This is the song my dad asked me to play at his funeral for him when I was around the age of 5 or 6. He passed around a year ago. This song keeps me going through the dark days I can't seem to get by. It helps me shine through my issues.

This is a great example of what the 90's music scene was about. Song value over everything else. We all know collective soul could shred a guitar solo for 10 minutes, but they decided to make music that let the songs message speak for itself rather than just laying a face melting guitar or drum solo for 3/4 of the song. I've appreciated this band from day 1 and will do so until my end.

Circa 94/94...I livied in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh to be exact... shuffling around in a tiny little music kiosk inside Safestway grocery store. No CD's, no albums, no 8 track's...only tapes, as in tape recorder type.
"Hints allegations & things left unsaid~"

Hello, Ed. I wouldn't expect you to remember but Michaeline, you, and I met (I thing Dylan may have been there) at an Atlanta party for Rick Miller last year. You and I deep-dive discussed music and vintage guitars in the den and dicovered our mutual love for National Resophonic guitars (mine's a 1936, 14-fret Duolian). As we talked I felt your genuine heart & soul...and since then I've been listening closely to your music going back to "Shut Up and Dance". This is to thank you for the artistic gifts you've given us and for your genuine devotion to family and friends. The world is a better place with you here, Ed! -Doug Pratt, Atlanta, Georgia, USA

This song is the song that got me started! The song that introduced me to the world of Rock 'n Roll. My favorite song of all time! Every time I here this song I smile with a big grin :). And now it is being played in car commercials, amazing! and for good reason, it is a great song that keeps the legends of the 60's and 70's alive! Oh, and if you like this song, you should check out 'Where the River Flows'

My mom use to play this song when I was young.. thinking of all the struggles life brought. Strong woman, ill give her that. You gotta appreciate what you have.. rather than what you dont. The whole fkn album is amazing but this one is my favorite, next to "heavens already here".

LQuavius Cowbitch They don't identify with Christianity because they just don't want to be labelled a "Christian group." Now whether or not they are followers of Christ, I don't know.. But many of their songs are definitely influenced by God and His awesome love.

I actually don't believe in any one singular god i believe in the spirits of our predecessors but yea man. We all need guidance in these troubling times no matter where it comes from.
