ABOUT ETS 2: SPECIAL TRANSPORT
Only the most skilled and experienced truck drivers are called to perform Special Transport jobs. The new DLC will challenge the players and let them experience super-sized cargoes with length and width exceeding standard cargo regulations. Driving through tight passages requires millimeter-precision maneuvering!
The routes will be secured by two escort vehicles guiding the driver through the transport job from its start to the place of delivery. The player has to obey the escort vehicles' advice and carefully watch for every inch of the road to deliver the cargo in pristine condition.

Some guidelines for (more realistic) heavy haulage:
- Slow down. Time is cheap, repairs are expensive
- Always keep your lights on (that goes for any vehicle, really). They don't cost you anything, and added visibility is always good.
- Use the other lane. People will get out of your way, make use of the room they give you.

I've heard it's also more realistic for these sorts of jobs to be done at night. Is that really the case?
in nz they can only move at night less traffic easier to work
@@satunnainenkatselija4478 so going by your own standards, it would be too expensive to crash the lorry and cause an even longer delay in reopening the road when it could be avoided by going slower and being more careful.
ye thi once happend in slovakia 2 big trailer and when we were close to it it was going aroudn 20-30 kmh
I'm an expert at taking down signs in the game so doing a Special Transport mission would end in a catastrophe for me lmao
There aren't special transport in Italy DLC (yet). Also, the routes aren't random, they're predetermined. The speed limit is 60 specifically for special transport, and the front escort never goes above it, so if you do speeding, you may run into the escort vehicle and the mission will fail. Also, if you use your own truck, fuel tank will be automatically filled up when you select the job and your driving hours will be restored to full. As for the new Scanas, there are two new models, "S" and "R". And other than new beacons, there also are new led strobe lights for the front grill :)
Then how on earth do they want us to refuel our truck if it is a long route and we are nearly running out of fuel?
When you accept the Special Transport job, your tanks are automatically refilled, and your driving hours restored. Because those are short routes, you never need to stop for fuel or sleep along the road
You never know when they will make them longer :)
We'll see, but I don't think they'll make routes so long that you may run out of fuel or have to sleep. For one, I doubt the trailer would fit underneath the gas station roof
This is one of the best DLC I have seen
that not working on the multiplayers
I got a 560 HP Volvo FH Sleeper with the standard chassis and took 45 tonnes and it did not let me down through the hills!
Get 3000 hp mod best thing
Use your engine brake when slowing at higher speeds instead of your air brakes
And if the transmission has it, use retarder too.
Headlights should ALWAYS be on during both day and night in Europe. And DONT STRESS!!

Going through road barriers with abnormal cargo is a challenge, if you follow the escort vehicle the cargo get stuck

The limit is of 60 km/h, i suggest you to pay attention to other cars/trucks because the overpass you in the 2nd lane also if you are in the 1st road lane and it's a bit stressful. The routes are prederminated. They added 2 new beacons and 2 new beacons lightbar. The new Scanias are 2 models: the "R" and the "S", the difference between R and S is that S is higher (because of the floor that is at the same level throughout the cabin, instead the other cabins have a central rise to make room for the engine). I suggest you to use the Volvo FH16 750 8x4, because it's the most powerful and it has 4 axles, then it's more stable with heavy/oversize cargos, or also the Scania R730 8X4 (not the new Scanias that don't have the 8X4 chassis), but it's a litte less powerful. I don't suggest you to use the Mercedes Actros SLT 8X4 because it have 130 hp less than the Volvo, then the engine of the Volvo with 61 Tons, at 80Km/h runs at 1250 rpm, but with the same cargo and at the same speed the engine of the Mercedes runs at 1500/1600 rpm, than it consumes more. You chan use also other trucks ( like your Daf, but I suggest to use a more powerful engine ;) or also the Iveco Stralis Hi-Way 560 6X4). :D
And I also suggest you to press F3 to make the Route Advisor less cumbersome, and if you want you can press another time F3 and the Route Advisor will disappear, then you'll can see the road through the on board computer of the truck :)

its not always about horsepower its to do with torque aswell so the motor in the mercedes may have more torque than th two more powerful motors which also helps it also the gearbox gear ratios can be different that also affects the performance under heavy stress such as a heavy load
I knows, but the Merc engine runs always at 1500/1600 rpm at the same speed and with the same cargo when the Volvo engine runs at 1100-1200 rpm, then it's simply less fuel-efficient ;)
RPMs are also gear dependant, once you reach the speed you want, you can shift up to lower rpms...

Yes I knows but with a 12 speed gearbox in 12th gear the mercedes engine runs at 1500-1600 rpm, but Volvo engine at 1100-1200 rpm
Not necessarily, it depends on the gearbox ratio you have: if you have the 12+2 gearbox, gears are shorter and the engine revs higher, with longer gears ratio, revs will be lower.
If only there was a radio with the escort vehicles saying like Careful for the rain or something
DrewTriesToBeCool You can not deliver any over sized cargos without escorting cars.
The trailer damage is from turning too sharply. With this particular trailer, 3 front axles and over 6 rear axles, you need to make a large radius when turning. I learned the hard way myself.

Slow and steady, I found it more useful to have the side mirror window on and I can watch both mirrors at the same time and watching the road in front of me. I'm betting it's more of a challenge in Norway with tunnels and windy roads.
With a wide load, you have to drive centrally. As in, drive right at the center line.

if its your own truck it refils your tank automatically so you don't have to enter the gas station and if you do enter the gas station you will automatically lose the job.
It may not be the case any more; but oversized loads were always routed on lower traffic roads where possible - less disruption to the general populous and easier for the police to control. It was also usual to plan such moves for Sundays. The less the load has to interact with ordinary road-users the better.

in this DLC, when you have your own tractor unit, the fuel gets topped up automatically
you can split the lanes on the R.A like other guys said use all the road you dont need to follow the path the escort van on the R.A if its safer for you to go straight then you should TOKEN GESTURE on roundabouts make it look like you are trying to go round when you aint
Hey daggerwin you should make a ets2 channel dedicated to the game and me and many others will enjoy the uploads of ets2 on that channel.
Daggerwin, you have to take ypur bends wider at roundabouts and crossings. If you don't, you will hit things.
Daggerwin, I had the exactly same route, and at they begin their was a tram coming. And I was shocked, But the tram has stopped!! I didn't now that!!

As far as roundabouts go with special transports.. if the popo has cut of traffic to it, then I don't see any reason why you would go round it when going left. I don't think they do that in real life either.

If you are suing your own truck it refills and resets your sleeping hours. Your not a Lound to go to a fuel station. It may fail the mission. I really don't think you read the instructions well at the start
No dagger your truck will be refuel and your driving hours will be restored if you sign the special transport job with your own truck

Whis runs where longer. I have be on special transport run with m8 who drive scania T730 8x4 :D from euro port rotterdam to polish town just past german border. it was run with 4 8x4 trucks and was long run and i just whis it was in this DLC to long run like that.

Because it isnt long? I like that too, because it can turn sharper, but I know that I cant haul heavy cargo well on hilly places

Love it! Please help though. I purchased the DLC but I have not seen a single job to haul this cargo yet. Tried Quick Job, but NO jobs are available. Tried Freight Market and no jobs available and nothing of any sort in my External COntracts. All the other DLC's I downloaded (paint jobs etc) work fine but having trouble with this one. Any suggestions?
