My vette is at Vengeance Racing right now getting a VRX3 cam and several other things including the MGW short throw which in made in Augusta Georgia USA. Vengeance, which is the best aftermarket race shop in the business, uses MGW exclusively. So, this vid is genuine.
I don't know if oil starvation is a problem with these cars, but I just saw on motoiq the other day that Improved Racing released some oil pan baffles to help with that.
Did you also reuse the stock beveled washer "top cover boot" to keep the road noise out of the cabin? I don't want to cross-link in your videos, but a search on "MGW - C5 & C6 Shifter Install" at 6:04 will bring you to my question. Thank you for sharing both procedures. I have an 04 Z06 with a LG short throw shifter and at WOT it’s hard to shift from 1-2-3 and it’s also very notchy. Do you think replacing my lower box would solve my problems.
The shift pattern is tighter on the MGW than the S2000 but it requires more shifting effort. The MGW makes wide open throttle shifts very easy. It is easily one of the best mods you can do to a corvette.
do they sell the lower box separately and is it compatible with other short shifters? I ask because I already have a TWM short shifter but, its bolted to the stock lower box.
Any difficulty getting into reverse? I've got the c6 shifter and knob which I like but reverse is tricky. I feel like a shorter throw would make it even worse.
Shifting into reverse, 3rd, and 5th works much better for me now. I had problems with them before. I let a friend drive and he had trouble with 5th with the new mgw shifter. The pattern is very tight but once I learned it, all the guess work that was inherent with the stock shifter was removed.
I'm pretty sure GM implemented the skip shift feature in the Corvette to save on the gas guzzler tax.

You knew it was coming...how's the shifter feel vs the S2000?

what ramps do you use? they seem like they wouldn't slide when getting up on them

What do you think of the hurst short shifter for the c5z. I just picked a z06 up this weekend and I already want to switch out the shifter!
