@Helliot K: You misunderstood Jennie's comment - She felt sorry for the pianist, who had had to put up with the conductor's lack of musicianship and the orchestra's poor performance.

This one (Beethoven Emperor Concerto) was even more disastrous. Dang Thai Son, as always, showed extraordinary musicianship which was ruined by the orchestra.

zzz, do u know that he was the first Asian to win a big piano competition in the world, which happens to be a Chopin competition in 1980, when you, probably was not even born. What aspect of musicianship does he lack? In that 10th Chopin competition he won over a man with even more complete techniques than him with his true undestanding of Chopin music. Plz go back to your K-pop zone...

besides of talent, technics - Son has a hard childhood life, grown up with and by power will. love to life , what is something in common with hard and unlucky life of Chopin. They may have the same feelings, with these he can so emotially play Chopin . - But there's one thing Son has a lack : it is the soul of Poland, somethings that Zimerman and Blechacz have (elegancy, wide-spread space, liberated feelings, ... I don't know what is it exactly). -- Nevertherless, What do you can expect with this soul from the asian boy, grown up in the terrible war and poverty, never seen the world beyond Vietnam, until last 3 year in Russia ? - He is genius, that can show "some" Poland soul !!!
