    Man, you are so lucky that you live in warm climate. Here in Sweden in the winter it’s very cold. Between -15C -25C. My Nissan Leaf 40kwh can not manage more than 120 km when car was new.

    I own a 2017 leaf with a recently installed 40kw battery pack from nissan.. I
    got around 170km/ 105 miles with 11% battery life left when I took it on a real world drive test . I drove at speeds of 50mph - 75mph. In B mode.
    I'll be doing another real world drive test and post it on the tube when completed.
    Cheers!

    I drive a Leaf 40 and my safe range in winter is 110 miles. In summer it is 140. I get up to 170 in summer but I plan journeys based on my "safe" ranges.

      Safe range in 100% charge?

    • @GordonHudson
      @GordonHudson Před rokem +2

      @@doddsalfa Yes. With 100% charge that was the range I knew would be safe under all circumstances.

    I get about 4 miles / kWh, so around 120 miles with a safe buffer in mild dry conditions. However in my diesel car I can get *33.2 billion light years* of range on a full tank. ;)

    I own a Leaf 40 from 2019, when I drive in E-mode in Winter (Sweden) I can drive 170-190km. In the summer I can drive 240-260km.

    Really good looking car, isn't it? My neighbours bought their Leaf two years ago and seem very happy with it, as I am with my Fiat 500e.

    Just did the same thing on my 2022 40 kW but at -5 C. Got about 165 km range to the bars before turtle mode.

    You have 30km left at 3%. There is substantial buffer under 1%. You would have made at least 210km

      I can confirm that. I drove my 40kWh Leaf to slightly below zero. Leafspy showed 3.5kWh remaining.

      When you have %0 on the dashboard, you have approx %10 in real, according to Leaf Spy. That means another 20-25 km for worst case scenarios. But that's not so good to drive on that levels as you start degrading the battery.

    Hello, thanks for sharing this video. Quick question : how many miles/km are taken away when you turn the heat pump ON? I mean lets Say, the total range would be for exemple 200km With the heat pump off, If you turn it on, what would be the range displayed? For me, I lose 20km each Time I turn it on which IS approximately 10% Lost ..

    Hello, I am interested in the battery status after 50000 km. how high is the SOH? because are you loading the vehicle? TYPE 2? always 100%?

    • @bluephantas9620
      @bluephantas9620  Před 2 lety +2

      Hello, 80% of time is type 2 home charging during winter in nights, during summer during day from solar. Time to time speed charing. It still shows 100% on the vehicle, since I don't have spy leaf, I don't know exact figure. Anyway, biggest degradation factor is time/heat, rather than charger cycles.

    He seems to have no idea and sounds bored. I own a tekna 40k and in winter 3/4 deg c it won't reach full charge, as stated by makers. Why is he driving on a motorway, fairly level, in gear select B? That is meant to help 're charge the batteries when a lot of the journey is downhill! There is more, but! Why do people who have little or o idea do car tests or any other tests. Make some money? Fine, but they mislead the public.

    • @bluephantas9620
      @bluephantas9620  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi Ian. Thank you for feedback. I am not bored, I am not youtuber and have years of experience with electric cars and we also own several. We charge to 100% as we need range and we use it as regular car. After 4 years the battery is still above 90%, so no harm there. We are used to travel in B, regardless of the road. I don't agree that I've miss-leaded public as all I said was correct. I shared what is like to drive on certain road, on certain time, with this car. Nothing more, nothing less. Good luck with your car :)
