The two conductive sheets in a "real" capacitor can not make contact, except through the positive and negative poles. The video shows putting two pieces of copper wire in while rolling the conductive sheets which would "short circuit". This can not work as a capacitor as show in the video! There are good ideas here for making a REAL capacitor.
