      ABSOLUTELY! Ghana is very SPIRITUAL. I was there last summer, in fact, this brotha was my tour guide. Although my ancestry is Nigeria, my wife is Jamacain, and hers is Ghanaian. I've been to six countries in Africa, and Ghana was the most spiritual for me. Get with a group that travels there. It's not as expensive as you may think. GO FOR IT.

      @Aggieappa Před 3 měsíci +3

      Don't be embarrassed. African kingdoms along the coast fraught and conquered neighboring tribes/ kingdoms and took slaves. Slavery was an important part of the west African kingdoms culture for millenia. That's why Europeans went there as there were so many slaves. Africans traded slaves for guns gunpowder and other European goods and that enriched their kingdom. African kingdoms were very much partners in the slave trade.
      Europeans didn't charge into Africa and round of hundreds of free peaceful Africans and enslave them, they were already slaves in Africa ad were sold to Europeans at places like this.
      Actually in the 1830s, the British, who had banned slavery, sent ships to the African kingdoms to persuade them to stop slavery however the African kingdoms refused as it was an important source of wealth for them. In the 1850s the British sent ships to blockade African ports to force them to stop selling slaves.
      This whole history has been warped and not understood, and so now, 200 years later white people are apologizing to Africans for buying the slaves that the Africans sold to us.

    Human cruelty is sickening. The cruelty and the atrocities suffered in the slave dungeons were only the beginning of what they would suffer for centuries.
    Human cruelty is sickening, and for such cruelty to continue for centuries, it beats the imagination.
    And yet here we are today, still living amongst some people for who cruelty is likes port.
    The grace and wisdom needed not only to endure, but overcome covert and overt racism must be the same grace and wisdom our ancestors exhibited.
    When you have no place to call home, and you never know when and where you will be sold and what awaited you, you develop the survival grace just to stay alive.
    And today, with all the human rights and safeguarding, there are young boys and girls suffering untold cruelty at the hands of people who should know better.
    This is the world we live in.
    Our hearts, ears and eyes should be open to what is happening on our streets, towns and cities.
    for such cruelty to continue for centuries beats the imagination.
    And yet here we are today, still living amongst some people for who cruelty is like a sport.
    The grace and wisdom needed not only to endure but overcome covert and overt racism must be the same grace and wisdom our ancestors exhibited.
    When you have no place to call home, and you never know when and where you will be sold next and what awaited you, you develop the survival grace just to stay alive.
    And today, with all the human rights and safeguarding, there are young boys and girls suffering untold cruelty at the hands of people who should know better.

It's a long story. In short, we have family members that were taken into slavery. We feel the hurt as if it happened yesterday. Only ignorant people will come and tell me what their fellow African did to them during the slave trade. My great great great uncle was shot down my our own village man, by the order of the whiteman. There is a need for research into the spiritual belief systems of the enslaved people from these regions. For instance gaining a better understanding of Akan spirituality, as this is the tribal group of Ghana with power dominance during the slave trade eras, even today. Should help us understand the level of spiritual strongholds these events of slavery which by no means is a past, but ongoing problem between Africa and The West. Just looking beyond the reasonable explanation to why a slave trade castle should be built upon a rock by the sea. Indeed it is a direct route to the ships. But could they not have built these castles inlands aswell?. Why the port and on top of solid rock? Even roof, walls and floor are made of rock. By coincident? The slaves have already walked in some cases cross continental, so walking a few hours from a castle in inland territory to slave ships by sea port should not be a problem at all. Understanding that in these Western African tribal territories, they have a common religious traditions of worshipping water deities. Water, especially the sea where the "queen of the coast", the most revered queen of the ocean resides. You build these castles not by a lake, but right next to the territory of the "queen of the coast". In this very ocean you dispose of corpses as if there is no tomorrow!. Also looking at the rock. The rock is a solid foundation, an identity given in many faith systems including Christianity. A wise man builds his house upon a rock, a house which can never shake or break. Now which solid foundation did these white men build through these castle?. You not only build this castle upon a rock above the ocean right into the territory of the queen of the coast. This castle is everything rock: floor, wall and roof. And the Akan people also happens to believe in a deity powers by the name of Tete Abodom. They are spiritual deities who occupies the earth elements of water, rock and mountain. Their diety purpose is to protect communities from dangers and misfortunes. Now this castle just tore down and nullified all the powers of these deities no?. Inside this castle you are the most worthless thing in the entire existence of life! And where are your gods?. Does this not also trample and war directly at the spiritual powers and strenght of these enslaved people?. Just like when during colonialism their lootings targets spiritual artifacts, taking away the spiritual powers of the people they pursue dominance, control and rule over! This is clearly intentional and certainly conspired and planned. Why did the europeans suddenly change the trade of goods for human resources? No longer gold is valuable? Even today gold is the only authentic wealth currency. So how come human slaves became more valuable than gold? Unless the europeans intentionally structured a conspiracy of complete destruction and occupation over the continent and its people? One that is permanent, a no return one. I find it interesting how faith in returning to where you came from is significant. You came from one deity and you return to them by death. Why on earth was it all important for the whites to structure and organise the entire slave journey a no return one? Even the slave castle, you never walks back a room, just going forward wherever that may be! To me, this is very much ritualistic at best. Your journey into slavery, one that cannot be compared to what you heard of is definitely permanent and eternal, no return at all!.

