- In this lesson, we'll cover some G major scale exercises starting with a basic G major scale. We'll then work or way up to 8th notes and 16th notes. We'll also take a look at scale folding techniques over a G major scale. Use these exercises as warmups or as practice. Increase your fretboard fluidity and fill in any weak spots you may have when going up and down the G major scale in the open position.

What a boss!!
I discovered Daley's Reel in Bb. And another version in what I think is G major. Either way it's a great tune, one worth learning to play. The Bb major version is way more challenging, but one a serious mando player should eventually get under the fingers.
10,000 hours figures out approximately 3 hours every day for ten years. That definitely took dedication and motivation. I struggle to motivate myself to play one hour a day.

They literally teach you to practice running through the alphabet before they teach you how to read. Analogy failed.

I agree. Daniel Barenboim the great pianist and master musician said he never practised scales and excersises but concentrated on the music.
