My zero waste New Years resolution for this year is: 1. Convert to minimal waste grocery shopping 2. Find as many zero waste alternatives for pet products as possible 3. Go fully zero waste on hygene products 4. TRY to find cheap and good quality skincare that is local to me 5. Thrift shopping! I’m going to be honest, I’m not sure where the statistics are coming from with the donated clothes being disposed of. Thrift stores are making a ton of money off of donated clothes and have increased the prices of a lot of clothes that are a specific size that use to be affordable. There is a lot of content and information out there on this information. I love that you donate your clothes to a recycling company, that is a great idea!
Something I like to do with kids clothes I like to take them to places like once upon a child because I can take old clothes that my child no longer fits receive money and purchase clothes that will fit her in the time and then when we're done keep them clean and return them again for bigger sizes. I know it's not completely and 100% State ability but for me it's an easy way to not keep too much in our home.
We’re a zero waste home. So we don’t create trash- the bags we’re more used for transporting recyclables to the big bin outside. & our recycling facilities don’t allow bags anyways so it’s just a bad habit better off, kicked!😄
@@loveofearthco you do realize there are areas of the country where recycling and bulk purchasing are not available? I reduce as much as possible and it makes me sad to know that I can only recycle cardboard and aluminum.
@@loveofearthco it was great! I grew up in farmers branch TX and the city would hand these out. I wish more would. They were really durable to and we’d just go get more from Home Depot if we ran out before they handed more out
What do you do if you want to buy a bag of pretzels or flour to make pretzels? You can’t recycle plastic packaging which is crazy how much plastic goes to waste. Do you have a solution?

Trash bsgs are necessary where I live. Loose trash blows all over the neighborhood when the bins tip to dump on trash days.

Oof I would continue to use bags for your trash. It reduces the likely hood of piece of trash turning into fly away litter!

You can by paper trash bags at Home Depot and other stores! My town use to give them out for free once a year
