സാർ പറയുന്നത് വളരെ ശരിയാണ്. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് എന്നല്ല ഏതു ഭാഷയും സംസാരിക്കാൻ ഒരു കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റിയെ കിട്ടിക്കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ സിമ്പിൾ ആയി പഠിച്ചെടുക്കാവുന്നതേയുള്ളൂ. ഗൾഫ് നാടുകളിൽ ജോലി എടുക്കുന്ന മലയാളികൾ നാട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് ഒരു അറബി വാക്ക് പോലും പഠിക്കാത്തവർ ഇവിടെ വന്ന് നന്നായി അറബി സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എന്തുകൊണ്ട്. ഇവിടെ ആ ഭാഷ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവരെ കൂടുതലായി അഭിമുഖീകരിക്കേണ്ടി വരുന്നു അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ.

I am an English learner at the age of 66 as well. I retired from the panchayath department of Kerala,in 2011. You know how much English a normal goverment servant in Kerala knows. I was not different from the herd. But after retirement, I had a strong desire to learn English. Even now I am pursuing that dream of mine though I am still so far away from cherishing it.

Grammar is also important in the English language, especially when you write down your ideas or thoughts. Also, good English is always accompanied with grammar knowledge. But said that grammar should be learnt automatically and there is no need to remember the names of tenaes but only the usage. For that, listen first and then talk exactly the way a child learns his first language. Don't try to think in Malayalam and then translate that into English as that will never help you in learning the language because the sentence structure is just opposite in English. Think in English and speak. Read children's story books, listen to such stories initially (abundantly available on CZcams). Then gradually move on to listening to English news, watching movies, series etc. All the best.
