the QB for the Dolphins during the 80s and 90s. He was playing himself in this movie. The laces make it easier to throw the ball. But kickers always want the laces out or away from where their foot contacts the ball.

Captain Steubing and Gopher and Doc were characters on THE LOVE BOAT. Used to love the theme song to it. I taped it as a child. on my wee child's tape recorder. the early 80s were kinda fun.

Kickers like the laces out because it makes it easier to control the kick. The back of the ball is smooth, whereas the laces could change the trajectory of the ball depending on how your foot hits them.

I no expert. But I believe the laces on the football harken back to the old days. When the ball was wrapped in leather, rubber underneath, and they stitched the leather cover up with laces. Now, it is just for appearance / tradition / better grip. Modern manufacturing can cover the ball in leather and still maintain the rubber inside, without any sewing or laces.
Ray Finkle's mom (Alice Drummond) was the old librarian who gets scared in the beginning of Ghostbusters, and the mental hospital Doctor (David Margulies) was the Mayor.
You two are at least as entertaining as the characters in the movies you watch together!

Lois Einhorn was the name Finkle used to become a different person. Finkle escaped and saved that article of the missing hiker so he could steal that name. Lois Einhorn was a real person who went missing

@@nsasupporter7557 I honestly think something went wrong with the marketing on the sequel. I've met very few people who prefer 1 over 2, but the second was a massive failure in the box office. It's crazy, because it's SO damn funny!!

Jim Carrey was the narrator in a little movie called SIMON BIRCH I highly recommend reacting to it. I think it’s an incredible movie. Cute, funny and very touching.

Historically, the laces were actual laces that held the ball together, but the so-called laces on the ones I had in school were just made out of some sort of molded material (like plastic). I don't know if professional balls still have actual laces or if they're imitation ones too.
