The past 2 yrs for vacation - we usually go to the beach for a week - I will change my shipping time to 5 days 48 hrs before we leave - make sure I don't send any offers 48 hrs before we leave because if so that will fall under a quicker shipping time dependent on when they pay - Posh, Mecari, Depop, Curtsy, etc if something sells I will contact the buyer explain when it will be shipped & if they don't want to wait I just cancel the order for them - It has worked really well so far doing it that way - eBay is just so hard to get back on track when you do time away - Great Video (but of course they all are) - Thank you for all you do in the reseller community - For what it's worth I would of totally been fangirl for YOU & Ashley - Ya'll are my absolute favorite
awww thank you for watching and your kind words. And yes - ebay is tough to get started back up, which is why I didn't want to do time away. I actually made decent ebay sales while at flipcon, but now that I'm back and changed my handling time back to one business day, sales have died again. Sigh.
Enjoyed this chat, Becky. I was so curious about FlipCon, would have enjoyed being there, and loved hearing your stories. There's something about most resellers being so down-to-earth friendly, love the ways they build each other up. I agree Ashley just oozes sweetness and authenticity. I doubt if I'll ever have a YT channel, so I'd be a total unknown at an event like that. But I follow most of the folks you mention and do feel like I know them. Josh and Haley are definitely among my favorites.
I'm also a former teacher, but never tried being a reseller and teaching at the same time. Kudos to you!
I am thrilled you mentioned the mailing to a man vs woman because I do the same thing and my friends make fun of me lol I won’t use the floral polymailers for men in case they view it as flirting it’s SO ridiculous but I’m in deep at this point

Great video Becky! I'm a fairly new reseller & have learned a lot from you! One thing I do if I'm shipping Priority Mail and I feel like it needs a tad more tape is to reinforce with a couple of Priority Mail stickers. Hey, they're free...lol

I have been buying from Jiaro through Amazon basically since I started reselling last year and didn't know it! I really love the quality of their products.
Tip: slice/snip a small hole at the bottom of the bubble mailer to help with getting bulkier items in there. It helps force the air out from the bottom that might build-up when trying to shove the item in there. Cover that up with tape, and you are good to go :D I learned that from another CZcamsr, and it has saved me plenty of times!

Enjoyed your video. I use to write thank you cards but purchased thank you biz cards that promote all the platforms I sell and referral codes that has saved so much time. Always looking for ways to best use my time in reselling so I can maximize the time with my family. I do tape priority boxes but I use the priority strips to reinforce the box. Have a great week!

Next, I have a question regarding selling something for a friend in which you get a cut from the earnings but not all of it. When it comes to taxes, how do you report that because when Poshmark gives you the end of year report with earnings, it’ll be there as if you made for example $24 but you split the earnings with your friend so you really didn’t make the $24. I am fairly new and still learning. Hope I made sense lol.

I feel the same way about going full time with reselling. I'm currently a nurse and that's where my heart and passion is. I love reselling as well, but I don't see myself going full time with it because of my love for nursing.
I go to Palm Springs a lot and only stay about 3 nights. I always just push out my handling time. I only use vacation more if I am gone for a week or more. Sometimes I will take the extra step and just msg. The buyer and let them know I will ship out on such & such date. I have not had a problem doing this and I still make a bunch of sales.
I do reinforce with tape on the ends. I mailed a mens suit jacket once in that box, and it was empty and open when it arrived at the destination post office. Not sure if that was accidental or theft, but regardless extra tape cannot hurt.

It made me sad to see you say you didn't think people would know you, care or etc at Flipcon. While I didn't go, you would have been one of the people I fangirled over. I'm one of your biggest fans here in Hoffman Estates, IL since you started channel. I sell 90%Ebay/10%Facebook Marketplace. I think alot of CZcamsrs, content creators and resellers forget your audience watches for YOU!!! I follow you because you show real life of juggling career, life and reselling as a woman while also living in IL. Also as a Black reseller, there are not a lot of minorities on CZcams doing reselling content...so always looking & supporting diversity in this space. I also follow Prime Time Hunter because he is a psychologist/reseller like me despite I don't do yard/estate sales or sale his type of inventory. I follow Ann Eckhart because she was a female caretaker and reseller like me. I don't sell on Poshmark, Amazon or WhatNot but follow people who sell on these platforms and still gain knowledge but just apply to Ebay and Facebook. We all do the same thing at end of day. Stop selling yourself short girlfriend🥰😘❤

I would have loved to meet you at Flipcon I only live 45 minutes away from Charlotte, but work FT and not able to get away those days!!
I’m a teacher and I took last school off to go full time. I’m going back to work this school year. Things worked out financially, but I absolutely hate depending on reselling as my main income. Maybe if I were to build my own customer base, but Poshmark and eBay often work my nerves. I’ll probably look for a work from home job soon, but for now I’ll be back in the classroom.
I now tape all my USPS boxes after having a box open and contents lost by USPS. 😥 And notice you struggle like I do peeling the adhesive strip without leaving a tiny edge. I don't know why it does that.

Do you check your inventory at least once a year to make sure you still have all the items that you have listed? I know sometimes on eBay older item drop off the platform and I don’t realize it until I do my inventory count at the end of the year. I have found that this happens sometimes if an item goies off on auction and buyer does not pay.
What are you using to buy your shipping labels? I use pirate ship.
I always reinforce the USPS boxes. But, I'm a worry wort 😂
I keep advertently keep learning new things. Never heard of BULK MAILING for an individual seller. Although it does confirm the fact that there are flat rate boxes/envelopes which I can not get Ebay to make a label for. You need to explain more about Ebay shipping and flat rate boxes because I am completely in the dark as to how they handle postage. And you said you would never send flat rate box through Ebay. But you did not explain it more fully. I save all paper from CHEWY deliveries. And I cut down any poly mailers I receive - down to smaller size and I can use them again. NOW - since I have only sold a few times this time around - I have lots and lots of shipping supplies.
I thought if someone paid for priority mail we have to honor that even if we miscalculated the shipping because ground advantage would take longer for delivery and the buyer was under impression they were purchasing a priority shipping. Congrats on many sales I enjoy your videos!
I believe you’re right. That being said, I think that because of where I live, packages get to the buyer at about the same rate whether it’s going ground or priority. The majority of my packages reach their destination in 1-2 days, so for me, it’s never been an issue. I am by no means saying this is best practice, but it works for me. Please do whatever you are most comfortable with 😀
Yeah buyers are noticing with the new shipping and if it takes too long you could be setting yourself up for a negative

Hey Becky - wish I could've heard you speak at flipcon! (did they stream it?). I have a question.... how do you deal with lowball offers? I feel like it's gotten worse on PM especially. People expect you to just GIVE stuff away. It's common for me to get offers for 50% or 60% off the price. I'm feeling discouraged to put in so much work and then get these skimpy returns because the offers are so low. I even ran a big sale and people STILL gave me offers even lower than my sale prices!! do you have a strategy?

Haha, I do the exact same thing with the whole hearts/dashes thing! Especially if it's a woman's item with a guy's name. My thought always goes to what if they have a crazy wife or girlfriend who thinks something's happening when it's not 🤣 I don't know people are crazy out here so I'd rather be safe than sorry

I also had such a basic Madewell tank top that I bought in the early days for the brand that just recently sold after sitting for 2 yrs lol! So I feel u there.
