No arrows don't hit each other, it was because there is a 0.5 second cooldown for entities to take damage, so when dream and george shot at the same time george's arrow hit just before dream's. This activated the cooldown so dream's arrow didn't do damage and instead bounced off to hit him.

I like how it's usually Dream outperforming George, but in this one George's cautious playstyle allows him to almost never die, while Dream dies nonstop. A good example of how there's no such thing as a bad playstyle, merely ones that aren't adapted to the game you're playing.

I was just thinking about how Dream is a really reckless player...not just in his movements but in combat as well. I guess the best examples are his strategies in manhunt videos. Nice to see George's playstyle get rewarded :) As an overly cautious player who's been working on becoming a bit more brazen it's nice to see the crafty (no pun intended) and careful players getting major props in their stuff.

For anyone who is confused about how Dream killed himself at the nether fortress this is what happened. George shot his bow and his arrow was heading towards the blaze and Dream shot his arrow very shortly after George did and their arrows collided and Dream’s arrow thrusted George’s at the blaze and Dream’s ricocheted off of George’s arrow and went back to hit himself. If you want to examine the scene for yourself I suggest changing the playback speed to 0.25 and going at this time (9:55).

What happened in both occasions was they both shot the blaze at the same time and because you can only do one bit of damage to a mob each half of a second the arrow bounced off of the blaze onto dream

When I was looking up the Multishot enchantment for the Crossbow, I thought it was going to be like a Shotgun. Devastate a single enemy up close, or spray a crowd. But no, according to the wiki, each arrow can only damage 1 enemy. Other arrows that would hit at the same time, will bounce off.
So I think what happened, when you both shot nearly the same time, Dreams was 2nd, immediately after yours hit, so for that moment, to prevent combining arrows, his bounced off, and hit him.
I hate that the devs did this. Not only no Shotgun, but now we have also have to space out our arrows, either shooting a target alone, or with someone else.

In fairness to Dream, he can't move like he usually does. He's used to running around, jumping off ledges and losing more than half of his hearts, tanking damage, and parkouring like a mad-man. It's gotta be hard when he legitimately can't do half of what he usually does.

@@ICWICW Dream sacrifice health for maneuverability. He took lots of damage but ended up being very evasive. In this challenge, he can't do that as he'll die, essentially forcing him to adapt.
But he's still an idiot in half of it, smacking pigmans and such XD.
(This is a joke, I'm pretty sure the only intentional stupid move *was* smacking the pigman. Otherwise stuff like *Dream shot Dream* was an accident.)
