When I have a tough day, which are many, I can come here and watch and listen to you and it really helps me relax, you are a treasure. Thank you so much.
Robin, the walk with your companions by the large green field with the white flowers in bloom was something to behold. Also, I am always intrigued by your walks through those very old cemetery grounds with their weather-worn headstones leaning in all different directions. (Your Michigan friend)😀
So here we all are, in the year of Our Lord, Sunday 14th April 2024 and it looks like Nostradamus prophecy aka Iran et al, etc. And I/we have the joyous occasion of Robin and pals, to keep us anxiety and stress free with a wonderful trot through the Churches of the Coswolds. What a Blessing. Thanks guys from Ireland 🇮🇪😊
I love that heritage centre, and I saw its latest brilliant exhibition on those impressive women from the village's history - we need to hear more stories from history like that!
Really enjoyable to join you Robin on your visit to that lovely village Churchill, our country has many cultural treasures not least of all its unspoilt ancestral hamlet villages. A word on the memorial erected by the duchess in memory of her father, perhaps she sees it as a good representation of the father she obviously adored! That it appears as he did to her, Solid and unpretentious?
My take on the name was much more basic, I just thought it meant there was a church on a hill and the village grew round it lol. Loving your videos. Cheers Cheryl 🙂
Another fascinating and beautiful video. It would be interesting to see a vertical aerial view of the fields to trace out the evidence of the old village road and buildings; I've had a quick look online but can find only oblique images. On the matter of the fountain, on this occasion I feel inclined to agree with Pevsner; the structure seems far too massive for its village location. Many thanks to all the team, and I hope you, Robin, are regaining your strength once more.
Lovely church, pity about the memorial fountain, which to my mind is not so much ugly, as hugely out of proportion, looking something like a distant and much poorer relation of the Albert Memorial.

My English friend had a beagle named Ducey!
Lovely video, Robin, but I got caught out by the camera 'sea-swell' gentle as it was.
