- FRUGAL LIVING video is here! The cost of living and the price of food has increased so much that many people use a food bank or food pantry to make ends meet. The food pantry is a great resource to obtain food and household supplies. There is no need to go hungry when there are great resources out there for everyone to use, if you qualify. I encourage you to apply to your local food pantry or food bank if you need help with groceries. It's also a great place to meet new people in the community. If you do not qualify for the food pantry or the food bank then please check out your local churches as that could be another option to get help.

Food Haul & Food Pantry Hauls Are Such A Blessing To Be Able To Have
There is no shame in going to a Food Pantry, a Food Bank or a local church for help with groceries. The cost of food and the cost of living is high. If you have low-income, lower income or no income then the food pantry may be a great option for you! Inflation prices are rapidly increasing, so more people are using their community resources and programs than ever before. Using your local community resources to help offset the cost of food can help you stretch your paycheck or retirement funds further. Keep in mind that sometimes the food has gone bad. There are times I have received items from the food pantry that were spoiled. Sometimes the food is very out of date and not suitable. Please check the best by dates! If you receive spoiled items, then I'm sure it was an accident. Food banks and food pantries move a lot of inventory and there are times when the food has turned. They have a lot of food that comes through and they're not perfect. Volunteers help rotate and shelf products at the food pantry. Just keep your eye out for best by dates to make sure you are getting the best quality items you can find!

I live a Frugal Lifestyle. I shop sales and squirrel away supplies for winter. I am mindful to stock up on everyday items to save money in the long run so I can pay for daily living expenses like electricity. Every purchase I make is a financial investment in my future. It could be a bottle of water or a can of beans. Part of my frugal living lifestyle is using my local food pantry and shopping at thrift stores. Each organization has their own rules and if you qualify, you become a consumer to their program so please follow their rules to maintain a good relationship with your food pantry or food bank. I still have bills like everyone else and I budget according to my finances. Although I am considered financially poor or low-income, I do not feel poor. I eat well.

HOW TO GET FOOD BANK HELP?
Contact your local churches or you can ask the county. There is nothing wrong for wondering how to get food bank help. Each county has a social services department that can direct you to food pantry resources in your area.
WHAT FOOD DO YOU GET FROM A FOOD BANK?
All types! I get all types of food from the food bank from unknown brands to name brands. Each shopping trip is different. I also get a lot of seasonal vegetables to cook with. Some food pantries offer staple items like beans and lentils, other food banks may even offer organic food.
FOOD PANTRY NEAR ME TO DROP OFF FOOD?
The best way to find a location near you is to contact your local churches, google search it or contact social services.
HOW TO QUALIFY FOR FOOD BANK?
They go by how much money you make in most cases.

Hi Sara. Perhaps you can show us how you prepare and cook your raw meat / beef /steak that you get from the food pantry on your Friday videos. There is only so much you can show your viewers how you reorganize your small space. It would be a nice change.

Good point on the rice! I been thinking on getting a chest freezer or if I should upgrade to an "apartment" sized fridge that comes with larger freezer.
To night was my grand baby birthday.and we went out to dinner at a small local diner, run by the people that volunteer at the food pantry go to we got roast beef Manhattans and my grandbaby was singing the pepper song and some lady at the next table said that it was a wonderful song and my grandbaby said that it was from your CZcams channel I think the lady said she was gonna subscribe I give her the channel name. have a good week thanks for the wonderful video.😋🍲

so nice to have some fresh from the garden tomatoes. they look so good. we used to get fresh tomatoes for my uncles ranch. i need to go to a produce stand as the store ones just don't match. (wouldn't it be nice if my sense of taste came back for fresh tomatoes - or even just a bite). sorry you got a couple of duds. today is the first day it has been under 100f. 98 wasn't too bad. i sold my old car today - it will help to pay some bills. none the less, i hope you have a good week. see you next time. stay cool, sarah.

