Kushaq almost won even with a smaller engine, lesser bhp and 120Nm lesser torque. But respect to Mahindra.
Also consider the weight difference between them .. XUV700 is more than 2000 kg and kushaq weighs around 1250 kg

Kushaq performance was very good considering it's specifications. Nothing exceptional for XUV 700 to boast about. Make XUV compete with Taigun 1.5 DSG and the truth will be shocking.

I personally own Kushaq 1.5 style manual, and I can say that Kushaq is faster than XUV700 petrol. But there is a catch, the Kushaq’s initial pickup is slightly laggy unless the engine is properly warmed up, I meant to say that bring Kushaq to drag race only after driving it for somewhere around 20kms and it’s pickup improves massively, this is not the technical fault of the engine but it’s nature and ECB modulation, which keeps the engine at low revs immediately after the initial start to upkeep its life and wear and tear.

This is not what it looks like. Some car manufacturers limit their Initial rpm Power just to make engine more reliable. Some cars are way to good when they compete in rolling race than drag race.

bhai this drag was very important, both claim under 10 second 0-100 but bhai XUv 700 man geye gadar macha di the main reason XUV pulls so clean is because of 380nm torque almost as good as diesel ,hats off Mahindra Engineers, giving tough competition to germans . The 1.5 engine is imported and not like 1.0 which is locally made. Ashish bhai cheetah laye ho cheetah.

Xuv 700 wins wrt dimensions and power , but once the vehicle crosses 150 kmph , the stability and road grip matters for safe riding . I own kushaq 1.5 mt Manual , I once raced with xuv 700 on a highway , which I drove around 190 kmph with confident on the cornering , where the xuv 700 fails to at this point . Hope the body role is evident in xuv 700 and the the driver scared to drove it over 160.
Mahindra is good in pickup truck and not a pleasure car.

XUV is an SUV with high ground clearance- they are really not meant for 0-100 drags, still its beating most of the sedans. Thats the beauty of XUV.
It will beat fortuner/endeavor, jeep compass- most of the SUVs priced much higher.
Octavia, polo gt tsi, punto abarth, cruze, laura - all of these should be able to give tough competition/beat xuv.
