The music for every single scene in this is phenomenal. The Temple hymn gives me goosebumps. And I love the intense music during “boss” fights, along with the normal battle music.

I am pretty sure the original PS2 version from 2001 did not have defined shadows, only round spots. This is a remaster.
I'm also pretty sure that if you look at the title at 2:15, it'll tell you the same thing.

Can someone explain, without too much spoilers, the scene before the Sin battle on the airship? I'm there now after picking up my playthrough from 2 years ago and i get a totally different scene and find it impossible to beat Sin.

The game has a secret affinitty system. Depending on some decisions you make troughout the game is who travels with you in the snow rider. You can even get Auron or Kimarhi. It's similar to the Gold Saucer date in FF7.

Because those are the years It was being developed and also still being released for the first time.
FFX came out In AU and EU In 2002 , also the International version came out In Japan In 2002.

He frequently edits out saves and at one point I noticed saves went from 25 hrs game time to 41. He didn't show any monster catching which is a crazy grind. I didn't see the lightning dodges either (although I'm at 26:52 so far)

its amazing rpg game. but the story line is kind of cheesy and not very helpful. i wish this game was more mature, just mathematics and rpg elements. this is what makes it special actually.
