I have have been alternating the original vs parfume for the past week. For me I prefer the OG Noir. It may not be as “intense” but to me that allows the notes to work together in a more unified and pleasant way.

For the record,
Estée Lauder already runs cosmetics of TF. The only thing they don't run is the fashion.
I can confirm this cause I am an employee at an EL-factory.
That being said. TF is by far my most favorable brand. I am a big big fan of the tobacco-vanilla and tobacco-oud.
You should try those if you didn't yet.
Are you aware if there are any reformulations recently? I got a TF Black Orchid Parfum with batch from Jan 2023 and I am concerned about the reformulation
I feel like both of these fragrances are what I wanted Lune Feline to be. On me, LF goes very very smokey, which is fine, but not what I wanted. That cardamom vanilla vibe is sooo yummy.
Between the two, Noir Extreme and the Parfum, do you have an opinion on which leans more feminine? Or rather, is one sweeter than the other? The impression I am getting is that they are incredibly similar, but the Parfum is stronger.
I've tested the parfum version for over 2 weeks now. The general consensus of the edp is that projection is minimal. This new parfum doesn't seem to have that significant levels of projection. It is a more spicy, woody less powdery version of the edp. I feel it leans more masculine than the edp. However, if you're thinking of grabbing the parfum because you want a stronger version of edp, you may be disappointed. I would try before buy.

I received my bottle last week. I like it more than the original. The Parfum is less floral and a bit beefier.

Be interesting to smell how it wears in cooler weather.
Layering the Parfum on your skin first and then the Noir Extreme is a magical experience. You get the depth and thickness and smoothness of the Parfum but with more vanilla from the original. This is also true with the Parfum of Black Orchid and the EDP.

I just wanted to make one comment about Estée Lauder. My dear mom taught in a technical college from the 70s until the 90s and only wore Lauder. My God she was so classy and I can still smell her to this day even though it’s been years since she taught. White Linen, Pleasures etc. Hey let’s give Estee Lauder a chance and just demand that they keep up the good work.

Its a more Gingery Vanillic Sandalwood in the dry down, whereas the OG is more Cinnamilic

EL are looking to buy out the brand (clothing , accessories etc) as they want to expand into luxury & be more like LVMH / Kering rather than just doing beauty.

I was so disappointed when I smelled Noir Extreme the other day at the store it is absolutely not the same formula that came out in 2015😒 looking forward to trying the new iteration
I have a bottle of Anthracite, I love it. But true, its not for everyone
I've tested the two versions a couple of times on my skin and I must say that I prefer the 'original' version over the parfum. The drydown is quite similar, but I like that the older version is more floral and you can smell more the vanilla on the skin. The parfum version is woodier and it has also the leather note, so it leans a bit more masculine. That is only my opinion, but I prefer the original version.

Hey what’s the projection like on the new parfum version?
I tested one on each arm and the EDP smelled very sour on my skin was so disappointed after everything I watched and read about it (maybe skin chemistry). Parfum did not smell sour smelled super opulent just not convinced I want a whole bottle
Personally can I just say I LOVED Noir Anthracite? I know I was one of few who did, but it was such a nice vetiver and smelled so different from other perfumes I have on my shelf, other than perhaps reminder of Every Storm a Serenade from IA which I ALWAYS get compliments on.
Me too. I ended buying 3 backup bottles and now wish I had bought a dozen. It’s the perfect masculine scent … to me.
Interesting… his interpretation has been literally completely opposite of everyone else’s opinion. 🤔 He’s the only one so far I’ve heard say the Parfum is sweeter, better, etc. This is why I love this hobby so much, it’s sooo subjective and I love it. Peace.
I bought the new version and after about 15 minutes I can't smell it any longer which is upsetting because I love the scent.

Given that TF doesn't really produce anything, the vast majority of their apparel and accessories are produced under license, Estee Lauder would at least be familiar with the operating model, curious how that conversation between EL and Zegna is going to go given that they are making TF's entire menswear apparel while EL ditched Zegna's fragrances

The edp is my absolute favorite TF fragrance! I'm not sure about this new one because I'm just not a fan of leather notes. Bleu De Chanel is on the clock ⏰🤣

Estee Lauder has always been a part of the Tom Ford brand. He did some work for them back in 2005 and they helped him release his Signature and Private Blend lines. At 60 years old and quite a prolific career, perhaps he's enjoying his life :-)
Exactly. And as his husband died not that long ago he has probably reevaluated what's important in his life. Bringing up their son on his own etc

I tried this and liked it. Suprisingly animalic. Not worth 240 but 100-150 is a good price imo

The Parfum version is quite strong on the Tonka, please don't blind buy it if you don't like Tonka.
Seb some have said there aren't really houses that can do 100ml Parfum concentration, so it's more bull... t marketing. Which does seem in my limited knowledge to make a lot of sense. I really appreciate your honesty in this video. 👏 Regarding the Estée Lauder buyout … TF was already dead to me as a fragrance brand. The last couple of years worth of fragrances have been utterly disappointing and uninspiring.
Tom Ford doesn't seem like the type of person who would sell his brand that carries his name, but there is a huge financial crisis in coming so maybe that's a smart move, who knows.
People at his level aren’t affected by financial crises.
well last year - he turned 60 and 3 weeks later his husband died.

This bad habit is spread all across the board. These companies or perfumers are too darn lazy to create something new and unique so they just tweak the original a little and call it a day. Yes it really seems scammy. In the 70s and 80s they hardly had any flankers and everything was beast mode. What happened?
I guess they wanted to make more money at the customers expense. The nineties were also great. Le male and acqua di gio and so many more. It has to be money and profit related. I do not believe there is a shortage of natural resources in the world as some people say. And why does IFRA have so much control? They are not even a part of any government afaik. They are just a lobby group. And in my opinion if they want to reformulate fragrances that’s fine but I feel they should also put a note or notice on the boxes to reflect that. But none of them do. They are tricking customers by not being honest and transparent. Even more recently, for example. One million and Sauvage edt were beastmode when they first came out and now are also watered down. Let’s hope this nonsense ends soon. Have a good day
@@jujuguy2323 yes I think there’s something fishy between the brands and Ifra! Original classic EDTs were so beastly and now they are watered down. So they can make countless dozens of flankers. I was just talking about this with someone the other day. For example Acqua Di Gio was so strong when I wore it in 1997 it’s now sweet water like an Eau De Cologne. Yeah something is fishy.
