    I have an Avatar. Chinese made and imported by Avatar in Hastings. 1100cc turbo diesel with five speed manual gearbox, huge winch and massive tray on the rear. Manual is brilliant and way better then CVT in my opinion. Fully galvanised chassis (is great) and 2x4, 4x4 and diff lock in all modes, full cab with front and rear windscreen. They get a bit of a poor rap but affordable and well built. Have the 6 seater (second hand) and love it.

    Interesting vid on the feed breaks. The gorse is a big problem for you my dad 30 years ago one of the fields there was gorse coming into it he fed cattle with a ring feeder kept moving around with every feed it improved the fertility kind of renewed the pasture gorse didn't come back if it was now would just unroll hay across the field than use a ring feeder there was a bit of poaching round the feeder. Thank you for the videos.

    Hi mate
    Honda are by far the best however they are dear and at the moment have major supply issues. I also have a Polaris but wouldn’t buy another. Avoid the belt drive types.
    We use porcelain reels tied on with wire, a technique I learnt 20 years ago and now have thousands done. They take 25 seconds to put on but will last a very long time and no maintenance required. Bugger that walking up and down looking for earths.
    Videos are great. Good to see a Kiwi perspective.

    Shorted yourself a bit on the spread sheet with 4250 mate. Reading in the paddock was 4350. Unless I missed something which is quite possible. Really enjoying your vids. Your professionalism motivates me.

    Hi Alastair, farm lower North island, great channel, have pioneer 1000,grunty, they do cost to run tho. Hd9 seem a good machine if cvtbelts don't give you to much trouble. Did you make your xcel template? Cheers for the content.

      Hi Adam thanks for the message. Where abouts do you farm. I was brought up in the manawatu. Yep made the spreadsheet myself.

    We’ve had the pioneers and got sick of the issues . Small loud and gutless. Wouldn’t rate the new Polaris rangers that I’ve tried at friends . We’re on our third can am and had a really good run. Would be patient and order soon cause the wait is dynamite. Agree with Ian being easy to deal with 👍🏻

    All grass wintering would that be economical for sheep and beef farming to do daily brakes or two days. Or would it be better for hoggits on daily brakes.

    • @kiwifarmernz
      @kiwifarmernz  Před rokem +1

      We are looking at all grass wintering. It wouldn't be any more work than our current system. You could do up to 3day breaks on grass (which we have done in the past).
