The Nottingham-raised and highly-praised musician/DJ/producer Matt Cutler returns to Greco-Roman with his first new music since 2022's 'Natural Aerials EP'. New single 'Waterfall Reverse' combines everything we love about Lone's music into seven minutes and twelve seconds of perfection. In Cutler's own words he wanted to make something 'That plays with familiar dance music tropes; rapid breakbeats, cut up vocals, a big 303 workout but then flips into something much trippier and more ambient.'
This is peak Lone; mind bendingly, breathtaking machine funk that ascends into a post new age, ambient bliss-out featuring the first recorded vocals from Cutler himself.
New Lone is always a landmark occasion.

I've been waiting patiently for Lone to drop a new beat soon. When he gets to work, it's like he's doing chemistry, with art, precision, and imagination. Thanks again Lone for another awesome song, this time through a waterfall.........IN REVERSE, LOL😎👍.

The more I listen to this the more it shows itself as a masterpiece. There is no way those lush keys and that beat wouldn’t move an entire dance floor. And then just top it off it finishes with an unmistakably beautiful outro. Absolutely brilliant Matt
The distillation of this I have in my mind is a low-polygon car drifting effortlessly through a yellow-lit nighttime city overpass, all displayed on an old CRT TV while an announcer excitedly shouts “ONE LAP TO GO! KEEP YOUR COOL!”.

obviously still distinct but this track transports me to 2012/2013 and listening to Galaxy Garden. Just putting headphones on and getting lost. Sometimes high, sometimes sober. Listening to Lone (and a few others) during the small hours enriched my life when nothing else would. Now life is a little better and this track gives me a big smile and I can look back on that time with grace
