I was bullied in school and battled with depression. I discovered Dragonball Z at a young age. It inspired me to work out and change my diet. I gained 35 lbs of muscle. I also earned my black belt in shito-ryu karate do. Thank you Mr. Toriyama for inspiring me with your work and helping me through some hard times.
😊 👏
👍👍
Wow that’s awesome.
Thats incredible 👍💯Same here, I'd go to school get bullied 6 hours 5 days a week kept it a secret for the 5 years I was there but there was always Dragon Ball Z waiting for me and I'd
temporarily forget what happened and I owe it to Akira Toriyama for making my life that much easier
@@enigma7784 It’s amazing the impact these shows and movies have on us. There’s a lot of people out there that don’t get it, but they don’t have to. You can either let it all put you down and consume you, or you can use it as fuel to be something better. Sorry to hear that though. I hope you’re doing better now.
It's so ironic, the man who is known for forgetting things about his own series will never be forgotten by the world.
This made me less sad about it
I can’t imaging how mortified he must have been, the most special day of his and his wife’s new lives together, and a bunch of news agencies with cameras crash their wedding. I don’t blame him for becoming a public hermit.
I started with Dragon Ball Z when there was just the Sayan Saga playing at 7:00 AM on Sunday mornings in Philly, ca. 1996. I deeply love that series, as well as the original. I did not embrace later series with the artistic changes, but I respect them. I feel your pain and loss, either way.
That happening seemed so bizarre I went and looked up what happened. The press were apparently permitted, but only for five minutes. I can imagine he gave them an inch but they took a mile instead.
R.I.P Toriyama. I've been a fan since 1998 and will forever read the manga in his honor.
Toriyama's story for how he met his wife and got married is adorable.
My actual hero. I've been obsessed with Toriyama's work for over 20 years. It hit hard when I heard he passed. One of the most influential people that ever lived. It's a shame that there isn't more footage of him drawing, because he's one of the GOATs due to his original style and how perfect his art comes out. So much character and originality in every drawing he's ever done.
Thanks For Dragon Ball Akira! Rest In Paradise 1955-2024 🐉 🙏🏽 🕊️🐐😢
Thank you
Wow I never knew how much perseverance Toriyama had! He failed so many times but he never gave up! And all that hard work and determination eventually paid off! Inspiring stuff. Thank you Danny for this awesome and very informative tribute to the legend himself!
It’s uploads like this that just put geekdom well above all other DBZ CZcamsrs, his attention to detail and the passion in his voice towards the franchise are unmatched like no other, RIP Akira toriyama thank you for goku but mostly for you.
Geekdom and Oppai Senpai make the best dragon ball news content.
I seriously cannot stand CZcamsrs with personality disorders like that overly critical anime guy. His narcissistic personality disorder is so draining to listen to. I'm so glad he got his karma. No one likes him and everyone stays loyal to the CZcamsrs who spend their time making great content.
Now that we are as hindsight-aware of Toriyama's mortality as he had been for the last several years we should all feel so grateful that he gave Dragonball one final push to providence that will stick around for years to come. If it had simply ended with GT the franchise may have gradually fallen into historical anime obscurity as time moved on, but now it is a story that truly impossible the world to forget. Thank you Toriyama-sama, and may you rest in peace. 🐉🟡⭐️
it did end with gt
GT is a fever dream
@Echo-nn8dt it did end with gt but super is not cannon
It definitely would have lasted popularity wise had it all ended with Z, and there was no GT, Super, Heroes, or Daima. Super was essentially only popular because everyone remembered of Z and it was just nostalgia bait, it was a horrible anime by itself.
@@urbanyouths there was gt Age 789
I can't believe it's been almost a month yet. It feels like yesterday... The day I heard the news. I'm reading Manga Theater and watching the original series again since last month. I love his style. The 42 volumes of the Dragon Ball manga might be my favorite thing that I own.
Toriyama helped me so much over the years. I just finished college and I'm facing some hard times. But every time I think things are way too difficult I think of this man and how he made it. Legend.
Im 43 now. Been watching DB for 25 years. Looking back, some of my fondest memories are of me and my high-school friends watching DBZ. One of our older friends purchased the GT tapes online and we all gathered to binge watch the entire series. Good times. Rest in peace Toriyama.
Incredible video! Thank you for this 🤝🏼
Hi Logan
I grew up on Dragon Ball since 2009. I also like Marvel, DC, Anime, Dragon Ball, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario, Monsterverse, Godzilla, King Kong, Disney, Pixar, The Terminator, Ratchet & Clank, Indiana Jones, James Cameron's Avatar, Planet of the Apes, & Five Nights at Freddy's, & Grand Theft Auto.
Since 97
Omg, that’s so much interest you have right there😵💫
@@NightmareZzK Yep I like it all of The Best stuff that I grew up.

