A masterclass of model car photography lightning. I have 10 years in photography and have watched so many videos and tutorials on different topics regarding lightning. This is hands down one of the best I've watched, not only because the step-by-step explanation but also these techniques can be used in other types of photography as well. Hats off to you Doug.
Thank you for your effort in putting this tutorial together. It demystifies the lighting techniques by showing it stage by stage. Very much appreciated!
You're very welcome!
The trick to correctly set up the tripod is underrated .. thank you
Its like unlocking another part of your brain here that you didnt know existed 👍🏾 amazing work!

Very good car modeling photography tutorial.
Thank you for all the tips.
The sriracha sauce bottle really brings the spice to your photos😊 Super video, I will try some of those tricks
Thank you for sharing your photography knowledge.
Thanks for the great ideas!
Thank you very much for sharing.
This is great stuff. I shoot pics of diecast cars and do many of the same things. The big one for me was adding the reflector cards on the sides, makes a big difference. You can control the light and with just a few moments turn a blah pic into a great pic
Thanks a lot, Wonderful details explaining, you are very good teacher indeed 👍🍺
Thank you! Very professional!
Great tips Doug! One thing you should have mentioned but not needed in your shots is to be sure to dust off or blow off the car to get rid of dust. Many people take pics of their models and are covered with dust.
More photography videos to come!
Thank you for sharing your experience and tips and tricks on this subject. I am happy to learn your approach and will give it a try on net photo-session :D

I just came across your channel. I am always intrigued by people that work well with their hands. I was building model cars as a kid but have nowhere the skills I've seen here on youtube with professionals like you. Amazing work!
Well this has opened my eyes !!!!
Such great technique. Can't wait to try this out. Thnx ..Happy Modeling..
I have no interest in taking on a new hobby in learning photography buying books on it etc., so your simple visual demonstrations with the different colors sheets is so elegantly simple to understand. The straight forward approach in bite size pieces of this video is greatly appreciated. Thanks for the great video and information.
Glad you found it helpful!

Amazing video, thank you so much for sharing. I struggle with photographing my finished kits but, I really enjoy it. You have given me some much needed information that I'm going to try out on my next shoot. Thanks again for sharing the knowledge. Have a great day. -David
Superb !!!
Thank you for the level of detail you gave in this video but yet still keeping it simple for anyone without camera passions or background to complete the task. I have been shooting as a photoG since 2012 with my DSLR at mostly motorsports and I learned a few more things today (one year later from your post :) ). Getting myself in the die cast collecting and even making custom die cast cars and some of these tricks are going to help me with photos of my collection. I have a decent setup already with my Elgato light box, but need to add some rolling background and positions for side cards for diffuse the light better. Thank you again and CHEERS!
Glad it was helpful. Have fun creating your images!
Simply, amazing! Thank you.
Excellent advice. I must admit it would be interesting to see the photos. Thanks for the video.

Amazing, just incredible to watch an artist work. Thank you
Wow, I just watched this during my lunch break. When I was a kid I had maybe 50 1:64 scale cars. Lost them all on a trip. Started collect and may have gotten up to 50 again. Don’t ask where they are. Im already kicking myself. At 47 I just purchased about 7 1:64 scale but after seeing your video I may have to go up in scale where the detail models are.
