In this interview, Mob James spoke on growing up in Compton, and noted how he used to be a member of the Mob Piru. From there, he broke down the history of the Mob Piru, saying they are different from bloods. Mob James noted that he joined Pirus around the age of 12 or 13, and became fully immersed by 16.

Actually, I'm not gonna lie, it almost happened with me. One time I was walking down the street one night downtown, and this scruffy looking white dude zipped by me on a motorized wheelchair. He almost clipped me, then had the nerve to look back over his shoulder and say sum slick shit to me like i was in his way. I seriously considered catching up to him and rolling his ass down some stairs, but I caught myself.