Well done, Geekdom101. Thank you for making a video expressing what much of us are still feeling right now. I'm 41 years old and I've been watching Dragon Ball / Dragon Ball Z for many years, starting with the Harmony Gold dub and was addicted. All these years later, I owe so much of who I have become to Akira Toriyama and his creations. He will be missed by everyone.
Thank you Geekdom!!! 🙂
I live my life by the moto "Go Goku".
Always challenge yourself and reach for heights you never imagined.
His writing gave me a building block for my life.
Thank you for making this video!
There will never be another artist like Akira Toriyama! RIP 😞🙏🏿
Thank you a lot you put the gathering of DB fans in Argentina, my country. It was so much important that gathering that day in our Obelisco monument for us as a way to mourn and say thanks to that great man whose work made happy thousands maybe much more in my country just like it was in the entire world.
REST IN PEACE AKIRA TORIYAMA
Argentine here.
I also felt sorrow for Toriyama's passing even though I didn't go to the Obelisco gathering.
I am more of a JoJo fan, but like every kid in the 2000s I knew his magnum opus from a very early age (Also helps that both Dragon Ball and JoJo are from the same magazine and the same decade (1980s Weekly Shonen Jump) and that both are highly influential ever since their respective first days).
Toriyama would have turned 69 had he lived the entirity of March, so let the master fly high in the Heavens.
WE WILL MISS HIM

Perfect timing, something to enjoy while I’m at work, I’ve always loved the origin story of Toriyama because with everything in regards to his career/mangas, he just winged it, never planned too far ahead and never put too much thought into it all, just went with what came to mind and created magic. Toriyama was the perfect example of not letting the stresses of life and being adult take away from the creative mindset that we all have as children
R.I.P Akira Toriyama, thanks Geekdom i enjoyed watching the documentary.
I love the amount of effort and research went into this video. A wonderful tribute to Toriyama. Thank you!

Thank you for this wonderful documentary Geekdom. Bless 🙌
A beautiful tribute Danny. Thanks for making this and sharing.
Man, great job on this video; you really did his story justice and I got to learn some new things. I'll be 37 this year, and for 29 of those years Chrono Trigger has been my all time favorite video game and one of my favorite pieces of media in general. I'm working through my way thru the DS version for the first time and I've just been taking my time to really soak in all the designs and animated cut-scenes (and the music, of course). Once I'm done with that, I've got a couple Dragon Quest games loaded on my 3DS so I can keep honoring Toriyama-sensei all year, and for years to come. We're so lucky that he left us so much amazing work that even hardcore fans still have new things to read, watch, and play. Rest easy, Toriyama-sensei, you've earned it
Dope video. Very insightful, informative
What a legendary icon.
Thanks for this Danny.
Thank you for the video man, this brought tears to my eyes. Mr. Toriyama changed my life like most of us here. He will be deeply missed. May his legacy live on
Surprised UnrealEntGaming hasn’t made his Akira Toriyama video yet
Fantastic tribute to Toriyama Geekdom. The info, the visuals, and your personal thoughts. It all made me reflect on the importance of Toriyama in my life. I always wanted to view something like this about his life, much before the tragic news. Toriyama affected us all in so many profound ways. Thank you for this tribute.
I started dragon ball on vhs tapes. This man impacted my whole life and friendships. No man is truly gone until they are forgotten

I must say thank you for making this my dude. Akira Toriyama will be a legendary forever! I just hope I can match that type of work ethic he put into his mangas with cgi and other forms of amazing storytelling. Toriyama was one of my main influence in becoming a creative artist.

Very well researched and produced documentary 🤩
Had to wait to watch this video to emotionally prepare myself, as silly as it sounds.
Great job of really focusing on the greatness of his endeavors, celebrating his life and impact more than being morose about his passing.
Well done, Danny.
For all that he’s done and all the people he’s connected with it, I am grateful.
