Let's combine two of my FAVOURITE things within crocheting: Granny Stitches and Raglan !!!! Together, you have the perfect project that is easy to try on along the way and can be worked up super quickly. I will run you through how to cast on a stretchy neckline, making your granny stitches and creating the raglan pattern. As a little bonus, I also show you the impact of steaming your acrylic yarn and how to cuff your sleeves.

you know what, I was scrolling the internet for days thinking what to make next and this video popped up... I am making this!
Same for me, i fell in love with her pattern
I have used this pattern for sweaters, caps (leaving the sides open) and dresses!!!! Thank you!!!!
That’s amazing! I’m so glad you find it useful!! 💌
Omg I was actually desperately searching for a top down granny sweater tutorial recently. Thank you ❤xx
Thank you for the Tutorial ❤ I love the jumper❤️
i’m just in the middle of making a granny raglan, this video couldn’t have come at a better time! urs looks great!!
This looks great! I love what you did with the arm-holes instead of sawing 2 panels together.
I looove the way the sleeves turned out😍
Wow thats so beautiful ❤
Wow really nice top . Yes i would like to try. Thanks for showing us how it's done 😊
I have a 13 hour train ride this weekend, so excited to do this then!!
I looooove crocheting on the train 😍
Thank you so much for the awesome tutorial! I just finished up my sweater and it turned out fabulous!!
I started learning how to crochet a month and a half ago and this is my first ever sweater so I'm very proud :D
I did end up with slightly shorter sleeves that come to a mid/three-quarter length, but I think it's due to tension & blocking differences not the pattern.
Girl!!!!’ Thanks so much for sharing this. It’s amazing. I plan on doing this but in a dress. ❤️❤️❤️
I’m actually gonna turn mine into a dress as well, it would look so cute 😍
Oh good! Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
This is amazing 🤩! I want one 😂 I’ll have to try this out. Thank you for this wonderful video!

its amazing
Magnifique ❤❤❤
This is such a helpful tutorial. Thank you for sharing with us. I’m definitely your new subscriber. Greetings from West Sussex.
thanks so much!!!!
lovely sweater! thank you for sharing. But I don't really want such wide sleeves at the bottom/wrist nor a ribbed band, how can I make the sleeve slimmer? just decrease as I go down? I would actually like a small flare and need room at the top of sleeve (big arms!) but not so much as you had
genious❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
OMG YES
I've made two of these now since you've posted this, this is an absolutely lovely pattern; thank you so much for sharing !!!
I wasn't able to figure out the stretchy cast on in a timely manner so I ended up chaining loosely. I also skipped the beautiful ribbed cuffs (as I haven't tried ribbing yet and it's a bit scary for me atm), and it still fits quite well; highly recommend trying this raglan!! 🧡
thank you so much that’s so lovely to hear! That’s the great thing about this jumper, you can modify it to fit your needs
This is a great video and your instructions are easy to follow but for some reason my sweater is starting to curl up. This is my second attempt and it’s still curling 😩
Could be a few things. First it's important to turn each round, because if you work in the same direction each time things will get curly and twisted. Your stitches might be a bit too tight, so you can try loosening up your tension or using a larger hook. Some curling can be blocked out, or it can get less curly once you get more length. It can also help a bit to add ribbing on the edges.
Would this be ok to make with 100% cotton yarn it’s what makes up most of my scraps
Its very beautiful sweater!❤ 🎉
How much yarn do you need for this project? I mean weight.
I Will wait you answer please😊
Hey, thanks for the tutorial - it looks great! How come you don't separate the sleeves and the body in the corners? 🌼
I like a boxier fit around the arms so I prefer to separate it before, but you can separate in the corners if you prefer 😊
@@averpaula Thanks!😊
is there a specific website you used to create the image of the color scheme you drafted on your laptop at the start?
i just drafted this up on photoshop :)
Hey! I’m going to make this from cotton, would steaming be any help with that too? So excited to start ❤❤
Probably less so as cotten is much firmer, it will make it a bit softer but it won’t change the size too much
im on my 3rd row and it seems to be ruffled even though the stitches are all even as I have 8 chain spaces between the arms and 11 on the front between the corner stitches will it flatten out as I do more rows?
I Think it’s because of uneven tension. If you block your project so far, and stretch to make it even ajd unruffled and then ensure even tension as you continue crocheting, it should improve (?? I think)
How do you account for different sizes? Should I be increasing on the body section?
Crocheting in the raglan pattern means that it’s adaptable to your own body size, as you are simply crocheting until you’ve reached the desired length for your armpit, and you can try it on as you go to decide when to stop increasing! As mentioned during the calculation section in the video, leaving less stitches for the arms and more for the body, creates a wider fit (20/60) whereas if you leave more stitches for the arms and less for the body (30/60), it will create a slimmer fit (i hope that makes sense) :)
Is there a multiple of stitches?❤
Hi, do you have a written pattern available please?
Can you make a video on how you steam and block your garments.
Of course! It’s on my ideas list
for the sleeves did you do “3 dc, ch1” for the entire sleeve or just the first round?
It’s 3dc, ch1 for all of the main body and sleeves 🫶 (i had to actually go back and rewatch it myself, it’s been so long since I last made anything like this)
is there anyway to make the sleeves slimmer? baggy sleeves really are a sensory nightmare for mw :(
Yes it just depends how you divide your body & arm measurements :) If you take away 10% from your total stitches you will get slimmer sleeves (instead of the 20% that i did)
👋
hi! do you have any idea of how many metres you used? thinking of making this in mohair :))
sadly not, it was quite hard to keep track of how much yarn I used as I was choosing colours quite intuitively, i wish i could help more :(
@@averpaula ah that's ok! I'll just wing it haha
I don’t know how to math… I need help can I see the example?
it’s linked in the description:)
