Jawa Engine Cut-Off Problem - SOLVED!!

- Jawa Engine has this know issue of the Engine RPM fluctuating a lot and the Engine cutting off Abruptly.
In my previous Videos I had shown the recording about how the Engine goes off Abruptly and also what Solution was provided by Jawa. As expected the earlier Solution from Jawa motorcycles did not work.
So finally we had to insist on changing the throttle body of the BS4 Jawa with a BS6 Jawa throttle body and thankfully it has paid off.

Hey buddy sorry, but this issue still persists. I am not deleting this post intentionally as i have escalated this to the higher authorities within classic legends and want this post on public forum to grab thier attention through the comments where it proves that it is a fundamental problem with the machine and not a isolated issue in 1 or 2 machines.

I can suggest one Alternative that is installing a twin electrode spark plug which comes in the Apache RTR. A caution, just check the plug threading diameter and length of the threading if it matches the Jawa. Unfortunately before I could try this on our machine, it has gone completely dead since last 2 months and is almost in a legal battle with the manufacturer.
I had my own apprehension on this machine and hence never did any DIY like i do with my other bikes. Thankfully the manufacturer can't just raise thier hands and walk away due to that.

😅.. idling for single cylinder engines can be + - 100-150 RPM from idling. For the Jawa it's 1100 RPM which used to go upto 1400 or even 600 rpm.. it's the lower end where if your timing of pressing the clutch and the low rpm would make the Engine cut off Abruptly.

Sir I have bs6 (jawa42.2.1).....some engine noise was there.... So showroom changed that chain tensionr..... But after that the when I ride and the engine get heated the engine noise comes..... And sometimes when I press clutch lever.... I facing Engine cutoff.....please help me
Buddy to be honest, there are multiple issues the Jawa is facing and this engine cut off issue has made up put a case against Jawa in consumer court last month.

Mine is BS6 but the cut off issue is there while I downshifting. The issue is randomly occurring so that the service guys are also not able to rectify the cause.

Hi bro, to be honest, it's working different for every bike. For both of our BS4 model replacing the throttle body solved the problem. But I have heard that even BS6 Owners are complaining about this sudden Engine cut off problem. There was a guy who had come to the service center with a BS6 model and his bike used to abruptly raise the Engine RPM in idling.
The BS6 throttle body is tuned for a leaner combustion compared to the BS4.
Honestly speaking there is no consistency.

today i also started facing the same issue engine automatically stop in specific time i checked many times with stopwatch engine stops exectly on 8 seconds or in 18 seconds but mine is BS6 model purchased 3 months ago done with 2500kms
Get the service center to diagnose and check the error code. A faulty throttle position sensor may also be responsible for this.

There is a wide spread misconception about high octane petrol, so, no it will not completely eradicate the problem.
Sir i have also facing same problem i purchased jawa on 20th may 2022 (bs6 verson )and its about 20 days ride and when i am going riding my bike and when i am using clutch for down side gear suddenly engine was off..its happening so many time..i called show room but they are telling ..we will do it on. 1st service..sir pls give me some advice.. because its money..and money matters.
Buddy, my case haa become even worse. The bike has completed shut down with no response from Jawa. I have finally filed a legal case against Jawa in consumer court.

Bro does Fuel gauge work after FI BURNT
Are you talking about fuel pump when you say FI.. FI is the fuel injector. It that burns.. fuel gauge still works. For fuel level there is separate mechanism inside the tank.

Sir, I have the BS 6 version so thankfully I do not face such issues. The idling as well as the cut off thing. But I am getting very low fuel economy. I get 27-29 km/l. Is it because of engine break in because I am a first time owner so I was not aware of that. Nor did the showroom guys told me something like that. So, I didn’t performed the engine break in.
Hi Tariq, how many kilometres have you completed so far. Is the 1st service done. Generally the mileage improves once you complete atleast 1500-2000 kms as the Engine becomes a bit free by then. Also if you are riding in city traffic in 2nd - 3rd gear all Jawa return almost similar Mileage of 27-30kmpl. The best a Jawa can give is 30-32 on traffic free roads and around 40kmpl on highways at constant speeds of 70-80kmph.
@@RajkaGarage Sir I have completed 2k kilometres. And sir one more thing, many a times on potholes, the front brake lever of my bike becomes very stiff due to which the brake fails. And I think it happens due to the brake wire which gets pulled and makes the lever stiff. I got it checked by the service centre guy and he made some adjustments. But after some time, the issue resurfaced once again. Can you please suggest me something? What should I say to the service centre people so that they resolve this problem permanently. what can be the solution according to you? Would really appreciate your help in this.
Ok..so you can expect some better mileage as your Engine is completely set now, of course subject to traffic conditions you ride in.
Regarding the front brake, it is a hydraulic system so the brake lever will be very hard in usual condition too( drum brakes have spongy levers). Disc brake levers are always hard. It being an ABS system you need to apply the brakes with medium pressure on the lever.
Same with mi 1st service complicated 2200 km has done & mileage is just 30 it's just OK but in so much traffic condition & in my dayli rout 5 7 singles I need crossed them & aslo come from tha way chakn midc from my House it's only

Yes buddy.. infact the problem is still not solved inspite of multiple solutions I have tried. It's something to do with the overall clutch weight which seems to be lighter and does not carry the momentum in idle strokes.
I have the same problem from the date of purchase...one year gone..but company service center can't solve the problem...they saying excuses...they said all r working perfectly.....but till now they did not solve the problem....I purchased bike from Trichy showroom.. tamil nadu.. kindly Give me suggestions...what to do....
Is it a BS4 model or BS6? If it's a BS4 model ask the SVC to replace the throttle body to a BS6 version. There are minor mixture related changes in the BS6 throttle body.
Also check out your clutch lever free play, the Jawa has a trait jerky stalls of there is excessive play in the clutch lever quite opposite to other bikes.

