The level of aesthetic and technical quality of this video is hilarious, considering it's a board game review. It's like calling an Uber and a Lamborghini pulls up. Not knocking it, though! Thoroughly enjoyed it - you've set a new standard. Tom Vasel is going to have to invest in some new hats to keep up. ;D

Dude, that opening cinematic showcase is AMAZING! The shots are gorgeous and are perfectly timed with the music. If you'd told me it came from the publisher, I totally would've believed you.
Great video! I've played HTS a few times and I always find that the game ends too quickly. We never seem to be able to get far enough into the game to feel like it was a great play experience. We ended up modifying the game to where you needed to get 6 different heroes and slay 3 monsters. We found that that made the game much more enjoyable.

Me and my friends play it in a different way, we allow only 5 heroes in a party wich means that all of your heroes serve a porpouse and that you should carefully decide wich ones play and wich ones not play. It makes the game last longer but it also makes items like mask highly valuable, oh and we also didn't have a max item restriction
This has been super helpful, and I agree with everyone else; you put forth great effort in this video, and it's really difficult these days to find people who actually go in depth about the game, so I enjoyed this immensely. I definitely think this is a game that I will pick up. Also, LOVED the intro. Very cool. Keep at it, man!

I saw a few people play with a sorcerer class which consisted of dragons. Is that exclusive content or something? There doesn't seem to be an expansion pack that has sorcerers.

is there any game that would make a good alternative to this one? I just feel like your idea with the extra map and tasks is realy cool. I just dont know if there actually is any game like that as im quite new to these type of games. I feel like HTS is a good way to start but i dont think that me and my friends would use the outplaying strategies a lot....atleast thats what i noticed with unstable unicorns.
Have you played VagrantSong? It has acrylic standees and an amazing 30s cartoon style.
I got it for my sister and it was a really nice game! I would have to agree that it needed a special extra element of complexity like a game board or some special advantage to the types of heroes you had. It was defiantly a win, but it needed one or two more concepts to make it feel full.
ah im happy to hear you both enjoyed it! I can't even imagine how much more fun it'd be with that missing UMPH to it haha! a board.... some more impactful hero abilities-i think those ideas can certainly still be added in a future expansion though if they ever decide to do that!

I love the art, the standees, mats and meeples are fantastic. The gameplay looks fun. Disappointingly I missed the kickstarter and the retail game only comes with the cards.

Not sure if they changed it up, but I recently bought the game after this, and it didn’t include any meeples, player mats, or standies :( I liked the aesthetic of them, but maybe they changed it up and I was late to getting this version. I enjoy the game without them as well though, great review!
I think that's because those add-ons are kickstarter exclusive, just like the box and dice tower itselves
I have this game with the meeples. We just use them to identify which abilities have been used. I like the but it's not one of the best battle card games I've played. It's a little too easy for people to have run-away wins I find.
I recommend trying out Happy Little Dinosaurs from the same publisher though. It's more straightforward game but super quick and easy and a lot of fun in the couple of games I have played.

@@TimChuon I tried it and I loved it. It's not everyone's cup of tee but it's definitely unique and fun to play! It follows the same art style as Here to Slay and some of their other games, which only makes the experience better in my opinion.
Which expansion packs would you suggest?. I personally like the warriors and druids one. Let me hear your opinion please.
The warrior and druids expansion looks like a solid choice! You get 2 heroes, 31 more cards, and 2 more monsters; i think that's not a bad deal! The dragon sorcerer pack does look interesting as well because it adds a new dynamic, but value-wise, i think warrior and druids look great
Sounds like it has a similar gameplay strategy and hype as munchkin, sign me up coach

This video is pretty but it's almost impossible to get a sense of what the game actually plays like. I mean, for example when you get to your purported "gameplay" section you start talking about your ideas for incorporating the meeples and standees into the game? Could use more substantive content here. Cheers.
