I suggest you go listen to The Clipse Feat. Pharrell “Hostage” Pharrell was far from positive when he watched his grandmother slowly die from leukemia in Virginia’s projects... Making beats and riding around with real thugs to escape her anguish and poverty in general. I hate people who don’t know his real story. He had to WORK to be Positive or Happy. He was nowhere near either growing up.

I absolutely love pharrell. He comes across as being so humble, genuine, and down to earth.
He's probably had to fight tooth and nail to keep his soul, but he's definitely won so far.
This is the first time I'm seeing an interview of him, he's so cool.
Because he is and he can honestly sing about being happy because he is. :-)

Now I get it. When he sings 'like a room without a roof' on Happy, he's just projecting his happy place. A room where he can see the stars and experience the water that's falling from the sky.

Jon Batiste is a perfect foil for Stephen Colbert, and a legend among musicians on his own.
I always watch to see what guests give acknowledgement to John and the band when they enter the stage, especially if they have music ties.
I find myself judging guests by if and how they acknowledge Jon.
john is a trainwreck on the show 99% of the time. maybe the music is fine, but he should not have a microphone to speak
I like how honest he is about not knowing the exact details. I think some ppl just pretend to know and most reporters dont care to correct the minutia.

It's amazing to watch 2 people who have no idea and no understanding of any theoretical physics talk about dimensions and time travel. They are like children asking where the sun goes at night and you try to explain it to them but the look on there face says I retained none of what I just herd.

I watched The Black Godfather on Netflix and it was a very interesting documentary. All these stars raving about this person I never heard of before. It’s like where has this man been, why do they never report on him or in any headlines? Why aren’t there more people like him? I guess it can only be one. Always I enjoyed it.
