I just turn 40 and I like to look back and listen to these songs, because this is Classic America! I'm so sorry like an artist like Andy Williams is no longer with us. Let us honor them while they are alive, because artists like this will never come again.
I'm 58, and I have watched and listened to this song about 8 times tonight. Such beautiful singing and glorious harmony by these two super singers. When TV was REAL, and the people that entertained us week after week were (are) real. Simple and pure. I listen to Andy Williams music anytime of the year, even the Christmas music. We will never forget you, Andy. RIP.
These are two of the greatest performers ever. This clip confirms my argument that there was more quality TV programming available 45 years ago with 3 or 4 channels than there is today with 200+ channels.
I have been to every Andy Williams CZcams site since he left us and not an indecent or unkind word has been said about him. In fact everyone thinks Andy Williams was a first class human being and I agree. RIP Mr Andy Williams,
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,,
I am 56 and grew up with my folks listeniing to this man and all the others of that time. I have very fond memories associated with Andy, Frank, Tony, Dean, Steve, etc.... and will miss Mr. Williams very much........ P. S.> My last name is also Williams and I always hoped that somewhere down the line, we were kin. :=)
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,,
He was such an incredible singer who had made such a huge impact for so long. The world lost a great talent and wonderful person. Rest in peace Mr. Williams.
Such a shame that this generation doesn't hear beautiful music like this. When we were kids...sure...we were listening to the Beatles and Stones during the day...and that was great.....but then at night.......our parents would have these wonderful variety shows on and we would be exposed to such truly beautiful singing.
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,,
I have seen this video 238 times at least, and always I feel the same, an admiration of both for this performance absolutelly perfect, full of charm, ellegance, quality in their voices and each one singing first and second voice. Both singers the most important of sixties. 1964 - when this show was realized - is 1 year before of The Sound of Music movie. The music "In a language of love" is so so so beautiful. And please, pay atention to the orchestra, probablely live (they are in the plato), equalized perfectly to avoid volume cover voices of singers. The deep scenography, colors and light spot means deep is blur. All is perfect! Cristian , Santiago CL
I have noticed something very interesting. When we hear romantic songs created before '60 normally they result "old fashioned music", funny but not touching our heart. But when we listen music after 1960 (Moon River between many others from Henry Mancini, Burt Bacharach, Enio Morricone ) those songs are nostalgic and authentic romantic melodies, wich they touch our deep heart and soul. This song interpreted by Julie Andrews and Andy Williams is a master piece of all times. I thing they togheter singiing is from another planet, not earth. Sublime! Christ, Stgo CL
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,,
Why comment if it is vicious in light of gems like this. What a wonderful clip of two great artist in their moment. It brings back a lot of good memories for me as a young teen.
I'm 46 and I remember watching his shows with my parents. Besides loving his voice and handsome face and sparkling blue eyes, Andy was my very first crush! :-)
It is well to remember that America tuned in to watch these variety shows while young men were dying in Vietnam, held prisoner and tortured by the North Vietnamese,1965-1973. When I think about his, every song sung becomes just a little more special. God Bless you, Andy Williams. And thank you veterans and service men and women, protecting our freedom.
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,,
And neither of them were trying to show the other up. They sang to complement each other's voices. Now, if you want a treat, listen to Andy singing the original "Speak Softly Love" from the Godfather - and most especially, listen to the last 5 notes...prepare to be amazed!
What an idiot I was 40 years ago! I used to think these two were square. This was one of those perfect duets: two beautiful people producing beautiful sounds. And of course Andy grew up harmonizing. It's made an old man cry, I'm afraid.
This is just wonderful! The sweet voice of Julie and the imortal voice of Andy Williams. Andy had an enormous talent to sing and to choose the songs. Sentiremos sua falta, Andy.
Wow.....their voices are like instruments............I wonder what happens to people with voices like this today?................it's a shame they aren't on television on Saturday nights entertaining us.
I could not agree more with you sir. A talent lost forever and the likes of which we will never see again. Could I suggest yet another treat. Have a listen to Andy and Connie Francis singing "Watch What Happens" . I have played this clip so many times now and still I can't get enough of it. Eye contact through the entire song and perfect harmonies as well. An absolute treat...............From another OLDER fart, a very hard to concede 70 year old who still thinks he's 39.
It's an absolute treasurer to be able to appreciate and enjoy this master piece w/ two (2) legends at the top of their game. In my opinion this is the best duet I've ever listened to and watched... two total class acts off the charts and it made my day to see it. Don't forget to share it w/ your friends!
Andy was a smooth singer in his time and always will he's one of the great crooners that young jazz singers these days take after. Music like that never dies. Julie was a great singer too.
J'adore ce duo. Julie Andrews est absolument irrésistible ! C'était la grande époque des années 60 ; si l'on pouvait faire un retour dans ces années bonheur.
I was 15 and studied in a Catholic high school in the Philippines when this show was aired and I had just seen Julie Andrews in the sound of music and I love her.
Love how they both stay true to the song. They give a good song such warmth and emotion. I also love how they give a sincere smile to each other as they sing. Such a love & respect they have for each other.
What happened to our world that we don't have performers like Ms Andrews and Mr Williams any more..? Everything now is digitally remastered but this is real talent...
I agree. Watching this show in the 60s as a boy I got to see many of the great singers perform in my front room. We in our fifties are lucky, we saw Dean, Frank, Sammy, Andy and many others at their greatest, and with it a musical education. And fun too! Remember cookie bear?
You're looking at true professional singers, today's singers can't hold a candle to Andy Williams and Julie Andrews! I think it's a lost art unfortunately. Julie Andrews is absolutely beautiful!
Something else we've sadly lost: the smooth and mellow mix of orchestra and voices, the craftmanschip of the sound technicians who made this possible without digital magic boxes. Bytheway, I'm Dutch (The Netherlands) and the A.W.Show was broadcasted overhere when I was a little boy (was there a crazy bear in it?). Somehow, since then Andy Williams has become the voice and sound of America to me.
No gentleman more perfect than Andy ever lived or ever will. Class to the max. RIP Andy Williams.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is what happens when you blend the sounds of an angel and the sounds of a golden voice. God bless both Andy and Julie!
I will love Andy Williams forever, and will always remember him.
I'm 53,and I have been listening to Andy's music for about 47 years. He was simply wonderful!
Rest in Peace.
I'm 54 and I remember watching the Andy Williams show as a kid and being absolutely amazed!
I as a singer and admirer of andy williams will miss him forever
I just turn 40 and I like to look back and listen to these songs, because this is Classic America! I'm so sorry like an artist like Andy Williams is no longer with us. Let us honor them while they are alive, because artists like this will never come again.
notice how andy's voice brings out the soft smoothness of julie's voice. i never heard her sound better. they are a wonderful duo.
I'm 58, and I have watched and listened to this song about 8 times tonight. Such beautiful singing and glorious harmony by these two super singers. My two most beloved voices in a Duett
Wonderful so Wonderful....