The mosquitos tore me up on the 4th of July! What a day it was. Mr. Turtle is guarding the porch and says Hello! I think my man likes to hear the Pepper Song. I am happy he got me some pepper, too!
Love the homegrown tomatoes. I feel like that could be a luxury for those who are utilizing the food pantry. Glad you could get some. I love a tomato sandwixh so much in the summer. Also the filet Mignon sweet. You got some great finds this week love it. And that bone broth. I know you've gotten that before but that is always a great score. And the whole milk chobani in the full size. way to go!!!
Yes they had great items to choose from! The homegrown tomatoes are fantastic, really happy to get to try them. I love a tomato sandwich, too! This hot weather has been out of control this year. I just cannot wait for Fall and Winter to get all cozy and have lots of hot tea.

Another great visit to the food bank! Just a note, I used to store my salad into mason jars because to me that will make the salad last longer in those air tight mason jars if you have a little more room in the fridge! I know you eat salad really quick so in case one time you don’t that’s what I used to do when I did meal prepping
That's a really good idea! Thank you for your suggestion. I have my Ball Mason jars and I could fit them in the mini-fridge if I lay them down. I try to avoid salad going bad but sometimes it happens because the salads are on their "way out" so to speak by the time I bring them home!
@@CareFreeLivingChannelyeah I used to do weekly meal prep, I made some salad in a jar, and you put the salad dressing on the bottom of the jar and then the veggies and proteins, so that way the veggies don’t go soggy

If you are cooking for one person I would definitely start a meal prepping from food pantry items! That would be a great series for you I think! I hear veggies are a real problem at most food pantries. I wonder if they are using refrigerated trucks to ship them. Rotting vegetables is no fun!

WOW! A 2 pack of filet mignon! That truly WAS a awesome score of the week! My 1/2 gallon of milk that I got at the pantry this month, was spoiled too. I was very sad about that one, as I was looking forward to eating some cold cereal. Oh well.
I'll be digging through the meats, and you never know what treasures will be available! Transporting dairy must be tricky in this super hot Summer. Sometimes the food pantry has individual size milks, I've had good luck with those being good!

That's true! I think I need to revisit "meal-prepping". I did that when I had a larger fridge. I might upgrade the mini-fridge, I just been waiting for it to stop working but it's like a work-horse and keeps on going!

Thank you! There were a few more items that had turned. The nut butter was also bad. I thought it was still OK even though it was expired, but it tasted bad. I had to let that one go! I enjoyed the fireworks, too!

Awww thank you very much! It's cotton, very lightweight and I wear it a lot especially in Summer. I got the top from the thrift store. The buttons need to be sewn in a bit better but that will be a good project for me to practice my sewing skills later!

Thank you for your question! My man is a meat and potatoes kind of man and likes to cook his own food. He always tells me my plates look good, but I do eat alone mostly. One day I'm going to make one of his favorite childhood meals and surprise him, that will probably be when I upgrade to a stove and have multiple burners!

I LOVE Nutzo. It's pricey i get it at costco because the humongous jar is like $2 more that that jar which the one you have usually runs like $9 at kroger or publix.
I had no idea it was so expensive! I wonder why some of these products are at the food pantry sometimes. The nut butter had expired and when I tasted it, it tasted off. I don't know if it was the flavor, but I didn't want to risk it!

Please do some vids of using raw meats. I have chicken,pork and beef in the freezer. I have crockpot and air fryer with racks. Plus how to work with all these bags of Lentils and rice....please. We plck up blessing boxes 🙏 😅 📦. So we get beans,rice and lentils every month. I have so much and want to do something with them. Thanks in advance. ✝️ ❤

You have to be careful when you eat so many greens you can get kidney stones that happened to me. I was told that by the emergency doctor.

I really enjoy your videos but you don’t eat a lot of protein rich foods. Maybe cook some lentils and the meat you get but we never see you eat. I think it’s funny when you eat breakfast and it’s different

For sure, sometimes the food pantry items are already on their way out! I was surprised at the yogurt but it is what it is. Those cheddar biscuits looked and smelled good but just tasted strange. Maybe they forgot to add salt or something!
