    I put one on my new generator awhile back and I just ordered one for my new compressor. Every machine that has any kind of prescribed, hourly maintenance schedule should come with an hour meter FACTORY INSTALLED. I don't know why the makers of these machines won't do that but it irritates me! This out to be a friggen law!
    You did a great job. Andy... Someone has taught you well. Gentleman that you are... Tell the thanks.

      I agree. Doesnt make sense why they dont. Its a $10 part!? Thank you very much! My pops taught me a lot. Had great parents that were and still are great examples to me.

    Had to move shops and lost the copper tube at the top, I was hoping you could help identify the part.

      The copper tube in between the electric motor and the pump?

    • @ReelSpider

      @@Fixin2Ride-Official- No, between the pump and the tank, big 3/4 inch thing. Just got off the phone with Quincy, they said just bend a new one by hand.

    Please put a cord grip on the power infeed cord as it enters the enclosure and strip back the excess sheathing inside .. Other than that...good install

    Great job! I like the clean install in the mag starter enclosure. How do you like your compressor so far? How many hours do you have on it?

    • @Fixin2Ride-Official-
      @Fixin2Ride-Official-  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks! I absolutely LOVE IT!!! plenty of air for my sand blasting setup and other tools. Since the install of the hour meter Ive only put about 2.5 hours on it. But I havent been doing a lot of blasting or powdercoating. But if I had to guess in total of hoirs before installing the hoir meter... I would say I have about 10-12 hrs on it.

      @@Fixin2Ride-Official- Nice! I'm looking at the Quincy QP series myself, and the hour meter is such a good idea for maintenance intervals. Why don't they put one on at the factory??? Your compressor sounds super quiet in the video, would you say that's the case? I would also recommend an automatic tank drain, such as the Tsunami Moisture Minder. I am definitely going to put one on my new compressor, as I am replacing an old 60-gallon that has sprung a leak in the bottom of the tank due to neglecting to drain the tank regularly.

    • @Fixin2Ride-Official-
      @Fixin2Ride-Official-  Před 2 lety +1

      I highly recommend that you be pressurized oil system series. It will last multiple times longer than just a splash lubrication system compressor. Yeah I don't know why they didn't add that as a feature on the compressors as it's a super cheap option. But yes the compressor is super quiet and I'm in a one-car garage so that was very important to me. But yes I actually did put an auto drain valve that is adjustable as far as frequency it kicks on and duration. I have it hooked up do a timer as well so it will kick on every 12 hours no matter what.

    • @RollingLogs21
      @RollingLogs21 Před 2 lety

      @@Fixin2Ride-Official- awesome, lots of great information, thanks! It'd be cool to see a video on how you hooked up a timer to your electronic tank drain, as I have not seen that done before!

    • @Fixin2Ride-Official-
      @Fixin2Ride-Official-  Před 2 lety +1

      So it's just one of those wall timers as my electronic drain plugs into a 120 Outlet so I just put the timer in the outlet and then plug the tank drain power cord into the timer

    I'd be interested in what eaton product that is, also, did you put a 30a contactor on it?
    Also, it looks like a standard eaton disconnect, so you would cover over to the breaker disconnect.

    • @Fixin2Ride-Official-
      @Fixin2Ride-Official-  Před 3 lety +1

      I used the same connectors if not better for the hour meter that were used to connect the motor power supply. I havent had an issue yet and I use a sand blasting cabinet and it will run of anf on for a couple hours at a time on big jobs. Sometimes 20min+ straight if Im trying to blast through thicker coatings.
      Thanks for watching!

      @@Fixin2Ride-Official- Thanks for the reply. I was curious if the air compressor came with the start circuit but it looks like many do. As opposed to some models that just use a heavier duty pressure switch. Thanks for the content.