JULIE ANDREWS' VOICE IS WHAT MAGIC SOUNDS LIKE!
I am 56 and grew up with my folks listeniing to this man and all the others of that time. my parents watched back in the 60's and growing up I did too. I was 16 back in 68' and just got my driver's license. Go Andy/Julie, such great artists
Julie was my inspiration to sing..I think she is a fantastic singer. I had forgotten she came on his shows.

Just enchanting and so, so nostalgic!

Andy’s harmony is perfection.

Julie is singular, incomparable, world class.
Andy Williams a wonderful personality..Rest in Perpetual light....Andy you made my family so happy when I played your songs at home.

Pay attention modern day singers, this is the way it's done!
+Jerry Gioia Sr I'm pretty sure this is lip-synched...

I‘m afraid the modern day singers don‘t understand the high art of "lip-synch".

These two voices were meant for each other!! Just beautfiul. What talent.
Adorable! Love these sweet duets from yesteryears.
Beautiful singers.
Beautiful language of love.
I grew up on this show. A couple of Andy's albums were truly HIP with hard-swinging arrangements by Robert Merrill.
Mary Poppins meets Moon River! Absolutely great!
Couldn't agree more. I love heavy rock, The Who are my favourite band, but this is outstanding. Bring back easy listening!

I love their music!!! Great couple! just great!!

Absolutely live this duet! First time hearing this slow rock format.
I was 15 and studied in a Catholic high school in the Philippines when this show was aired and I had just seen Julie Andrews in the sound of music and I love her.
Magnificent!..what a wonderful performance by 2 greats that i absolutely love.
Two of history’s most golden voices.
Wonderfully beautiful duet.
Absolute Perfection!
Love how they both stay true to the song. They give a good song such warmth and emotion. I also love how they give a sincere smile to each other as they sing. Such a love & respect they have for each other.
I grew up watching these shows in the 60's I forgot how wonderful they were, awesome.
The Language of Love. Havent heard this for decades. Even remember the words. How lovely
Andy was the warmest guy singer and Julie was the best girl singer. Fabulous.
Oh absolutely, they definitely were pure class. It's a pity Julie is no longer able to entertain us with her amazing vocals.
What happened to our world that we don't have performers like Ms Andrews and Mr Williams any more..?
Everything now is digitally remastered but this is real talent...
Two of the best singers on the planet, it must be so heartbreaking for Julie to have lost this gift.
Absolutely Brilliant & Beautiful. Grew up with this never knew it would leave us forever......Maybe it won't.
"Other moments outclassing - guardian angels are passing". Two legends singing a beautiful song.
One of my favorites songs and my favorites singers.
Marvelous!!.
