I'm not exactly sure WHY I'm even saying this... but maybe it'll be, at the very least, funny. (or cringey)
The furry community has been an anomaly to me for a long time now, I can't tell whether I should like it or not. I've tried to isolate myself away from it due to how weird it is, but I'm strangely drawn to it like a moth to a flame. This isolation has only damaged me in the end, though. It's made me realize some things about my life, which has caused me to enter a downward mental spiral. I've become a depressed, socially anxious person. This year has definitely proved to be a HUGE change from the norm for me so far. Heck, I never thought I'd be listening to this kind of stuff a month ago, let alone stepping outside the comfort of my cave to say more than just a simple "howdy" to someone. And even though a part of me wishes to hate, I'm still finding a bit of enjoyment in the community. (despite "not" being a furry myself)
Why I'm spouting all of this is beyond me, and it baffles me. I didn't intend for this to be a sob story, but my emotions on the matter have been making me feel sick and I needed to offload this stress SOMEWHERE. (a furry ASMR channel is probably not the best place to do that, but whatever)
While I'm still a bit on the fence about ASMR, protogens have become one of my favorite species so I guess it all works out in the end, sorta. With all that being said...
here, have some RAM. (I know how protogens are with this stuff, I think...)
You don’t need to like all furry stuff or dislike all furry stuff, only the parts that you actually like about furry stuff. I myself don’t consider myself a furry and a lot of furry stuff is weird to me and i don’t like it, but some stuff I actually like, so I’ll take the enjoyment out of the furry content I like. even if it’s weird, if it’s not wrong then you should be allowed to like furry asmr if you’re feeling like you like it. To me It seems like you actually like furry asmr and you’re afraid to admit it to yourself. I was like that before. And I’ve slowly gotten more comfortable with admitting to myself that I actually like (some) furry asmr, not fully comfortable yet though.
So I say, if you have the feeling you like asmr videos like this one then admit it to yourself fully and just accept it and enjoy it. And if there’s parts of the furry community that you feel deep inside that you really don’t like, then i think stay away from those parts.
Does that make any sense? I’m not the best at understanding stuff or trying to figure out what to say to this, but hopefully you get it.
@@gameystuff6759 Yeah, I get what you're saying. I've just had an odd way of thinking for a while because of my own self doubts that've piled up over the years. I won't delve too deep into that here, though.
My unrequested opinion is: just take what you like and leave what you don't to others.
While it's healthy to stay "open", there's no obligation to have to "enjoy" everything labelled as "furry".
You probably enjoy the community because (in my experience) it's one of the most welcoming I know. There are still furries who hate furries so it's all human and normal ;)
Yet, I personally consider wearing a new identity to be therapeutic and liberatory. You can be as huggy and cringy as you want, just have fun and spread good vibes, they always come back :)

Even with the hand movement restrictions, your visual triggers have been the best out of any asmr youtuber I've seen. I don't know what it is, but it feels much more convincing

No idea if you already know this but with playing Vrchat there is a option to lock hand gestures so that the face won’t change but because of that you won’t be able to move the fingers on your avatar with that option on

You can disable gestures in the radial menu, hold the game menu button to open it
