  • In this video we will show a complete teardown of a transfer case from a 2016 Toyota Tacoma. The owner had issues shifting back from low range after finishing his off-road endeavors. It would still shift after a lot of attempts, but he got fed up with it and decided to repair it. The transfer case in the video was replaced by a used unit, so this video was only made for educational purposes and there will not be another one that shows how to repair it, but assembly should be relatively easy if you are mechanically inclined. Enjoy the video! Subscribe if you like it!
P.S.: This problem happened due to repeated improper shifting attempts. You have to shift into and out of low range when the vehicle is fully stopped and in neutral gear to avoid damaging components.

My father did the same thing. That's what real parenting is - the transfer of real useful knowledge 👌
