    - Neck: Khaya Mahogany open pore
    - Fingerboard: Brownwood

I bought a HiVibe 30 after seeing it demoed several times. Had it 1 week and took it back. The electronics novelty was wearing off and without that it's not really a great acoustic guitar alone, so... The effect didn't sound great compared to my Yamaha Transacoustic and the iphone app is total crap. I was tempted to wait and see if I got into it but realized in time to let it be some one else's head ache.

Thank you for confirming my take on this, such that I don‘t need to try and return it. I, too, have (and love!) a Yamaha Transacoustic, and its two effects (reverb and chorus) are of far better quality than those on the LAG, which come across as gimmicks. I have watched maybe 15 demos of this guitar and none of them impressed me sound-wise. OK, that‘s perhaps partially due to almost every single review (including the one on this video) not tweaking the effects to sound as good as possible. Almost all the reviews just bash on the guitar with the effects more-or-less on full (or off). That is no way to demo such an instrument. Back to your experience: So I assume you have also tried to tweak the effects using the app, and still found the sound lacking. And you even had the 30 model (rather than the 10 shown here). Case closed for me. I‘ll wait for LAG to figure out how to make use of this fantastic technology with better-quality effects that don‘t make the guitar sound like a toy.

P.S. What was crappy about the app? Just curious.

Cheers, that was my thought. The Yamaha’s sound better.

Now yes, they are releasing a kit to retrofit any guitar.

“Obviously it’s got inputs and outputs “. No. That’s not obvious at all.