    It is important that we discuss the history of such buildings. However no mention of who actually ended slavery (British colonial government). Just the usual over simplistic trope of ‘bad’ Europeans and ‘good’ indigenous Africans. It could be argued that British rule, while not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, did shield many of the people from the worst excesses of tyrannical chiefs, famine, disease, slavey and human sacrifice. Note the records of how few British police and military there actually were present during the colonial period. They could not have maintained control for such an extended period without consent from local people.

    And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. Genesis 15:12‭-‬14
    The Bible is not a christian book. There are no christians. Everyone from Genesis to Revelations was an Israelite. Unfortunately, they broke tge Covenant with their God. The same God that delivered them from the bondage of the Egyptians. Slavery is the punishment for breaking the first Commandment: THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME.

    Some nonsense in this. "Slaves were treated well in Africa but not by white people" except by the African kingdom of Dahomey that practiced ritual beheadings of hundreds of their domestic slaves at important events.
    They also gloss over the part that African kingdoms played in the slave trade.
    The British had banned slavery in the 1830s and sent ambassadors to some west African kingdoms to try to convince them to stop selling slaves however the west African kingdoms refused. The king of the African kingdom of dahomey replied that slavery was an integral part of their culture and a source of wealth. As it was for many parts of the world at that time.
    These African kingdoms traded slaves for european weapons and goods to become wealthier and more powerful. The Africans were very much partners in the slave trade.
    Europeans didn't charge inland and round up hundreds of free Africans and enslave them as some people imagine, they came to the coast and the African kingdoms brought out the slaves they wanted to sell.
    Here Africans are portrayed as having little power but that's not true. There were many large African kingdoms like dahomey, oyo, and Benin at this time. It's important to study both sides of the story. People know the American history but most don't know west African history. It's very interesting.
    In the 1850s the British had naval ships blockade some African ports in order to stop them selling slaves and attacked ships along the coast suspected of being slave ships.
    But this history is not well known and so we have the strange situation nowadays of Europeans apologizing to Africans for buying the slaves that Africans sold to us.

      Isaac I think you should make a difference when you mention the Church. The Roman Catholic Church actually approved the enslavement of Africans on the ground the latter didn't have souls and were therefore comparable to animals. Later on that same organisation would play a major role in the implementation and perpetuation of colonialism. Much of the wealth the Roman Catholic Church boasts of is a proceed of these double diabolical enterprises perpetrated by Europeans against aboriginal peoples across the world.

    Sooo emotional after seeing this video! While it is true that a captive was treated differently in Africa and still maintained the language, culture and religion, this fact does not lessen Arica's responsibility for the slave trade.
    Africa is just as guilty as the Europeans for the slave trade. The Europeans could not have kidnapped millions off of the continent without the help of Africa.
    No one can show up on someone's doorstep, kidnap, murder and steal with the person watching them do it unless the watcher is in agreement.
    As the man stated.....the Europeans had guns and other trinkets that the Africans wanted and they did not care about the fate of their fellow brothers and sisters.
    I actually blame Africa for the slave trade more than I blame the Europeans......if they would have killed every pale face that stepped off of those boats the moment that they got off of the boat there would have never been a slave trade.

    • @michelle1177
      @michelle1177 Před 9 měsíci +1

      Okay so I was going to engage in debate with you about how it does not make sense to blame those who were attacked and overpowered by those with more weapons and artillery over those who actually held these people in such barbaric conditions, but then I saw a comment of yours saying that the slave trade in general is a big lie so I’m not sure if it’s even worth it. If they attempted to kill ‘every pale face’, how many more of them would have died?

    • @KP-mr5nb
      @KP-mr5nb Před 9 měsíci

      @@michelle1177Think about this. The Africans were in their own country. They out numbered the Europeans.....think about how many Europeans came off of the boat.....if there are about 10 men on the boat and 2,000 Africans how on earth can 10 European men over power 2,000 Africans??
      There were no automatic weapons back then so even though the Europeans had guns the gun could only shoot one bullet at a time. You might kill 20 Africans but there are still 1,920 Africans left to fight.
      And the Africans have repeatedly admitted and said out of their own mouths that the Europeans had guns and other trinkets that they wanted because they were at war with other tribes. So in exchange for the guns and other trinkets they used us to pay.
      That is trade, not the Europeans overpowering them! The Europeans had something that the Africans wanted and they did not care about millions of their brothers and sisters being carried off the continent.
      Show me an African that was down at those boats fighting to stop the Europeans from taking us.
      No other way to spin the story.....the Africans were doing business with the Europeans and we were the currency that they used to pay for the guns. I'll even take it one step further.....many of the Africans even helped the Europeans put us on the ship! The Dahomey tribe comes to mind.....the recent movie called the woman king was based on that tribe. Hollywood lied and portrayed the Dahomey like they were trying to stop slavery but it was the opposite....this tribe participated in the slave trade. I have a video interview where they spoke to the descendants of the Dahomey people and they admitted that they participated in the slave trade with the European. Thus the Africans are more guilty for the slave trade than the Europeans!
      And the slave trade lie that I was referring to is the lie that we have been told in America where they said that all of us were brought here in chains on a slave ship.....there were a lot of us who were already here before slavery. Study the Olmec civilzation in Mexico. The other issue with the slave trade story is that they have never been able to find a sunken slave ship.....if you have dinosaur bones from millions of years ago then why dont you have a slave ship to show us in a museum?

No Blackman came back to inform them what was happening on the other side so some of these Africans blindly got involved having different mindset about it.
