  • French filmmaker Vincent Moon travels the world with just a backpack, a laptop and a camera. He’s filmed Arcade Fire in an elevator and Bon Iver in an apartment kitchen - and single-shot films of a Sufi ritual in Chechnya and an ayahuasca journey in Peru. In this talk, he explains how film and music can help people see their own cultures in a new way. Followed by a performance by jazz icon Nana Vasconcelos.

I met Vincent Moon in France and got a chance to talk to him. He is my cinematic hero and I learned so much from him. His films are so intuitive and his vision is so simple and clear. I love his works.

Was at Vincent’s public talk in Moscow yesterday. He is so inspired man! And one thing he didn’t say at TED - he prepared before shooting his film thoroughly, but in the end it is always improvisation. It gives you more involvement and intimacy.

You didn't say the least. You could have said "it sure is something". Or "It sure is". Or "It is". Or " ". THAT would literally be saying the least. Actually, you didn't literally say anything, you typed it. Take care wolf man.

Mekratrig Of course it isn't the variant you speak, because english isn't his first language. I just find it interesting that i'm neither english nor french, yet I understand him. I wonder if that has anything to do with that I listen to english from the 'outside', so to speak.

His accent is so thick it is distracting. Sone might say that's attractive but I think if your English is close to unintelligible, that's a bad thing when giving a speech.

they have english subtitles and other subtitles on the TED.com website. You can also download all the videos at a very low (or high) quality. Their website is really useful. I suggest using it. But they don't put subtitles on the youtube unless the talk is not in english
