Lassie Lps I would say drawing is like singing some people do it because they just have a lot of natural talent and don’t work too hard too improve, some have natural talent but still work hard to improve, and some have zero natural talent and have to work really hard to improve
It’s also like singing in the fact that some people believe you have to have a lot of talent to do it and can’t/won’t learn

I'm actually feeling relaxed cause I know I can still improve. Like I'm 20 now, and I'm always thinking I won't improve. But having a scetchbook helps you to draw and practise more. And now I looked at the stuff I drew when I was 17, and there's some decent realism portraits there which I stopped doing cause to me it's just boring. But I sucked at cartoon-y drawings and I saw how much I managed to improve in that field

I feel so much better now! All of my friends improve in like, a day! Literally! One moment their faces are looking like BLEH, then they come in the next day like, WHAT THE HAY?! This showed me that it takes time to improve at art and I shouldn't let other people's drawing abilities affect MY love for art! Everyone starts from somewhere, you don't just pop into the world a genius. Thank you so so much for making this video!
A bunch of people who couldn't draw when I was younger just asked their parents to draw and I got so annoyed because I would sit at home for hours and just draw and then the next day like over half the class would say that the just got their parents to do it and I would feel so defeated but now in high school there's no way out of them having to draw and I feel so much better about my art.
Sorry for going on a rant.

Austin Killebrew people always say practice makes your art better but really if you don't try new things or learn more about art you might not improve. If your art is still the same maybe try new techniques and search random tutorials on CZcams. Always try and learn new things about art. I don't know if you already do those things or not lol just a suggestion from a person who is trying to learn to draw🙂

I am 17 and I started sketchbooks last year when I entered 11th grade.. before it I was really indecisive about what I want to do cuz I was supposed to decide by this year, and it was a lot of pressure. But I discovered that I love drawing and creating something from nothing but a piece of paper and colour pencils!! It helped me cope through difficult times. I am going to pursue art as a career now and am trying to get into the top design school in my country! Hope I get in for it would be a dream come true to do something I love!!! ( I see u had a ball pen and water colour phase! Lol I just went through those and realised they are Soo cool! Hated water colours before this!)

What I like about this, is that you kept on drawing, even when you had 0 supplies. You probably took this book with you everywhere (when actually it is pretty big and must be quite heavy). That is passion 😊
honestly to see how rae has developed her art really encourages me to improve mine. as school has started back up I've started to not draw as much. rae is such an inspiring artist in my eyes and I really look up to her when I think of art. she's so real and I really appreciate her showing where she comes from.

I'm actually really happy to see a redo of this sketchbook tour. I feel like you are a lot more comfortable and open in this one and it makes me so happy to see this progression. As someone who is currently 17 and starting out my journey with art as a career (Looking at colleges, e.t.c) It makes me feel better to see how my current art compares to some of my favorite artists' work from that time period of their life. I think its' really awesome that not only can you put up your old art and share it with everyone, but that you can talk seriously about things that a lot of people can't or won't. This video actually helped me a lot. I’m 17 and I’ve been in art classes my whole life. From realism to cartooning, I was put through it all but I kind of lost some creativity through some of the classes and my passion for art is finally coming back. But yesterday I got really discouraged with my lack of progress etc. I’m also in the same spot with financial aid etc. and this video gave me a lot of hope for the future, thank you so much. I actually got inspired to doodle while watching this and was super proud of what I did, thank you!!

9:40 My parents have had the same issue. My parents barely made enough to keep a two bedroom apartment, but according to Financial Aid they were good enough to cover for me. Even when I moved out on my own, they declined me because I wasn’t “independent yet” because I hadn’t had a child, nor was I 23 yet.. it broke my heart that I’d have to take a class at a time at a community college.. I feel this REAL HARD.

So many times people are like "here's my sketchbook!" and it's just like completely finished great illustration after illustration and any real artist knows that's usually a sign of BS. Sketchbooks are full of half-finished shitty sketches because that's how you learn and map out art pieces. I'm always super suspicious of sketchbooks like that. But yours is awesome and shows growth so that's really nice to see!! I like seeing all your random sketches, it's very relatable :D
People use sketchbooks in different ways. Some people only make finished illustrations. Some people (like me) have 2 sketchbooks, one for more finished art and one for stupid sketches.