@@abuthahir8931 Hi, I am also from Trichy and brought the bike from Trichy showroom. Has the engine cut-off got addressed by changing the throttle body from bs-4 to bs6? Has that got the issue resolved? Please let me know as I too have the same issue of engine switch off at slow speeds when in the full clutch as well as sometimes in neutral itself.

The bike is dead since last 5 months and currently lying in the service center with the folks scratching thier heads on why, what, how..
Sir i have faced this issue from first day my bike is just 20 days old, after that i went to service centre they did software update and told now your problem is solved.
Sir tell me what to do exactly so i can guide them to do same.

Hey buddy, sorry but even our problem is not solved inspite of the throttle body replacement. I actually plan to make another video and post this update as don't want people to be misguided with what mentioned in this video. Initially for few months after the throttle body was changed everything looked fine. But of late again the bike is aburblty getting shut off.
Next time I will doing certain things on my own. Will make a detailed video on that and also post a follow up if things are fine or not.

They are many where we can target them like twitter , insta and fb.

No point buddy.. if you check all my 3 videos on this issue when everytime we went to the service center and were given some resolution, none of them worked. The company service engineer is so worthless that he doesn't even want to talk the customers.
Moreover the biggest joke, recently when I went for the test ride review of the Yezdi, which eventually has the same engine, even the new Yezdi engine got cut off twice during the test ride.

You even can't imagine as resolution they did the software in my bike and told me that u won't face this issue again.

I bought a used jawa 42 2019 model and I'm facing this issue now 😢
Guys I had the same problem and the guys from jawa came and they cleaned the oil pump, oil filter, fuel filter (as they didn't bring spares). They said changing them will solve the problem. When they opened the said components the amount of dirt accumulated in them were nasty. I will update you if this ultimately solves the problem in a few days time.

I have the 42 2.1 bs6 and I have the cut off and idling issue where even when I hold my clutch in first gear, the bike stalls, or even if I leave the clutch on neutral, it stalls. If anyone can help me with this, hmu.
Ask the SVC folks to replace the Lambda sensor.

Nahi Bhai..even after changing the throttle body..nahi hua hai.. clutch lever ka play agar proper ho toh Kam bar band hoti hai..lekin hoti hai..

I have the same issue and replaced the throttle body, but the issue still there. I asked about the throttle body version replaced, they told me that the replaced one is the bs4 version. Is the BS6 version only will work here?
yes, the BS6 swap has worked in our case. Not many know this, but the BS6 throttle body has been retuned to deliver a leaner mixture to the engine.
Is there a power difference?
Though not tested scientifically, but seems like a lock post 80kmph and needs to be streched to reach 100. It used to do 90 easily earlier and then the strech. Not that it doesn't go 100kmph but felt a little bit of lag.
@@RajkaGarage Alright thank you. Bs6 has an HP less. So, I am not sure where that 1 hp went. Wether in the revised throttle body or the cat con , or both or something different altogether.

Sorry buddy, but the bike still cuts off ubprutly even when riding in a gear engaged. So this solution has not worked.

There seems to be an irregular solution in every case. Both our bikes are running normal since we got this BS6 throttle body. But on the other hand BS 6 bikes are complaining about sudden engine cut off. Get the ECU remapping done from you Dealer and see what happens.

in my repeated complaints, service guy just clean the fuel filters or checking rollover sensor errors.
but that does not solve the problem at all.
All they can say is that i have to change my riding style.. not sure what they mean :-)
is this solution provided to all service centers from Classic Legends? Just want to know before i approach it to the service center.
It certainly did for both of our BS4 models. One of the symptoms was the idling..it was very unstable and became absolutely fine post changing to the BS6 throttle body.
Even i have the same issue, they told me they need me to change the ignition key,
changing it solved the problem?
The lastest solution offered by Jawa is to replace the Lambda sensor. I am sure it will work for few days before dying again 😅

I serviced my bike last week told them to look in to it , they took test drive after basic servicing and told me there's nothing wrong. I repeatedly said them but honestly they Don't care . I don't know what company is thinking with such bad engine they launched yezdi too. Such a bad experience with beautiful bike 🏍 I even told them to change the air filter. But they didn't do it . Jizz

Hi Umang, we have a BS4 model which was giving a lot of issues like unstable idling.. changing to the BS6 throttle body solved that problem. Also another thing with the Jawa is its lighter flywheel which demands a very delicate release of the clutch lever. There is one more thing you can do, before pressing the starter button, prime the fuel pump a couple of times by switching the ignition on and off.
@@RajkaGarage Thanks a lot brother. When i talked with my showroom for changing the throttle body they said jawa uses same throttle body for bs4 and bs6 model. So what can i tell them exactly to fix the problem for cut off problem?
It's the sensors and mapping of the sensors to the ECM that is different in the BS6 which probably they don't want to reveal or maybe they don't know at all.
