Hey Ambassador, can you do me a favor please? Unplug your foot controller and hook the little male plug up to an Ohm meter (one probe on each side of the little black line on the plug) and tell me what your Ohm readings are when 1) you're not touching the pedal at all (machine not moving position), 2) the pedal is full depressed (super-fast position). If you get zero ohms when open and 50,000 ohms when on at full then I'll know that it's something other than the pedal causing my machine to be unresponsive. The 6600 and 6800 series machines use a different pedal than most Singer machines and I can find NO info on the thing. Thanks!👍
I love this machine I also have the manual one as well. I have just started using the decorative stitch alphabet stitch and CANNOT get the letter "A" to come through it literally is the only letter that does not work..Helpppp!
I’m concerned with the cost of repair or is it more difficult to repair a computerized sewing machine. Should I even be concerned about repair of the 6800?
I have a brand new 6800c and because i am a genius and didn’t reach instructions. I was sewing on heavy drapes and used the needed provided when you first get the machine. I broke several needles and took out all the broken parts base and tip. But I don’t know how or why the machine keeps stuttering. I believed that I had the need replacement put in correctly. Please help if you can.
Most likely you will need to change the sewing speed to slower and change the needle size try denim needles they work for canvas as well so it should be good if not go for leather needles . Try it on a scrap fabric of the same material first and make sure the tension isn't to tight and increase the stich length if need for easier sewing. 😊 I hope this helps!!
