It's not shown here, but I find amazing how beetles have their wings protected and *folded* below their shells and how easily they seem to just deploy and retract them like if it wasn't any big deal. That is an outstanding design by nature, compared to other insects with permanently extended wings.

This video got me into a rabbit hole of a search into beetle wing folding mechanisms, talk about Origami !! Still not sure how all those tiny wing pieces don't break within a few flaps, or stowages. There have been divorces initiated by trying to fold up a camp-a-van for god sake.

Cabbage white butterflies 4:47 are a garden pest. Lay their eggs in, yes, cabbage, who drill into the head and eat before emerging. The beautiful blue flowers behind it are an invasive weed here in Michigan, cattle who eat it sicken and can die.
All is not pretty / pretty in the natural world.

I'm curious about how inspects land on their feet, do they have toes or claws to grip with, or are their feet sticky like a gecko? What do their feet/hands look like?

How many times slow motion is this? My Canon 90D can do 4x slow motion. Is that enough?
Shot at 480 fps, the playback speed of 30 fps gets divided into that, so 16X.

Photographing flying insects is not easy -- try it sometime!
@@davidhopkins7270 I struggle a lot when I take photos of motionless insects with my PowerShot SX70 HS camera. I do not use focus stacking software because this is just a hobby. Making video of flying insects is far beyond my abilities. It is impossible to do it well without high-speed camera: Phantom Flex4K (4K at 1000 fps), or at least Chronos 2.1-HD (HD at 1000 fps). This video was made with Sony RX 100 VII. The Sony camera can do HD at 120 fps - not fast enough.
Do a video yourself and show the world how it's done
