I got a question I ain’t never targeted shad with a fish finder how do you position your self over them after you find them

I’ll scan with big motor then when I find a large enough school, I’ll turn off big motor and sneak up with trolling motor. I’ll speed up towards them with trolling motor then shut it off and drift into the school. It’s important to have the net ready to throw as you move in on them. As soon as they show up on the 2D sonar I’ll throw my net before they have a chance to move. You kinda have to be fast. Especially in warmer times of the year. Hope this answers your question.

You catching bait in a lake or what river??

Iv caught them in both rivers and lakes. Iv found the lakes to be more productive. All my shad videos are on lakes. I might make a river one soon.
